  Jenna Brooks's POV

  "Exactly, Jenna. Olivia's really manipulative."

How could Olivia try to gas light me? I thought we were friends! I pursed my lips and clenched my fists into tight ball. Try as I might, I could not contain my anger. Within seconds, I erupted like a volcano.

"How could she be so shallow? How could she try to manipulate me? I thought we were friends? We had lunch together! We skipped PE together! We made fun of the art teacher's bulging glasses together! I tell her literally everything! I stopped wearing glasses because she said I was way more pretty without them…oh my God! Was that a lie to?…"

Conrad didn't say anything. He just glared at me.

"Why aren't you saying anything?"

"Let it all out, shortstuff."

I felt a familiar flutter in my stomach. He called me shortstuff? That was his nickname for me when we were kids. He hasn't called me that since I came to Fox Lane and i thought he had forgotten about it. But I was wrong! I have never been more happy about being wrong.

"I think we should call it a night! It's almost midnight and we have school tomorrow." Conrad said, getting on his feet.

He took my hand and helped me up even though I saw no reason why that was necessary. But I still felt special anyway.

"Thanks a lot, Conrad. For…err…everything."

"It's fine, Jenna. That's what friends are for." He replied.

I was a little happy he called me his friend. I've successfully climbed up the ladder and left the sister zone.

"More wins, Jenna," my inner voice whispered. Oh my God, it's alive! My inner voice is alive! It haven't been talking to me for a while now and I thought it was gone. It probably ran for its life. There's only too much it could take.

"I'm glad you're back," I said rather to loudly.

Conrad furrowed his eyebrows, "Huh?"

Fuck! He heard me! He's going to think I'm a weirdo mere moments after i entered the friend zone.

"I mean…I'm glad you're back to being my friend."

"Me too,"

The walk back to my room was awkward, mostly because Conrad insisted on walking me to my room. He stopped by the door and smiled.

"Good night, shortstuff." He whispered in the most romantic way anyone could say good night.

"Good…night."

"Sweet dreams," he said, or I think he said. I didn't really know what he was saying. And I didn't entirely care. I was too busy in my head thinking if this could be the right time to kiss.

'Snap out of it, Jenna!' My inner voice yelled. What would I do without it?

"You too," I finally replied.

I watch him walk down the hallway and into his room. I entered my room and shut the door behind me.

I walked to my bed and sat down on it. I don't know why in movies women always shut the door and then lean against it after the guy leaves. Bed sitting is much more natural.

I sat there, going over it all in my mind. I couldn't help but feel queasy, in an uncomfortable but good way. Best night ever!

My phone screen lit up and I grabbed it, it was a text from Pstar7. OMG! I thought he had blocked me after I found out he's a student of Fox Lane High.

Pstar7: 'How did you figure it out? I deleted the photo immediately I uploaded it.'

Me: 'I'm a big fan of yours, I kinda caught on pretty fast.'

Pstar: 'Since you know we attend the same school, we might as well complete the cycle. How about we meet?"

Oh my goodness! Pstar7 wants to meet me? A celebrity like him with over 700k followers? This night couldn't get any better!!!

Me: 'It would be nice to put a face to the name.'

Pstar7: 'Cool it, sas squat! It's not that easy, you know.'

Me: 'What do you mean?'

Pstar7: 'I'll only give you a hint. Then you can figure out the rest on your own.'

Me: 'Sure.'

Pstar8: 'I'm actually a member of the drama club at school. That's all I can give you. Good night'

What??? The drama club has at least a hundred members, how am I supposed to find him?!

****************

  Next day…

"Drama club is no longer accepting new members." Tiffany, the drama club president said before she walked back into the club room and slammed the door on my face.

How could she be so mean? I don't even know her! I only found out her name from Liam this morning when I told him I was interested in joining the drama club. Speaking of which, where is he? He said he was going to help me convince Tiffany since he's been in the drama club since junior year.

"How did it go?" I heard Liam's voice reverberate through the hallways as he jogged to my side. He was wearing his football wear and he was all sweaty and…i don't know, hot?

He stopped next to me to catch his breath, "How did it go?" he asked again.

"I wouldn't be standing outside the club room if I actually went well, would I?" I asked, then lazily rolled my eyes. "You promised to help me get in, remember?"

"I'm so sorry, I had football practice."

"Sure, Liam. I just need you to talk to Tiffany. She was so mean to me just now!"

He leaned again the wall, running his fingers through his tousled hair, "Leave it to me, Jenna. Let my bad boy charm do the trick. You just have to wait out here while I go in."

"Wait, I'm not allowed to enter the drama club room?"

"Yes, you're not a member."

"What are you guys, a cult?" I said with a scoff.

"You'll find out soon."

Liam walked into the club room while I stood outside in anticipation. What's so special about drama club? I just need to join in order to find my prince charming, Pstar7. I mean one of my many prince charmings.

About five minutes later, Liam was out and I knew from the look on his face that it didn't go well.

"It's been decided, Jenna. You can't join the club until next session."

Next session? That's like in three months! How was I supposed to live with myself?

"I'll find a way, Liam." I said, placing one hand on his shoulder.

"Oh, please, Jenna. If my bad boy charm couldn't help you, trust me, nothing can." He replied with a smirk.

"We'll see about that."

"I need to get back to practice. Bye." He said, pinched my left cheek gently and waltzed away.

"Ouch," I whined, dramatically.

After he was out of sight, I rested on the wall and took a deep breath.

'Don't give up, Jenna. You can do this! For Pstar7!" My inner voice screamed in my head.

"For Pstar7! We can do this!" I replied, rather too loudly.

"I can help you get into the drama club," I heard that voice say. At first, I thought it was my inner voice but it wasn't. It was definitely a human.
