Ch 43 A Good Day Turned Bad...

(This took a bit longer than intended. Sorry.)

Exiting the the portal from Marineford and closing it behind him, Leo burst out laughing. "Hahaha! Oh man, that was fucking fun! I should have done that ages ago!"

Meanwhile, the crew were still shocked while looking at him. Even the girls were a little bit shocked, considering they weren't expecting him to suddenly anounce that he is taking over world.

Eventually, they did regain some composure and Usopp managed to utter a question most of them had. "You were kidding, right?"

Sounding like he was hoping it was a joke, Usopp almost seemed unwilling to believe what had happened.

Leo grinned, tilting his head back a bit. "Of course not. I fully intend on commit to my statement."

"Why?" Zoro raised an eyebrow in question. He didn't really think Leo would be the type to want to rule the world.

"Why not? I can make this world a better place and would like to do so." Seriousness laced his voice and they could see the commitment in his expression.

His demeanor then relaxed as he continued talking. "Besides, I'm already half way there anyways. I've sent clones all over the world and they have killed an unbelievable amount of people, while saving others, so I doubt there will be many that oppose me."

Sanji lit up a cigarette and took a puff. "And what about the ones that do?"

"I'll beat them into submission. It's the only way fools know how to listen." Leo bared his teeth in a grin, excited at the notion and thought of beating people up.

Seeing Leo like this, Brook, as the latest member of the crew, couldn't help but ask something he had been wondering about. "Why do you become so sadistic at the prospect of conflict."

"Simply because I feel the 'need' to punish the sinful and for me, that often means causing physical harm. Though, sometimes I become cold and brutal, so who know." With little interest in the question, Leo answered his skeletal companion.

"It's almost like you have split personality." Reiju chipped in, a bit fascination.

Leo corrected her statement. "More like Cyclothymia or Bipolar Disorder, which causes extreme mood changes. Fortunately, it is primarily focused towards whenever I fight."

With that said, things went quiet, until Leo clapped his hands together.

"Anyways, we need to wait for Luffy to wake up, so I wanna go relax." He then looked to the girls. "Back to Amazon Lily?"

The girls nodded with smiles, so he clicked his fingers and a portal appeared, which they all entered. Before Leo entered, he made a clone and sent it to find two people, Law and Jewelry Bonney, in order get their Devil Fruit abilities via draining. The task was quickly accomplished and the clone dispelled, giving Leo the powers of the Op Op and Age Age fruit.

In regards to the Age Age fruit, he gain more time related power and it connected to his power to slow down time, giving it the effect of stagnation. In other words, the ability to completely stop time.

Leo was surprised that this happened, but wouldn't complain about it.

Currently, Leo was sitting the Palace courtyard, next to recently installed pool. He was feeding little cubes of meat to Naga while waiting for the girls.

When he asked the question, he saw Robin cover her mouth and giggled. "Nami~ Leo wants to know why you're hiding~!" She called out teasingly.

Robin's teasing was met with silence, but after a moment, Nami rigidly walked out into the open. What Leo saw when she came out, made him erupt in flames, and he almost pounced at her as he gulped down the saliva in his mouth.

"Fufu! You're right! But, then again, I suppose we ALL know how it was in the end~ If her shouts for more are anything to go off of~" Giving a closed eyed smile, Robin didn't even try to hide her teasing.

Nami had turned as red as a tomato from the realisation that everyone had heard her and Leo doing 'it', and felt like she was about to burst into tears from how shameless she had been at the time.

Leo had being watching this and felt a bit embarrassed himself, but need to save Nami from the others. Going behind her, he wrapped his arms around her, helping quickly calm down. "Okay, that's enough teasing for now. I don't think Nami can bare much more." The girls giggled and agreed.

With that done, they all went to eat breakfast. However, even though they agreed to stop teasing Nami, that didn't stop them from genuinely asking questions about the experience.

Receiving the questions, Nami was embarrassed still, but that didn't mean she was unwilling to share.

Leo watched this happening and had single thought cross his mind. 'Do all girls gossip like this after doing it...?'

