When Qiao Ruo arrived at the Nest Mall to pick up her cousin, she saw the nerdy, bespectacled director bidding her goodbye smilingly. It took the young director a few long minutes to recognise Qiao Ruo since she had been out of the limelight for a few months.
"Ah, Miss Xia, what brings you here?" the man exclaimed politely, giving her a courteous bow. She maintained her composure and returned his bow with an endearing smile.
"Family matters, Mr Director."
With that, she took her cousin's hand and dragged her away from the audition venue.
The director called out after Xiazhi to give him a call, but the women were gone. Qiao Ruo casually led Xiazhi to the luxury vehicle that Uncle Lu chauffeured. As usual with elders Xiazhi met, she politely greeted Uncle Lu and entered the car to take her seat beside Qiao Ruo.
