Chapter 6

When I opened my eyes, I was lying on a bed in an unknown room.

As I looked around the room for a bit, This wasn't the room of evolution or even my own room. Panicking I started to see through all the things in room.

As I was looking through the stuff, I looked at the mirror and was stunned.

"Wha. . . .haaaaah!"

The face reflected on the mirror wasn't mine and even the body, the clothes, none of it was mine except one thing.

I still had my case hanging on my left earing. That was a relief.

The other shocking thing was that, I could see the sun through the window and it was a beautiful morning.

' But on Dyres there is no star to revolve around and there is no days as it is always surrounded by darkness. Which means I'm on another planet inside the body of someone else!!! '

[ Calm down Rey, this is the evolution process I was talking about. Don't panic, it will be quite fun experience ]

As soon as I heard Jerry's voice I felt somewhat relieved but there were still plenty doubts.

" What is going on? where are we? and why am I like this? what do you mean by this is the evolution process? "

[ Whoahhh!! slow down Rey, I'll answer every thing I can. So for starters, We are on planet Solaris currently.]

"I've never heard of it, is it one of the secret colonies?" I asked as this was the first time I heard about this planet.

[No, this is not a colony of Earth. Infact we aren't even in your universe. Think of it like an alternate reality and the person you are possessing right now is you but from this reality. Do you get it!!! ]

" WHAT THE ?? , what's going on and where is my real body? . . . . . . . . And how am I here in the first place?" I was so confused and shocked that I cursed involuntarily. This whole fiasco was too much for me and I desperately needed answers.

[ Listen, your real body is still in the evolution tank, so don't worry about that. This is an alternate universe and there are atleast four such universes in which you have your alternate self. For a Nitros to evolve, we need special energies. This energy is called 'Fate Energy'.]

[ The only way we can get this energy is by making our host do something against their fate directly or indirectly. For all the other Vicers, the evolution takes them to a dungeon or a puzzle land which they have to clear. This is the indirect ways for their nitros. Since the early evolutions doesn't need much energy, this method is the way to go for all the nitros and hence this other method was never used. ]

[ But as I already told you that I am an irregular , so the energy I need to complete the first evolution is equivalent to other's 3-4th evolution. And hence to get this huge amount of energy I made you enter your alternate self. Don't ask why as that is not something I should tell you right now. ]

" So what do I have to do to complete the first evolution? And do I have to come back in this body again for the other times as well? " Although I still did not buy Jerry's explanation, I still decided to believe it. Afterall not long ago I was just a regular office worker and since then I've already come a long way.

[ I knew you will catch on soon. . . Anyway for the first evolution all you have to do is survive for 6 months. Stay alive for half a year and you will be transferred back to your body.]

[ OH and don't worry about time as 6 months here equals to 30 days in Dyres. So you will not miss out the deadline of Evolution room.]

"That's a relief, but isn't it too easy. . . . I mean I just have to stay at home for 6 months and it will be done." It was weird as I thought about it.

'There is no way this evil will give me a silly quest.'

[ Hahaha. . . Yes, this is the fun part. You are currently in Grace Magic Academy as a freshman who will be starting his first year after a week. And we are already inside the dormitory , so you cannot leave. Well have fun doing college . . . . . . . . Again. Hahahahaha!!!]

"Oi Oi , are you serious? Magic Academy? I don't even know how to do it." I protested very hard but to no avail.

A sudden burst of pain came to my head and countless images started flooding in.

After an hour full of digesting Rey's memories, I finally have a gist of the situation.

The planet we are currently in is named Solaris. It was very similar to the 2000's Earth until one day demons and dungeons started appearing out of nowhere. At the emergence of dungeons, an energy called Essence started circulating in Solaris, which resulted in some selected humans getting supernatural abilities. These people call themselves as Mages.

This was the story of 5 decades ago. Now almost 25-30 % of humanity can use essence. In order to develop the young mages for future Academies were introduced.

Grace Magic Academy is the best Academy any young mage can aspire for and every year only top 1000 can enter the academy.

As for Rey or me, I am ranked 448 among the 1000 of my class. And the year will be starting from next week.

' Now what should I do about the magic related stuff.... I'll just have to grind as much as I can in this week.'

After taking a slight pause from all the things going in my head.

"Hey Jerry, can I use the status window for this body. Afterall I cannot use it in my original body thanks to a certain someone.. . . "

All the vicers who complete their Synchronization can view a status window of their stats. It is a digital representation of a Vicers power. But due to Jerry being an irregular, I cannot use that.

But in these world every mage has a status window including the ReyII.

[ Yes , you can. Infact after you complete the evolution, you can even have it with your original body. That's why I chose Solaris as our first point of evolution. . . . .

Realizing what he said I interrupted and asked

" What do you mean by first? are there other ones too? "

[ Heey! Don't break my flow and Yes! there are two more Reys. But that will be for another time.]

Knowing that after this point Jerry will only blabber, I cut off the connection. I had a lot of things to do in very little amount of time.

And my mana heart breathing and the combat manual I learned is such high level. That was a really good shock.

After taking everything in account, I made my mind about my next step.