Awhile later, they had all eaten and Nami had been mined for every detail the girls could get, and from hearing about the experience, they were eagerly anticipating the day they would be able to do it as well.

Considering it had been almost a full day since the whole Marineford war happened, Leo figured that Luffy should be awake by now and decided to go check on him with the girls. Not including the Boa trio.

Opening a portal, they walked through and arrived at Shakky's bar. Even though they had just arrived, they could already tell that Luffy was up, as they heard a huge ruckus happening inside. Mainly the rattling of plates...

With sighs of exasperation, they all entered the bar and saw Luffy basically inhaling food. Seeing that, beside the 'X' shaped scar on his chest, he was no different than normal, they stared blankly.

Spread out around the room, the guys were sitting and doing their own thing, while Rayleigh was sitting at the bar and Shakky was stood behind it cleaning a glass.

The rest of the crew noticed their arrival and called out in greeting. Leo and the girls returned the greeting, making their way over to some seats.

Leo sat near Zoro, still watching Luffy shove food into his mouth and asked him. "How long has he been eating for...?"

"The last three hours..." Sitting with his eyes closed, Zoro answered tiredly.

"..." Leo stared at Luffy's ever expanding stomach and didn't think it would stop anytime soon. 'Guess I'll just wait then...'

...

Much, MUCH later, Luffy stopped eating and patted his inflated stomach, causing ripples. "Ahh... That's better!"

Everyone sighed in relief, thankful that he had finally stopped. But then, he utter an outrageous sentence. "Now I'm ready for desert!"

Hearing this, everyone comically fell over, before shouting at him. "YOU'VE EATEN ENOUGH!!!"

Luffy grinned and started laughing at them. Pinching the bridge of his nose, Leo sighed tiredly. "If you're done, Luffy, you need to be filled in on what happened when you fell unconscious..."

The atmosphere of the room became serious, as Leo casually gave Luffy a dumbed down version of what happened.

Completely disregarding the fact that Leo had started a world conquest, Luffy stood up while slamming his hands on the table and shouting. "That's right! Where's Ace!? Is he okay!!?"

From the far corner of the room, Garp spoke up. "Stop being so loud, brat!... He's over here..."

Looking over, they saw Ace lying on a couch, while Garp sat on the floor next to him with his arms crossed. Luffy ran over and started checking on Ace, finding him to have a round-ish scar on his back and chest, but breathing fine.

Sighing in relief, he fell on his butt and grinned happily. "Shishi! Thank god, he's okay." He then turned his head to the others in the room while grinning. "Thanks for saving him you guys."

They smiled and told him that it was nothing while smiling. Luffy laughed for a moment, before looking at Ace curiously. "So, when will Ace wake up?"

Chopper walked over and sympathetically explained. "I don't know... He had a hole in his chest and although Leo healed him... He is in a coma."

"Oh..." Looking down sadly, Luffy didn't seem to know how to feel exactly. But, a thought occurred to him and he looked at Leo. "Leo, can you try to wake him up?"

Raising an eyebrow in surprise, Leo thought it was worth a shot, so he stood up and began walking over. "I can give it a shot."

As he neared Ace and got within 10ft, he suddenly stopped as he felt Divine energy flare up inside Ace. From the flare up, Ace groaned in pain, while his face contorted.

Quickly using his Observation Haki, Leo saw Divine lightning inside Ace's chests. Right now, it was just flaring up as a warning to Leo, but if were to get closer, then it would attack Ace's heart and soul.

Not wanting to push his luck and risk causing irreparable damage to Ace, he slowly backed away.

Luffy looked at him confused. "What's wrong?"

"I can't help him..." Looking Luffy apologetically, he continued. "If I even try to get closer than this, he'll die and his soul will be damaged, meaning revival won't be possible."

His words only seem confuse Luffy as he tilted his head in confusion. So, with a sigh, he went and sat back down.

"I guess it's about time that I explain some stuff, so get yourself comfortable or something." Rubbing the back of his neck, he began explaining. "Truth be told, I'm not from this world.

