Chapter 3

"Oh damn! I don't really want to participate in this event. I just wanna have fun with girls. But the reward is kinda enticing. If perhaps I won, I will finally be able to leave here for the Human world. But I wonder, will the council give me permission to go? Right since when I was a kid, my grandpa won't stop talking about the human world. Ever since then I wondered if the human world is just as good as my grandpa made it out to be. And most especially I wonder if there are pretty girls there. Oh well I guess we will find out when I go there. (Smirks). " Arthur thought

"So you're saying that the council will grant any request of ours?" Arthur asked

"Yes, if it's within their power they will do it." Replied Austin

" Then let's get ready for the event. But I have to see dad first. Uhmm Austin you can leave now, I will call u when I need ur assistance. " Arthur replied

"Alright my prince, as u wish." Said Austin

Just then Arthur decides to have a word with his father, the Leader and head of the Third family: House of Eternal dominion; in the castle.

"(Sighs ) It's always difficult talking with dad. He's hard to read most of the times, he also doesn't like to be called dad rather he likes to be addressed as Leader. I wonder why all the heads are so uptight. Can't they loosen up a bit even in front of their children?" Arthur asked no one in particular.

Arthur arrives at the palace. The palace looks like any other palace, it looked large with a touch of both old and modern design. The interior was filled with different paintings of past leaders. Arthur goes straight to the throne room where he's father is always found most of the times.

Arthur, gets down on one knee and bows his head when he got in front of his father, the leader." Good morning leader."

"Good morning Arthur." Leader Bryce replied.

"I trust you had a goodnight sleep, leader." Arthur asked again.

"You know we vampires can go on for days without needing much sleep. So come straight to the point. What do u want?" Bryce asked.

"Uhmm Fath... Sorry Leader, I wanted to ask why I wasn't informed about this event earlier? I would have prepared for it." Arthur questioned

"Are you trying to question your leader? Besides you found out already, so better late than never, you can as well prepare now." Bryce replied.

" But..." Arthur wanted to say but was interrupted.

"You can leave now. Go and prepare for the event. And you better not disgrace me in front of everyone on that day. Got it?" Bryce ordered.

"Yes your majesty." Arthur answered.

He leaves the palace to prepare for the event. On his way going he saw one of his friend from the other family. "Axel". No, more like Axel saw him.

"Arthur!!!" Axel called.

But Arthur didn't hear because he was deep in thought.

Finally Axel catches up to Arthur.

"Hey dude, what's wrong with you? I have been calling you for so long and what's with that sad face you're pulling?" Axel asked.

" It's nothing really." Arthur replied

" Common you know you can't lie to me. So what's wrong with you?" Axel asked again

"Arthur sighs and replies, It's just that I don't really wanna attend that event. You know am not really good at fighting and stuff unlike the sons of the other family like you."

"I know you're not good at fighting but between me and you, you know you're good with your abilities. Common you have been developing new techniques all by yourself and mind you this event is not only fighting with weapons, you will have to display your abilities too." Axel replied

"Oh common, do you really have to say all that about my ability? What if someone overhead us? You know vampires have a very sharp hearing. "Arthur said

"I know I know, am sorry but I don't understand why you don't want to show your family your talents." Axel apologized.

"It's because am enjoying my life as it is without any added responsibility. If I were to show my abilities, I would be forced to take a serious role here. So that's why I don't want to show off but I guess that's not going to be possible anymore because of this damn event." Arthur complained

"Well I don't think you have any other choice other than to participate. Besides if you do well, your long lost wishes will come true. We both know what that is" Axel added...TBC..
