Game Of Thrones : Merchant of Two Worlds

Jason Liu, an ordinary man who unexpectedly gains the ability to travel through time and space, finds himself able to journey between modern-day Earth and the world of Game of Thrones. With this unique power, he begins to transport supplies between the two realms, introducing the cheap commodities of the modern world to Westeros while bringing back raw materials to Earth. As trade flourishes, Jason’s ventures cause an unprecedented economic boom in both worlds, drastically increasing their GDPs. However, as he amasses wealth and power through his monopoly over this interdimensional trade, Jason's ambitions grow. No longer content with merely being a smuggler between two worlds, he sets his sights on Westeros itself, determined to carve out his place amid the chaos and power struggles that define the realm.

53. Commodities are sold

Lina clapped her hands, her large, beautiful eyes shining, and said confidently, "Natural gold needs to be refined before it can be sold, but you're buying it at a high price without that step, saving them the trouble of refining it. So, someone will definitely sell you a natural gold nugget!"

"How many gold nuggets are actually in Westeros, I don't really know," Martha said, holding little Lillian in her arms. She frowned slightly and added, "Maybe there are plenty in the West, since everyone knows the Western lands are full of gold mines. They say you can find gold just by digging."

Jason Liu didn't believe such exaggeration. Sure, the Westerlands were rich in gold, but it wasn't as over-the-top as the rumors suggested. If Duke Tywin Lannister's toilets were made of gold, wouldn't they be freezing cold when he sat down?

Instead of getting distracted by the thought, Jason ordered the three Barlow brothers, along with McCann and dicken, to head to Winter Town. Their job was to spread the word in the pubs and markets: Jason was buying natural gold at a high price, paying in pure gold.

"Buying raw gold for the price of pure gold? Is this for real?" The merchants who heard the news were skeptical.

"Who would do such a dumb thing? Buying unrefined gold at the price of pure gold is just bad business!" one of them grumbled.

"But this is Lord Jason Easter we're talking about. It must be true."

"Oh, him! That lord's not from Westeros, so maybe he does things differently."

"What's so different? Maybe he's got more going on down below, haha!"

The joke caused the whole tavern to erupt in laughter. The merchants from the Westerlands were particularly excited. Even though natural gold nuggets were rare, there were still some to be found, and they saw this as a great chance.

Many small merchants didn't have enough capital to buy gold nuggets themselves, but they knew if they could sell them to Jason, they could use the money to buy gel pens and white paper from his shop. Rumor had it that Eddard Stark, the Lord of Winterfell, loved using them.

Meanwhile, far away, the first batch of traders who had bought these goods from Jason were returning to their homes. One such merchant, Carlo, arrived at the Twins in the Riverlands, where Walder Frey, the 90-year-old head of House Frey, made a rare exception to meet him.

"Your name is Carlo, right?" Lord Walder sat high on his seat in the hall, his bony hand holding a gel pen. His wrinkled face squinted slightly as he stared at the kneeling merchant.

Known as "Late Lord Frey" by some for his habit of siding with the winning side in conflicts, Walder Frey had a reputation for opportunism. Yet, his family's position on the river crossings made them wealthy, and despite his behavior, the Freys were one of the most powerful houses in the Riverlands.

Carlo, standing nervously before him, replied, "Yes, my lord, I am Carlo, your humble servant."

Lord Walder raised a hand slightly. His 16-year-old wife, who was sitting nearby, quickly handed him a glass of wine. After a sip, he spoke again.

"Carlo, this gel pen is a marvel. It's far more convenient than the quill, and it saves me the trouble of constantly dipping it in ink. You've done well bringing it to me."

Carlo, trembling with excitement, bowed deeply. "It is my greatest honor to serve you, my lord."

Walder, having heard countless flatteries from his own children and grandchildren, merely nodded. "I've bought all the pens and paper you brought, though it's not much. It'll do for now."

Carlo sold ten gel pens, thirty refills, and fifty sheets of white paper to the Freys. After making more than eight times his initial investment, Carlo hurried back to Jason's market town, eager to buy more supplies.

At the same time, another merchant, Anthony Guyton, who had purchased Jason's first batch of soap bars, had just returned to King's Landing. After resting from his long sea voyage, he prepared to visit Renly Baratheon, the youngest brother of King Robert, to show him these new goods.
