The waitress

I went home to have a nice nap, I actually hid from my mom who slept on the couch waiting for me. But I did cover her up with a warm blanket before heading to my room.

I woke to my mom shouting my name.

"Elizabeth!" She rushed to my room.

My room was dim so I bet she had to slow down in hesitation.

"Elizabeth.. Why is your room so dark?"

"Mom.." I said with a weak voice.

"Elizabeth what's wrong?" She immediately moved the curtains only to see me lying on the bed with the duvet covered up to my neck.

"Elizabeth, is something wrong with you?"

"Mom.. I think I'm having a cold" I lied.

"Oh my child, is that so?" She touched my forehead.

"Oh you're burning up. I'll go get a thermometer to check your temperature" she said and stomped off.

Oh no! This is not good. I panicked as I looked around the room.

"Darling, here's it," She placed the thermometer in my mouth.

She came with a hot chocolate. I don't know if I could be less thankful.
