Ch 42 : You Should have Kissed her Ted

"These guy's think I should have kissed her, what do you think?" Ted asked Barney, but before he could have answered Logan stepped away from the bar and took a seat at their table, the twins soon followed after him but because of Logan taking the last seat there wasn't any more room so they just shrugged together at the same time and then hopped onto Logan's lap, laying their backs against his chest, they looked like they were quite comfy.

"I think you should have kissed her." Logan said to the surprised Ted, surprised that a giant man had suddenly sat down at their table and appeared to have been listening into their conversation as well.

"You should have kissed her." The twins also said but they said it at the same time before they then took a sip from their glasses.

Barney seeing Ted's, Marshall's and Lily's confused faces decided to introduce Logan and the twins that were both drinking a glass of white wine in Logan's lap, "This is Logan White-Black and his two girlfriends, Hestia and Flora. We actually became great friends when Ted went all starry eyed for what's-her-name." Barney explained before he then took a sip from the whiskey glass in his hand as well.

"It's nice to meet you all." Logan said as he shook each of their hands, even when they were still a little dazed and just shook his hand on instinct, "I guess I should give you my congratulation now, to the happy couple!" Logan said to Marshall and Lily, raising his whiskey glass to them before taking a sip, Barney was in time with him as were the twins but the rest quickly acted to catch up to the toast.

There was a small silence after the toast but that was before Ted suddenly whined, "She didn't even give me the signal!" Ted complained.

"The signal? What's the signal?" Flora asked aloud, looking confused as did Hestia, they were from an even older age then the current one they were in and so wasn't in the know of what the present worlds little bit's and bobs that differed from their own age, it didn't help that they came from the magical world that was even further back in time.

"It's the look girls give a guy when they want them to kiss them." Lily explained with a smile to the confused looking twins.

"Oh~" The twins exclaimed together, Flora then said, "I just thought that if I girl wanted to kiss a guy they would just do it, like this." She said before she grabbed Logan's face and brought it down to her level and gave him a very heated kiss, when she stopped Hestia took her place and did just the same as her sister.

The rest couldn't help but open their mouths in a little bit of shock when they saw the three-some start kissing, they all thought that Barney was joking when he said that both of the twins were dating Logan at the same time.

"They're right. What? Did you expect her to go "Ted ... Kiss me." While she was batting her eyes at you? No! You just kiss her, like this." Barney said before he suddenly grabbed Marshall's face and kissed him, "Did Marshall give me the signal?" He asked Ted.

"No! I didn't! I swear!" Marshall said looking to his new fiancée who just gave him a small smile and patted his knee in understanding.

"But, see, at least tonight I get to sleep knowing that Marshall and me, never gonna happen." Barney explained.

"I should have kissed her." Ted said in defeat, "Well maybe in a week, once she gets back from Orlando." Ted tried to reason.

"Forget it, a week is like a year in hot girl time." Barney said before the twins raised their glasses in acknowledgement, they were both equally hot girls after all.

"Mark my words ... You will never see that one again." Barney said before Ted then said, "There she is!" He said pointing to the TV that was above the bar.

Robin was on the screen reporting some news, "Oh, she's cute! Hey, Carl! Turn it up!" Lily said to the barman.

"I'm going to go kiss her. Right now." Ted said after suddenly standing up, Marshall looked at him with exhaustion, "Look dude, it's midnight. As your future lawyer, I'm going to advice you that's freakin' crazy."

"I never do anything crazy. I'm always waiting for the moment, planning for the moment. Well she's leaving tomorrow! This maybe the only moment I'm going to get! I've got to do what that guy couldn't!" He said pointing at the TV, "I've got to take the leap!" He then realised what he said after when he saw all the looks he was getting from his friends, "Okay, not a perfect metaphor, for me it's fall in love and get married, for him it's ... death." Ted said with regret.

"Actually that is a perfect metaphor." Barney said as he raised his drink again to Lily and Marshall who knew what he was trying to say and Lily gave him a shake of her head.

