Stay Away From Wil Kossen

CASTYR'S POV

"We need to come up with a plan. The demons need to be stopped. If their scheme succeeds, Heaven will become extremely vulnerable and all Hell will break loose, literally," Miren proposes.

My eyes narrow in observation as I look at the female human. <Does Miren not know there is a demon standing right behind Devyn?>

<It doesn't look like it.>

<Huh. Interesting.>

<Devyn might have decided to hide Denzyl's identity since he knows Miren has had a thing against demons since the transport tower.>

<Ahhh. That makes sense, but Devyn should know he can't keep it from her forever.>

<That's for him to decide, though.>

<True, true. I bop my head slightly in agreement.>

"You two look like you're having a conversation in your heads," Miren comments as she studies our expressions.

"We are," I answer truthfully.

Miren nods. "Nice."

"So what about you? How have you been these past fifty years?" I ask Devyn, intrigued about the story behind his demon buddy.

Devyn looks over at Denzyl who comes to sit beside him on the sofa. After receiving a soft nod from the demon, the human turns back to us and begins, "Uh, well, as you know, I was taken by dendrum."

I nod and look down, remembering how Devyn sacrificed himself to save us.

"Well-" Devyn is cut off by a knock on the door. A slender female enters, leading a tall, blonde man.

I catch Denzyl's eyes flash red as he stands to his feet. Luckily for him, Miren's attention was on the visitor. I lean more into Kilo, not liking the vibe coming off the man.

"I thought I told you to not let him in," the demon growls, scaring the female out of her wits.

"Mr. W-W-W-Wil is here to see you," the girl stutters, lowering her head under Denzyl's intense gaze.

"Thank you, Astrid. You may leave," Devyn addresses the presumed secretary who bows before scurrying off. "What do you want, Wil?" Devyn's voice sounds strong, but his eyes showed the slightest glint of fear the moment he saw the visitor. The brown-haired human stands and walks over to Denzyl who places his arm in front of Devyn, protecting the human.

"I see you have guests," the blonde human speaks.

"Yes. Did I need to report that, too?"

Wil growls under his breath as he scans Kilo and I. "Who are they?"

"Our guests," Denzyl answers.

"Our guests?" Wil looks at Denzyl with a sharp gaze.

The demon stares down the creepy human.

<Okay. I have to admit. The demon's not half-bad. He's growing on me.>

Kilo nods slightly in response to my in-mind comment.

"Since when did you become an our with my fiancé?"

<Fiancé?!> My jaw drops in-mind. <That creep is Devyn's fiancé?>

<Stay away from him.> Kilo warns me.

<Definitely.>

"What do you want, Wil?" Devyn repeats his question, his voice growing tired and annoyed.

"I wanted to talk about wedding dates."

"Not gonna happen. I'm only twenty-one. I thought we had agreed to wait until I am twenty-five."

"You're seventy-one." Wil's eyes narrow.

Devyn's face remains the same as he retorts, "You would know since you know everything about me."

"You little bi-"

My eyes widen as Wil raises his arm. <How dare he!!>

Kilo starts to move, but Denzyl catches the human's wrist.

"Get out," the demon growls.

"Who do you think you are? You can't order me around."

"Last time I checked, the CEO of the building you are standing in was Devyn Vaumyr, not Wil Kossen." Denzyl's eyes narrow as he stares down at the blonde man.

"And who do you think put him there?" Wil responds.

<Are they 'drawing it out and measuring it'?>

<Mm hmm.> Kilo watches the two men with keen eyes, ready to move at the slightest hint of danger.

"Himself. Currently, Devyn Vaumyr owns thirty-seven percent of Vaumyr and Co. I'm pretty sure he is now the largest share holder of his company," Denzyl answers.

Devyn looks up at Denzyl in shock. "What? What do you mean? Denzyl?"

Denzyl looks down at Devyn fondly before stepping in between him and Wil. "Get out. I won't say it again."

Wil scoffs. "You're up to something, Devyn. I don't know what it is, but, rest assured, I will find it," the human says as he points his finger at a stunned Devyn before turning on his heel and storming out.

Devyn gets in front of the demon as soon as Wil leaves. "Excuse us," Devyn addresses Kilo and I before turning back to Denzyl. "We need to talk." We watch as Devyn takes Denzyl by the hand and leads him out of the common room.

I look at Kilo with raised brows. "Well, that was eventful."

Kilo nods before adopting a smirk on his face.

"What are you thinking?" The words are barely out of my mouth before Kilo scoops me up. I shoot Miren an apoplectic smile as my angel takes me back to our room.

"I'm thinking I just want you in my arms...right now," Kilo whispers in my ear as he sets me on the bed.

"Mmmmm. I like that idea," I smile, causing Kilo to bury his nose in my neck and breathe in deeply before wrapping me in his arms.

"I love you."

"I love you."
