Visions in the smoke

A tall, red-haired sorceress looked over her fire, waiting for the spirit to appear.

"Spirit from beyond, show yourself, show me what I want to see," her words echoed.

From the smoke arose a gray skeleton-like spirit that levitated above her.

WHAT DO YOU SEEK, an unearthly voice demanded.

"Show me the King of Shaidur," she replied.

YOU WILL SEE HIM.

An old man appeared from the smoke, brows heavy with worry. On his head a crown shinned. A man stands behind him.

OLD FOOL, HIS PRIME IS LONG GONE. WHAT DO YOU SEEK NOW?

"The Dragon himself."

A tall figure, dressed in a strange armor decorated with a horned helm, appeared from the smoke. Behind him a dragon appeared from the mist, green and yet crimson with yaws opened wide.

The man moved his head. Underneath the helm a strong face appeared. Silently, he muttered something and in an instance the vision was gone.

Many miles away, a man by the name Illean, lifted his head from the table. Swollen eyes looked at the place around him.

The Dragon has appeared again. I never imagined that I will feel it in my life. The Dragon has appeared.

The Dragon banner will fly again.
