George was very happy to see Cynthia relaxing.

If he hated one person in this entire world more than he hated 'that' person, it was his mother, a.k.a. the Cobra.

Cynthia didn't allow George to use that name back in the day right before Henry kicked him out of her life, but George knew Cynthia too well and knew she must've had a recreational name she called the Cobra with behind her back. He bet her nanny knew about it, the name may be something around 'demon queen' or something similar.

While George was into the animal kingdom, Cynthia was into fantasy romance.

He was on cloud nine when she called him this morning and included him in her plan, he wanted to be involved in everything that had to do with her ex if possible, from now on, there will be no mistakes like the tabloid incident.

That stunt Cynthia pulled in her ex's wedding was way too risky for the heiress to the Evans-soft.

Her family's reputation meant the world to George, he wasn't going to stay in the dark while Cynthia played V for Vendetta by herself.

The lovely sound of Cynthia's giggles brought him back to the moment.

"…And I remembered trading a foot massage for a better mark at Algebra! Your creativity knew no limits back then!"

They both laughed out loud this time.

"You've got to let me have that much credit, my hands were a good influence on your grades."

"I'm sure it was your mouth and all the tutoring you gave me that did the magic,"

They looked at each other warmly the way only two people who shared a long history together could.

"Excuse me while I go powder my nose,"

Cynthia's makeup was fresh and perfectly 'done to stay' by her own makeup artist whose hands should be wrapped in silk. But the reason why she had to go to the restroom was her poor bladder. The baby was pressing down on her it as if he held a grudge against her, it was so much nowadays that she kept feeling the need to go to the toilet every hour of the day.

The nights were even worse.

While Cynthia was walking happily thinking that all this time in the bathroom was about to end soon, George was still at the table. He sighed remembering his torture when they were young.

It was hard being the responsible adult around the beautiful Cynthia that he dreamed of having as his wife someday.

Then it happened, the biggest mistake he ever made.

She finally became an adult, and he immediately made love to her knowing that she couldn't begin to imagine the depths of his feelings for her, the next morning, he felt like a villain from some kind of a horror movie. He couldn't forgive himself. A question ate him from the inside, what was the difference between that one day when she was 17 and he had to protect her from every other guy including himself, and the next day when she turned 18 and he couldn't keep it in his pants anymore?

"George, are you okay? You seem distracted." Cynthia said as she sat back down, he was so deep in thoughts that he didn't even see her coming.

Cynthia wasn't the only one that he missed seeing coming.

"I see you're at the wrong table with the wrong man, Cynthia dear." Sylvia cooed; her eyes lingered on Cynthia's belly before she reached her eyes.

"And hello to you too!" Cynthia flashed her a satisfied smile caressing her pregnant belly affectionately.

Her ex-mother-in-law was a woman in her late fifties, but she always made sure she looked 10 years younger; it was one of those occasions when she succeeded. On top of her beautiful grey hair and her ageless beauty, she had a classy black lace cocktail dress on her that accelerated her fit figure.

Sylvia turned around and headed to her usual table, the restaurant owner came out to greet her knowing all too well that if he didn't, her son, the CEO of Green-soft will chew his ears off later on, courtesy of his mother, of course.

"Behold the Cobra in action," George muttered to himself.

"Let's move to her table now, we delivered the first slap tonight, I'm already in the lead now," Cynthia winked at George.

The two of them moved to Sylvia's table, George ignored the fact that she was glaring at him.

"George dear, the paycheck must be pretty handsome for you to make night calls like this one," Sylvia sneered at him.

"I'm not here as her lawyer, I'm here as her fiancé,"

Sylvia choked on her glass of Acqua di Cristallo as Cynthia and George exchanged a quick look, it was just as George had predicted, Cynthia's ex had not shared the news with his mother dear just yet, and Sylvia was only improvising, like all villains, she liked to work alone.

The conning woman quickly composed herself, "Oh! What a joyous occasion, congratulations on climbing up the social ladder, George dear!"

She gave Cynthia a fake loving look that was full of fake tenderness, "I'm here for you, Cynthia dear, I know how hard it must've been to go through this pregnancy all alone, you could have said something and avoided all the drama, of course, but I understand that your young blood must've boiled after that unfortunate event, now I'm not defending Henry here, I'm a woman too, but that's all water under the bridge now, ha? Cynthia dear?"

"What is it that you want, Sylvia," Cynthia enjoyed finally being able to call the witch by her first name after being forced to call her 'mother' all those years.

Sylvia placed her hand over her cheek, she forced her eyes to widen, the lousy actress that Cynthia knew Sylvia to be, she had to give her ex-mother-in-law credit for going the extra mile.

"I suppose I won't be hearing the word 'mother' from you anymore?" Her lips slightly trembled, her emotions were true this time. It wasn't because she ever regarded Cynthia as her own daughter, but because the witch was satisfied to feel superior over Cynthia.

Sylvia had one obsession, and one obsession only.

Henry Green.

Cynthia quickly dismissed the idea, the days when she forgave Henry for everything because of his childhood trauma were over.

'I won't let them poison my son's head with their craziness.' She vowed. "As you can see, I have a prior engagement tonight, Sylvia, do you want to tell me something else before I go?"

Sylvia eyed Cynthia's dress warily. She took a deep breath, and Cynthia knew that what her ex-mother-in-law was about to say will surely test her patience.

So which is better, Cobra, or Witch?

My favorite is Demon Queen but nobody's using that one :P
