"Hello again, Miss Evelyn. We met again. Looks like destiny wants us to be together," Mr Robert Ford said with a mischievous smile as he stepped out of his carriage. In a leering stare, his eyes scrutinised her.
Evelyn brushed off the wrong intuitions and greeted him back, with a forced smile.
"What is a beautiful young lady like you doing alone in the dangerous forest?" He asked.
"Our carriage broke," she replied, pointing to the vehicle's shattered wheel.
"I see," he said as he observed it and asked, "where is the coachman?" Also, the man, what was his name again," he took a pause and continued, "Elric, how discourteous of him to leave you alone in the forest."
His dislike for Elric was palpable, as she observed. "Coachman and Elric went in separate directions looking for aid," she replied.
He nodded in understanding. "Well, you can come with me. I'll drop you off on my way out. It's unsafe for a woman like you to be alone in the woods," he said, offering her help.
