Battle for dress
She was startled after hearing that she has to attend a party soon after she decided to start facing the world.
Yes, it was her decision to face it but wasn't it a bit, too fast to suddenly attend a party?
She looked at her parents with her troubled face. There was no way she was going to give up but alas…
Her mother sat back on the sofa, feeling her temple to show her stressed schedule, "We know its hard but its an important birthday ball of a business client. It was originally for your brother to attend but now…".
She let out a deep sigh of distress and shook her head. Mr. Cress sat beside her and patted her head.
Their tensed look was more like an emotional blackmail toward Cynthia who just came back from college.
Cynthia squeezed shut her eyes while thinking deeply when her mother said, "We are heading off to the capital tonight for an important business and there might be some chances that we will find your brother there".
Mr. Cress continued after his wife, "if not for this, we wouldn't had asked you to attend at tomorrow birthday party".
With a saccharine smile, Cynthia shook her head, "No problem. Since, I was the one who decided to be the temporary hire… I will definitely fulfil my part of work. Please feel free to give me more works".
Both her parents exchanged glances with each other and gave a hand gesture toward Aunty Crox.
It didn't take her more than two minutes before bringing Mr. and Mrs. Cress luggage.
Ah… so, they already did their packing and were just waiting for my approval. I underestimated them!
A sudden realization struck her until her mother gave her a hug and patted her head while saying, "You are our best daughter. We believe in you, so do your best".
Like a speed rocket, they both left the house almost worried that Cynthia might change her mind in midst.
Cynthia, who was left alone with Aunty Crox gave a dry smile to her.
"Young miss, don't worry. The dresses and gifts are already prepared, you just have to go and pick your dress from the shop after checking its size and that's all," Aunty Crox said it with a bright smile as if her wishes were coming true but by now Cynthia dry smile fades into air.
What left was her parted lips and hazy eyes.
Later after having something to eat, she took the car keys and in the sports car which was her brother favourite car, she left to quickly finish her work before going to bed and falling into a deep slumber.
She walked out of her car and entered the Barde shop. It was the shop famous for its prom dress and the sells rate were currently highest of this store.
Cynthia was still wearing her spectacle since it was the easiest way to identify any person.
The two-storey building had that princess like feeling painted in light pink faux and garnished it properly to meet rich people standard and after she stepped inside the shop she noticed that she was not the only customer.
There was someone else and that person was very familiar.
It was Ricky Norton and Arial Felix. They both were deciding their dress and maybe for the same party as Cynthia.
Cynthia remembered Ricky brusque behaviour and facing her again was excruciating to her peaceful soul.
Her gut feeling screamed - she could not go back home without having a fight.
And it happened.
The assistance of the shop owner who looked like a small squirrel greeted her with a smile and asked, "May I know what kind of dress you are here to buy. I can help you choose".
She looked rather frail and quick while smiling and talking in a rush.
Her hands and legs never stopped moving even for a second and Cynthia knew that she was like a restless squirrel in a pony tail.
Her words yanked the two haughty girl attention who were standing in front of a dress hung properly to show its elegance.
They gave a dubious look at Cynthia.
"I am from the Cress family to check the size and bring back the dress ordered by my parents".
Cynthia ignored the two-girl disgusted gaze and said as she looked down at the assistant.
"Oh my god! Cynthia? No… Ms. Cress. You are finally here! I was waiting for you for quite a while," she almost jumped in happiness as she said while still moving left and right.
After grabbing Cynthia left arm, she took her to the dress hanging in front where both Arial and Ricky were standing.
"Look, do you like it? As per Mr. and Mrs. Cress instructions, we made it for you and it will perfectly suit you. Now hurry up and try it on". She looked more excited than Cynthia herself.
Ricky sneered holding the dress made for Cynthia, "This beautiful dress will be insulted if dressed by an ugly and foolish girl. Let me buy it instead".