Opening with that bomb, the guys all looked at him in shock. "I can basically hop between worlds whenever I want, this world being the first I ever came to. But, as an intruder, so to speak, my actions tend to be against the natural flow of the World's Will or 'Fate'."

Letting his words sink in for a moment, he continued. "And when I do go against fate, the World tends to get pissed off and tries to correct what I change. In this case, preventing Ace's death, which resulted in a Divine lightning bolt trying to kill, but was stopped by my clone. So, as a last ditch effort, it's taken to keeping Ace out of the picture and me away from him."

In a shocked silence, everyone was processing his words. Except the girls, who already knew about Leo and the full truth about his powers.

After a while, a single word was said, which fully expressed the whole groups feeling on the matter. "Wow..."

Leo ended up staring at them blankly in disappointment. "'Wow'? That's it? I tell you I'm from a different world and that's how you react? You guys are boring..."

The girls giggled at him and Nami commented. "What can you expect? If anything, this all makes sense. When you consider how insanely strong you, all the different abilities you have and that none of it seems possible for it to be from a Devil Fruit, this is an extremely reasonable explanation."

"They are still boring..." Pouting like a child, Leo huffed to himself, before reverting a more calm and straightforward manner. "Anyways, I don't know when Ace will wake up, but it will probably be once certain criteria has been fulfilled."

"Is there really nothing that can be done?" Luffy asked Leo, a hopeful look in his eyes, but still prepared for the worst.

"Sorry, but I can't think of anything else..." Regretfully, Leo's answer was still a negative one.

Luffy looked at Ace sadly, before looking up with a grin. "Well, at least he's alive and will wake up someday."

Everyone stared at him silently, feeling bad for him as they saw he was hiding his sadness behind his smile.

Franky broke the silence by asking. "So, what are we going to do now? Continue to Fishman Island?"

Before Luffy could say anything, Rayleigh commented. "I wouldn't advise it."

Looking over to him, they were confused and waiting for an explanation, which he started to give. "Not counting Leo, you're all fairly strong and could hold you own in most cases, but without Haki, you'll eventually find yourselves at a disadvantage. Not to mention, those of you with Devil Fruits seem to have become a little weaker."

The Devil Fruit users, hearing that they had become weaker, were obviously confused. This was where Leo fessed up to unintentionally weakening them. "Yeah... Sorry, that's my bad."

Now they were looking at Leo, waiting for his explanation. "When I got the ability of the old guy that drains life force, it was coupled with my soul consumption ability and ripped off part of everyone's Devil Fruits. On the upside, you no longer have a weakness to water or seastone and you should be able to progress further than ever before, as your powers will fuse with you completely." As an example, he stretched arm over to the bar and then retracted it.

Luffy's eyes sparkled at the fact that there was now another stretchy person. "Cool!!!"

Meanwhile, Leo was thinking to himself, wondering whether he should say anything about what Luffys real power was. But, considering its Luffy, he would probably have a better time it figuring out, rather than being told.

He decide to stay silent about that for now and gave a suggestion instead. "Seen as you guys could use some training, why don't we take a couple years break from sailing and you can all train while learning Haki."

"It's not a bad idea" Nami nodded and agreed with him.

"Hmm... What do you guys think?" Luffy looked to the rest of the crew for their opinion and received agreements to taking time to train. Nodding in confirmation of the decision, he looked on with seriousness. "Okay then, that's what we'll do. We'll separate to train for two years and then come back here to continue our journey."

With that decided, Rayleigh then downed his drink and stood up. "Well then, Luffy, if you want, I will take charge in training you."

At the offer of being trained by the man that stood beside the King of the Pirates, Luffy was excited and immediately accepted.

"Well, that's great, but who are we gonna learn from?" Sanji commented while smoking.

"You could always go look for someone. Or I can send you to places you will likely learn it." Leo stated and after some discussion, they decided to go with the second option. So, after some preparations were complete, Leo used the Paw Paw fruits ability and sent the guys flying away.

Rayleigh had already taken Luffy and started leaving for some place else.

When that was done, he looked towards the girls. "I'm going to go sort some stuff out in regards to my conquest. When I get back, I'll help you all find a way to get the most out of these two years."

