Chapter 70: Within a week

That evening , The two families met. By the time David , Calcel and Alyssa arrived May and her mother were already there.

" We are so sorry for coming late ." David apologised as he sat down followed by the two.

" We've just also arrived . " Cynthia said.

Drinks and food were brought and they started eating while they chatted.

" Calc.. Are you going to marry me ? " May asked. She had not believed it when she heard that Calcel had accepted marrying her. She wanted to hear it from him herself.

David and Cynthia both laughed hearing May's question. Calcel was still quite.

" We already told you. " Cynthia muttered.

" I want to hear it myself. " May argued.

" Your man is here. " David said looking at his son.

Alyssa was just watching everything they were doing and her mouth was shut.

" She wants to hear from you. " Cynthia added.

" I am going to marry you May. " He said looking at May lovingly.

May was overwhelmed with joy. She didn't know why Calcel had suddenly accepted but that wasn't important to her now. What was important was that she was finally going to become his wife. She didn't care if Calcel loved her back or not. All she wanted was spending the rest of her life with him. And besides that she wanted much to be part of the Wong's family. The most known family in the city.

" So when should you two get engaged ? " Cynthia asked.

" I guess in the next two weeks. " May said happily.

" I want it within a week. " Calcel spoke and they all looked at him surprised.

" Why so fast ? " David asked.

" I think it's better for both of us. " Calcel defended.

" Let's ask Ms Alyssa , Do you think about it ? " May questioned Alyssa whose mind was very far from the scene that she didn't even notice she had been asked.

They all gave her glares. " Ms Alyssa ? " May called again.

" Huh..." Alyssa mumbled coming back to reality.

" Are you alright ? " David asked.

Alyssa sighed. " I am not feeling well. Please excuse me. " She lied and got up to go to the washroom.

Seeing this , Calcel smirked satisfied.

In the Washroom.

Alyssa got inside and stood in front of the dressing mirror.

' Alyssa , What you are doing is right. Falling for your step son was a mistake and there's no way you can keep on liking him. Maybe when he marries your feelings for him will die. It's the right thing. " Alyssa told to the Alyssa she was seeing in the mirror .

She had turned to leave when May entered and locked the door behind her.

" May ? " Alyssa called smiling.

" I came to check on you. Are you really not feeling well ? " May asked.

" It was just...." Alyssa said but she didn't know what to add on

" I Know you are not happy that Calcel is going to marry me. " May lushed out.

" What are you meaning ? " Alyssa looked at her .

" You think that I don't know how you feel about Calcel ? " May asked.

" May , Don't talk nonsense ! " Alyssa yelled.

" Alyssa , You may be Mr Wong's wife but don't forget I am older than you . I can see things you can't see. " May said.

Alyssa glared and chuckled in disbelief

" I saw you many times with Calcel and just the way you used to look at him showed it all that you like him. " May said.

" That was a misunderstanding . " Alyssa muttered.

" Fine. " May said and walked closer to Alyssa covering the distance between them. She leaned close to her ear and said.

" Don't forget , Any mistake you do. You will lose both David and Calcel. " May said almost whispering in her ear and after that she left.

Alyssa sighed and wondered the life she had brought herself into. Sometimes she regretted marrying David . She would have looked for other ways of paying back the money than living in such situation.
