Chapter 33

You suddenly felt yourself laying on what felt like dirt and you heard what sounded like someone walking up to you and you then heard a voice, "You don't have to die if you don't want to."

You gasped, "W-who are you!"

The person sighed, "Calm down, oh and you can open your eyes you know."

You slowly opened your eyes to reveal a tall beautiful woman. She looked down at you, "Well aren't you going to stand up Y/n?"

You nodded and quickly stood up, "How do you know my name?"

"I know everything about you." She narrowed her eyes at you, "I am Kim JaeEun guardian of the two gates."

You raised an eyebrow in confusion, "The guardian of the what?"

She sighed, "Guardian of the two gates."

You nodded and looked around, "And where exactly are we?"

"You are in what we call the Middle Ground. When the gods die they are sent here for judgement."

"What do you mean... judgement?"

"Basically we will decide if you will live happily or suffer for the rest of eternity."

You gasped, "No, you can't. I can't be dead!"

She looked at you confused, "You've died before, surely you're used to it by now."

"Yea but when I died before I had nothing to live for. I now I have four children and a life with my fiancé."

She shrugged, "Not my problem."

-Johnnys POV-

He sat there in shock watching you as your body grew colder and paler by the second and a few moments later a group of men ran in and one introduced himself, "I'm Suho the doctor here in this town."

Johnny nodded, "Please do something."

Suho sat behind her and began to check her pulse. First on her wrist and then on her neck. A few moments went by when his face became solemn and he looked up to Johnny, "I'm sorry."

Johnnys eyes went wide, "What! What do you mean by that?!"

He shook his head, "There's nothing I can do. I'm afraid there's nothing I ever could have done. The arrow is directly in her heart she never would have made it."

Johnny jolted up and threw Suho against the wall, "You're lying!"

Suho shook his head, "No... no I'm not. Please understand."

The other men that were in the room quickly grab Johnny and pulled him of Suho but he quickly pulled his arms free and fell over to your side.

He carefully brushed the hair away from your face. "He's lying Y/n. You'll be fine. Don't listen to him."

The doctor crouched down by Johnny and he sighed, "I suppose I should probably remove the arrow."

Johnny nodded, "Thank you."

Suho and Johnny carried her body to the bed and laid her on her stomach so he could work easiliy. He pulled out his tools and carefully cut around where the arrow was so he could remove it without causing much more damage.

When Suho was finished he bandaged the wound and he began to walk out of the room. When he made it outside he spoke to the staff that was watching over Johnny and Y/n. "I'm worried for Johnny. I want you to watch over him while I have Y/n's body brought to my office."

The men nodded and one spoke up, "Sir he's clearly in pain. What if he tries to put up a fight?"

Suho sighed, "I don't know."

-Your POV-

You glared at the woman and you stood your ground, "I didn't die, fall in love, have four kids, and get engaged for nothing! You have to send me back!"

She smirked at you, "Well there might be option if you are so dead set on going back."

You quickly nodded, "Yes! Yes what is it."

She hummed in thought, "I don't know. This has only been done a few times and come on, you only a minor god and you haven't even been one for more than a year."

You shook your head, "I don't care! I need to take any chance I can."

For a split second you thought she was smiling but it quickly disappeared and she nodded, "Ok, then you should probably listen to me. Because once we start there's no turning back."

"Whatever it is I can do it."

"Great. So the only way for a god to escape death is to make a deal with a demon from the underworld."

Your eyes went wide, "Excuse me?!"

She nodded, "Yep. But I mean if you're not up for the task you can just stay dead."

You sighed and shook your head, "Tell me what I have to do."