"Okay, Leo. Don't take too long." With waves from the girls, Leo opened a portal and stepped through it.

When he stepped out the portal, Leo looked below him and saw the Ex-Marines beginning to rebuild Marineford.

Before doing anything, he created hundreds of clones and sent them out to take control of the world, other than the second half of the Grandline.

When the clones left to carry out their tasks, Leo decided to make his presence know, by putting pressure on everyone and forcing their head to face him.

"Hello there~ Now, what might you be doing right now?" Speaking with a sickeningly sweet tone and an eerie smile, he instantly struck fear into them. "If I didn't know any better... I would say that you are rebuilding the disposed of Marine base."

Everyone below swallowed dryly, worried about what he would do to them.

"But why would you do that? After all, if you did, that would hurt me..." Speaking sadly, Leo had closed his eyes and placed his hand on his chest, before looking at them and releasing a murderous aura. "You all wouldn't try and hurt me, now would you!?"

Down below, they began to feel suffocated by his aura, but one person managed to speak up. "Tch! Why are you really here, Reaper?"

Leo looked at the one who spoke and saw Smoker, with Tashigi holding her sword tightly from nervousness. He decided to release them from his aura and all round presence, grinning at Smoker. "Sup, Smoker? Been awhile..."

Smoker growled in annoyance, but Leo didn't care and continued. "Anyways, you should already know why I'm here... I said it yesterday, the World Government is no longer in control and the Marines are no more."

"... So, you were serious about that..." Smoker scowled, not being happy about the situation.

"I don't like to lie, Smoker..." With a cold gaze, Leo stared through Smoker, sending a chill down his spine, before relaxing. "Which is why I'm here."

"Huh?" Confused by what he said, everyone looked at him, in wait of an explanation.

"Like I said, I would be creating a new organisation, which would assist in protecting the peace I will create." Stating his reason for being there simply, he didn't wait for them to process it and continued. "Those of you that want to join, may do so. The specifics will be explained later, but the main thing to be known, is that anybody that abuses their position will suffer the consequences of betraying me."

For the most part, the Ex-Marines were just frightened of Leo and wanted to get far, far away from him. But, for the others; the ones that had always wanted true justice, the ones that hated the way the Marines were and thought this might be good change or were simply interested in his proposition, they stood silently and stared at Leo.

Seeing them divided into two groups, Leo spoke up. "Those that want to hear me out, raise your hands."

Following his command, Smoker, Tashigi, all the people he had got from Impel Down and a few thousand others raised their hands.

"Alright then." With a thought, he lifted those same people into the air, opening portals and sending them through them. He then looked at the rest. "I suggest you all return home and find new jobs..."

He then went into his dimension, the one that Usopp was trained, which is where he had put all the recruits. Though, he had made the passage of time equal to the outside.

They were in a clearing and Leo decided to take a seat on a big rock. "You all might as well take a seat and I'll begin explaining what you can expect."

Waiting for them to get comfortable, he noticed that the stronger ones stayed, but didn't bother questioning it and began his explanation, creating hundreds of projections above and around them. "As we speak, my clones are spreading around the world and taking control. They are killing ràpists and murderers, while also reassigning positions of power to those of more 'acceptable' personage."

One of the less powerful people gathered his courage and raised his hand in question, so Leo permitted him to speak. "If you can do all this alone, which you clearly can..." He and the other glanced to the screens and shivered at the slaughtering, and then continued. "Why do you need- no, want us to work for you?"

His question was actually on the minds of many others.

Smiling a bit, Leo answered. "Simple, I don't actually want control over the world."

Confusion spread across the recruits as they wondered what was the point of all this. Fortunately, Leo wasn't done. "I have never cared about ruling others. My main goal is to simply kill sinful, terrible people and create a better environment for the future generations, so that they don't get corrupted by the filth of the past."

Hearing this, a lot of stuff made sense. When you consider Leo's strength, he could easily take over the world.

Leo on the other hand, shook his head with disappointment. "Unfortunately, to sin is in humanities nature and it is impossible to remove. So, the answer is to control it... And that's where you will all come in!" He finished by pointing at them.