"I'm doing this." Ted said as he walked off, turning back when he heard Lily say that she and Marshall would come as well, they all looked back at Barney and the three-some, "You guy's coming?" They asked.

"Why not, it will be interesting to see if you actually do kiss her." Logan said as the twins hopped off his lap as he stood up, "Barney you coming?" Logan asked him, already knowing what he would say next.

"Only under one condition!" He exclaimed loudly.

"I can't believe you suited up! This is totally going in my blog!" Barney said in excitement. They were all crammed into a taxi, all the girls were on Logan's lap in the back, even Lily was sitting on his lap, while Marshall and Barney were crammed into the one and a half seat that was remaining in the back next to them. Ted was in a suit in the front passenger seat.

"Stop the car! Pull over right here!" Ted told the taxi driver, once they stopped Ted hopped out of the car and rushed into a restaurant, everyone looked at each other in confusion, Ted came rushing back out with a blue French horn in his hand, the people that were shouting after him from the restaurant made it clear that he had just stolen it, "Go! Go! Go!" Ted shouted at the driver, who quickly put his foot down on the gas.

"Everybody brings flowers." He said like it explained why he had just committed a crime.

The rest just gave him uncertain nods.

They had finally arrived at Robins apartment, Ted got out and once they saw that he went in Barney climbed into the front seat, Lily moved over to Marshall's lap and the guys got to stretch out their legs a bit.

"Let's head back to the bar, Ted's probably going to be awhile." Logan recommended, the twins nodded their heads as well. Soon they were on their way back to the bar.

"And that was it." Ted said retelling the story of what happened after they had left, everyone looked at him with defeat, "What?" Ted looked at them confused.

"That was the signal! That long lingering hand shake? You should have kissed her!" Lily raged at him, mad at him for his stupidity.

"There's no such thing as "the signal". But, yeah, that was the signal." Barney said to Ted, Logan and the twins also nodded their heads.

"Signal." Said the taxi driver that had joined them all for a drink at the bar after taking them back.

Carl suddenly came over with a tray that had a bottle of champagne and wine glasses, Carl grabbed Ted's shoulder, "By the way, you should have kissed her." He said before walking back off, Ted called after him "Carl!" He whined.

He then turned back to the others, "You guy's weren't there!" Ted complained before there was a sudden pop from the champagne in Marshall' hands and a smack sound from the inside of Logan's raised hand, he dropped the cork onto the table, "Careful where you point that thing, yeah?" Logan said to Marshall who looked at Logan with amazement, amazed that he had managed to catch the cork, even when just a second ago his hand were still resting on his lap, well the twin's lap.

Marshall started pouring the drinks while Ted continued, "Trust me, that wasn't the signal!"

"Yeah. Ted, we're not on you anymore." Barney said picking up a wine glasses, everyone else followed his action.

"To my fiancée." Marshall toasted.

"To the future." Lily continued.

"To one hell of a night!" Ranjit, the taxi driver, said to finish the toast and they all brought their glasses together with smiles on their faces.

Before they could even take a sip Ted whined again, "That was not the signal!" Everyone just ignored him this time.

"So what do you guy's think of this world so far?" Logan asked the twins after they got back from celebrating in the bar.

"It was fun to live through what we had watched in the show." Flora said as she got dressed for bed.

"Yeah, I liked Lily as well, I think that we could really get along with her as well." Hestia added after.

After Logan and the twins had left the bar, the rest was still sitting in the bar, Lily suddenly spoke up, "Alright listen up! I want you all to be on your best behaviour around Logan and the twins! I never have any girl friends and the twins are just perfect! Small, sweet and nice! Just like me! Now, promise me that you'll keep all your guy-ness to a minimum. I want to here you swear!" Lily made Ted and Barney promise.

They huffed before saying "I swear." In a defeated tone together at the same time, even Ranjit joined in "I swear." He said and the others looked at him with a chuckle on their faces.
