Chapter 34

You sighed and shook your head, "Tell me what I have to do."

"You will need to go on a journey through the underworld and I will help guide you. As for who I appear to be, is up to you. Your subconscious descides." She answered calmly.

"So, you're whoever I want you to appear as?" You ask thinking of who you want her to be.

"That is correct." she states still stoic.

You thought of all the people in your life. You didn't want her to look like family or friends, fearing you may get too attached. And you didn't want her to look like Johnny or any of the other gods because you would cry.

So you decided to make her someone you would feel comfortable talking to. Someone you've never met before.

And so you closed your eyes and when you opened them, the woman was no longer there, and in her place was Stray Kids Jisung.

Even though it wasn't really him you still smiled. You now feel like your able to talk freely and more comfortable, which I guess is the whole point.

"So what do we do next... uhh." Your mind blanks out when you don't know what to call him.

"Call me Han Jisung." The identical of Jisung said.

He looked at you with his still stoic look, "Before we begin you probably want to see Johnny don't you?"

You nodded, "Yes but how?"

"You can see him anytime you want. Just close your eyes and think of his face." Jisung said.

You slowly closed your eyes and thought of Johnny and when you open your eyes you were in the hotel from before. You saw Johnny sitting on the bed next to your lifeless body while holding your hand.

"Why is he still with me even though I'm dead?" you asked Jisung with curiosity lacing your voice.

"He doesn't believe you are dead."

He then looked over to you, "I am here to guide you on your journey to the underworld. If you can make the journey and make a deal for your life within three days, you will return to your body. However if you can't you will stay dead and your body will start to rot." Said Jisung as if he's said the speech a million times before.

And seeing someone with Jisung face saying this was definitely unsettling, since he was so expressionless and stoic.

The fact that you had a chance to come back made you hopeful but that hope was quickly crushed when you remembered only a few has ever succeeded so why would you make it?

You looked at him trying to hide your fear, "B-but I can't go to the underworld."

"Don't worry child, find courage and strength, I will show you the way. You will be given tools as well. I wouldn't send you there empty handed." Jisung said as his face softened ever so slightly.

You were going to face your fear, and had to show courage and strength while doing so. ~I'm doomed~ you thought.

"Of course, you can always decline and choose to stay dead." he added.

You quickly shook your head. Dying at the age of 18 by a matter that wasn't your choice, leaving behind the people you cared for was not an option.

"No, I will do it. I will get back home to see my friends and family again. Even if it just for one last time."

To your surprise he smiled. Your heart fluttered a bit seeing Jisung smile. However you knew it wasn't really Jisung, just a magical entity. To Jisung he could already see you were different from everyone else, and he wanted to let you live and be happy right now, however he wanted to test you. Test your courage and strength to make sure you were worthy to come back to life.

Jisung was surprised when you said you were going to finish the journey, knowing it was your greatest fear, and for what? To go see your family and friends.

Normally the gods that wanted to come back were power hungry maniacs. They wanted it for there own advantage and gain, however you didn't even have a choice in the matter.

In all honesty Jisung could spring you back to life just for that, not having a choice, however he held faith in you and wanted to help because he knew the power you would gain if you succeeded. You could become the most powerful god if you wanted. Because with the new power you could always protect yourself and your loved ones.

So that's what Jisung was doing. Providing you with the option to save yourself, and if you couldn't, you might as well stay dead.

"Then shall we go?" Jisung asked.

You looked back expecting to see Johnny still holding you but he wasn't there. So you closed your eyes and thought of him again.

When you opened them again you saw Johnny yelling at someone with other people trying to calm him down.

"NO SHE'S NOT DEAD!! STOP LYING TO ME!!"

Suddenly a man grabbed Johnny shoulders and he spoke in a soft tone, "Shes gone Johnny. Please calm down."

Johnny shook his head, "No she's not dead... she's just asleep."

The man sighed, "Ok Johnny... ok. She's just tired."

Johnny finally stopped struggling against all the others and he sat down beside you.

Meanwhile you were completely speechless. Tears came to your eyes as they slowly fell out one by one.

You quickly wipe away the tears, finding it now pointless to cry over something that has already happened.

You then tried to speak but it seemed like he couldn't hear you so you tried to give a sign, something poltergeist like. Maybe flicker of a light or throwing an object. But it didn't work.

Jisung exasperated with your attempts rolls his eyes and snaps his fingers causing the lights to flicker for a few seconds then eventually going out.

Johnny quickly looked around with his eyes wide and he whispered, "Y/n?"

The sight was painful and the other man put his arm on Johnnys shoulder, "Johnny she may not be there."

Johnny shook his arm off violently, "SHE'S HERE I CAN FEEL IT!"

You sigh at this point it would be down right embarrassing not to give him the sign he is looking for.

You walk up to him to try to touch him well aware that Jisung is behind you and watching you curiously.

You keep trying and trying but continue to fail.

Frustration and anger built up inside of you. You kept thinking. ~I need to give him a sign to let him know I am here.~

You closed you eyes and let out a frustrated yell and tried again. But this time to your surprise your hand was met by a hard surface. You opened your eyes and was met by Johnnys wide eyed stare.

He wasn't staring at you, more like his chest where your hands rested.

He raised hand and touched yours.

He gasped slightly in relief.

He brings your hands to his face to rest on his cheeks.

And he stares at what he assumes to be your eyes lovingly.

"Come back to me Y/n. I have faith in you."

He then carefully pulled your hand away with a single tear falling from his face.

"Now go kick some ass and get back here."

You smiled and laughed lightly.

Everyone must have heard you laugh because the others were all looking in amazement.

They all nodded and said in unison, "Good luck Y/n."

Johnny nodded, "When you wake up, I will promise to protect you forever so you never get hurt again."

You tear up and a single tear falls onto the wooden floor.

Johnny must have heard because his eyes went wide, "Y/n don't cry, your going to make me cry more."

You then smile to yourself ready to take on the world. The underworld for that matter.

You turn to Jisung Who was watch curiously, "I'm ready."

Jisung smiles which makes you more comfortable and confident. "Then let's go."

You take one glance behind you to see Johnny and he smile them blows a kiss in your direction and you sigh, "Really at a time like this you still have to flirt."

As you were about to turn around Johnny said one last thing, "Of course."

Your eyes went wide. ~Oh shit he heard what I said.~

You smiled and whispered, "See you soon." before being emerged in darkness.