But, yet again, they were confused and waiting for further explanation. "You will be 'Envoys of Justice'! When a crime is committed, you all will be tasked to apprehend the suspects and deliver them to a jail, where they will await a court session, in which I will be leaving clones to judge a person's sins and serve out justice.

For minor crimes, like petty theft, they will serve time in prison. For major crimes, like murder, depending on circumstances, punishment will vary. And for ràpists, they will be suffering until I and their victims are satisfied." A sharp gleam past through his eyes, but quickly disappeared.

"Plus, this plan serves to benefit all of you and future members, as it maintains jobs while providing income for you and your families." He smile as he spoke, somewhat kindly, making them all realise he was thinking about others and wasn't the monster they thought him to be.

Leo then stopped smiling and looked at them seriously, making them gulp nervously. "But!... If any of you betray my expectations, there WILL be consequences!"

They all nodded, some more nervous than others.

Seeing this, he relaxed a bit. "Now, it is time for you to truly decide whether or not you will be joining. If not, then leave." Making a portal off to the side, he waited to see what they would do, but when no one moved, he smiled and closed the portal. "Okay then, with that decided, I will tell you your first assignment. Training! For the next two months, you will all stay here and train."

He went on to give them the same explanation as Usopp and told them that he wants them to learn the Rokushiki and if possible, Haki. Then, he finished off with. "And you needn't worry about the passage of time. This place is special, two months will only be an a or so outside. So, make sure to focus on your training and do your best!"

After he finished, he received a resounding salute and then left the dimension, changing the time acceleration so that they would be done training tomorrow, giving him extra time to settle some other matters.

Now that he was done with that, he moved on to another objective. The eradication of the Celestial Dragons!

Shooting to the sky, he spread his Observation Haki out and located Mary Geoise, the so called 'Holy Land', and flew towards it at the speed of light.

When he arrived, he tried to find the remaining members of the Five Elders, his attempt was disrupted by the world and storm clouds began gathering out of nowhere.

"Tch!" Clicking his tongue in annoyance, he decided to let it be for now and do what he intended.

Pointing his hand at Mary Geoise, he did an upward sweep, lifting all the buildings and people from the Red Line. He made the buildings crumble apart and reveal all the ones within.

As he looked over everyone, all he felt was rage and disgust. The fat and greedy Celestial Dragons, and the thin, barely functioning slaves. Not even children were spared...

Bursting into flames, he changed forms and simultaneously ripped apart the slave collars, freeing them as he moved them off to the side and directed his rage towards the pigs.

Lifting his arms to them, he shot out and used every power at his disposal, making sure the hurt them in EVERY way he possibly could and healing them to create a never ending loop of torture.

For the moment, he did this in front of the freed slaves to try and give them some sense that vengeance was being served. They themselves, did indeed feel that way as relief washed over them and they cried at finally being free.

Once he felt they had seen enough, he stopped torturing the filth, but kept them alive. He made a clone for each of them and sent them to the dimension where Spandam was still receiving punishment for what he did to Robin. While doing this, he decided to have the clone in charge of Spandams treatment disperse, swapping him for a new one with the more recently acquired abilities.

With the pigs gone, he gently lowered himself and the others to the ground, reverting to his normal form. "I know you all must be confused, but all you need to know, is that you are free and will never have to worry about being enslaved again. Now, I am going to use a blue flame that will heal you, so don't be alarmed."

Producing Angel Flames on his palm, he had it carefully and slowly stream toward them, healing all damage they had sustained and removing their slave marks.

When he was done, he retracted the flames and looked at the children amongst the group. Lowering himself to the kids level, he got on one knee and spoke gently. "Little ones, I can get rid of the memories of all the horrible things, is that okay?"

Some kids nodded desperately, while others looked to specific adults and received nods of encouragement, before they agreed.

Nodding in confirmation, Leo stared at them and focused a little, sweeping through their minds and erasing the most horrible memories.

Unfortunately, this meant he had to see and feel their emotions linked to the memories. Almost all of them had experienced something too shocking to even speak of, making him want to puke, despite being incapable of doing so.

