Chapter 49: Do or Die
Claire
Ugh. I can feel my body shaking as cold water is splashed onto my face.
“Wake up, princess. Your prince charming is here to save you. Well, at least he tried to.” I open my eyes and see Dexter kneeling before me laughing.
I turn my head to the right and see Richard sitting in a chair with a rope tied around him.
Dexter walks over to Richard and pulls a black cloth from around his mouth.
“Say hi to your boyfriend, Claire.” Dexter takes his gun and shoves it into Richard’s cheek.
“No. Please don’t.” I scream as tears run down my eyes.
“Aww. Is it love, Claire? How sweet." He takes his gun and hits Richard across the face with it. Richard’s face drops to his chest.
“What do you want?” I shout.
“I told you to stay out of my business but you didn’t listen. At first I only wanted the hotel. Business is booming and well, we need a place to launder our money.” Dexter walks towards me and laughs as he waves his gun in my face.