Tears fell down his face, as he felt unbearable sad for them. Once he was done, he made them fall asleep and floated them above the ground.

Putting his hood up, he looked away from the group of people while opening a portal next to them, leading to his dimension in an area where time will be stopped and said. "I will transport you anywhere you want to go, just head through there and I will get to each of you..."

The people, seeing no reason to distrust their saviour, began making their way inside. But, not before hearing him say one more thing. "I promise you all, they will suffer for an eternity for what they have done!" They then continued inside while crying gratefully.

When they were all inside, Leo closed the portal and stood silently for a moment, before screaming into the sky and letting out his sorrow, hate, rage and feelings of regret for not being able to truly stop any of this from happening.

The storm clouds above were swept away by the force of his emotions and the world trembled as it seemingly became darker, regardless of the time of day.

Once he had released his emotions, he looked down at the ground, making a portal to Shakky's bar and weakly walking through it, before he lifelessly fell to his knees.

The girls became happy when they saw Leo return, but when they saw his current state, they obviously knew something was wrong. And when they saw something dropping on to the floor in front of him, they realised he was crying and shot over to see what was wrong.

"Leo, what's wrong!?!?" Nami instantly appeared in front of him and lift his face, worriedly looking at him. She hadn't seen him this bad since the time he opened up to her about how he felt.

Leo was made to look at her as tears streamed down his face. "H-how... How could someone-"

Seeing him unable to speak properly, they all realised whatever had happened, was truly awful. Nami hugged him and was swiftly joined by the girls.

Shakky was stood behind the bar with concern. 'What could have happened for HIM to be like this...?' (A/N: Not Harem!)

It took a really long time, but Leo eventually calmed down, but the sadness never left him.

He sat with a drink in front of him, completely untouched, despite him wishing that now, more than ever, he could get drunk.

Nami was sat beside him and stroking his back to comfort him. She was joined in trying to comfort him by the rest of the girls, including Hancock, Sandersonia and Marigold, who Robin had retrieved after asking Leo to open a portal to Amazon Lily.

Naga was sitting in his lap, looking up at him, worried about her father. {Papa...}

"Leo... could you tell us what happened...?" Carefully holding his hand, Robin asked him.

Leo just continued staring at the drink in front of him for a while, but eventually began speaking. "Celestial... Dragons..."

Hearing these two words, the group of girls could more or less guess what happened. Hancock and her sisters were even more aware of what he was distraught about, their own trauma resurfacing a bit. This did get Leo's attention however, as he finally looked up from his drink and towards them.

"They... did such horrible things... to children! I saw their memories... I felt how they felt! How could anyone do that!!?" He banged on the table and shouted, tears in the corners of his eyes.

He turned his gaze back to his drink, his rage and hatred gathering once more. "No one should have to suffer like that..."

His drink started to bubble and boil under his heated gaze. "Those... Scum! They will never stop suffering for as long as I have them!" The heat from his gaze became too much and the the glass melted, while the liquid inside evaporated.

Understanding more than the others how Leo is feeling about the matter, Hancock and her sisters hugged him tightly, while Nami moved aside for them. "W-we know, Leo... They aren't even worth considering as people... But, you've taken care of them now and no one will have to suffer like that again."

Leo knew otherwise however. There was an entire multiverse of people just like them, including alternative universes of One Piece, where the exact same thing was happening. And, even if he were to go to other universes, nothing would change. Whichever universe he enters, will automatically become another AU after all...

In the end, all he can do, is live with the regret that he can't do anything about it.

Doing the only thing he could do at this moment, he pushed the memories into the deepest region of his psyche and sealed them away. He would never forget that they were there or what they held, but he wouldn't be tormented by them for the rest of time, which is what he felt it would be like...

With that done, he felt better, but still was in a terrible state, so he just decided to hug his loved ones tightly.

Before the day ended he and the girls had moved over to Amazon Lily. When night came, the all slept in the same bed to keep Leo company. Even Reiju wasn't an exception, but Leo didn't say anything about it and just appreciated the concern they all had for him.
