KILO'S POV

Devyn's eyes widen as he sees me following the demon into the tower.

"Kilo!" A feminine voice calls as we reach Devyn. I turn to see Miren rushing towards me. "Castyr?! What-what happened? Is he alright?" Miren asks frantically as she sees the unconscious star in my arms.

"Follow me," Devyn says calmly before turning and walking to the elevators. The demon sticks to Devyn's side as the human leads us to the top floor. "My personal physician is on his way. You will be in room 8002."

The demon opens the door for me as we reach room 8002. I enter and gently set Castyr on the bed as Devyn closes the door giving us privacy. I get on the bed and wrap my arms around the star. Holding him tightly, I begin giving him energy.

A knock sounds on the door about ten minutes later. A pink head pokes around the door. A cute man with a small face and big smile enters the room carrying a medicine bag.

"Hello. I am Dr. Byeong-Ho. Nice to meet you," the doctor bows in greeting.

I sit up in bed and nod in greeting.

"Is this Castyr?" The doctor gestures to the sleeping star.

I nod in confirmation.

"What seems to be the problem?"

"He was shot in the head by a stun ray," I answer.

The doctor's brows furrow in concentration as he sits on the bed next to Castyr and reaches into his bag to pull out three circular devices. He places two of them behind his ears before setting the third over the star's heart. The doctor closes his eyes as he listens to Castyr's heartbeat.

A soft knock sounds before Devyn pokes his head into the room. I slide off the bed and walk over to the door.

"Why don't you wash up?" Devyn suggests as he hands me a pair of folded clothes.

I look back at the doctor tentatively checking on Castyr.

"Don't worry, Byeong-Ho will take good care of him," Devyn reassures me. "You need to rest, too, Kilo."

I finally nod in agreement and go to shower as the doctor treats Castyr.

CASTYR'S POV

I wake to the comforting pressure of an arm wrapped around my waist. Opening my eyes, I see an arm stretched out from under my head. I let out a breath and turn to my other side to see Kilo sleeping. He begins to automatically adjust his hold to my movements before snapping his eyes open when he realizes I am awake. A smile forms on my lips as I look at my angel.

"How do you feel?" Kilo asks.

"Good. Where are we?"

"In Devyn's tower."

My eyes widen at the name of the human who saved us years ago. "Devyn? He's okay?"

Kilo nods, and I sigh in relief, recalling watching Devyn get dragged away by the dendrum. I shake my head to get rid of the haunting memory. "I'm going to go shower." I plant a kiss on Kilo's forehead before throwing back the covers. But before I can slide out of the bed, strong arms wrap around my waist and pull me back down. I giggle as Kilo brings me flush against his chest. "Kilo, I wanna shower. I feel yucky!" I whine cutely as Kilo hugs me.

The angel buries his nose in my neck and inhales deeply in response to my whining. "You smell so good, though. I want to keep you here in my arms."

Kilo's lips on my skin send tingles down my spine as he starts kissing my neck. My smile widens as I quickly think of a solution. "I can still be in your arms in the shower."

Kilo does not waste a second in tossing the blankets and scooping me up in his arms. I throw back my head and laugh as I am gallantly carried to the bathroom.

Kilo interlaces our fingers as he leads me to the common room in the top level of the skyscraper. Miren and Devyn stand as they see us enter the circular room lined with tall windows.

"Castyr!" Miren smiles as she sees me. She stops short of me, however, and adopts a shocked expression. "You've gotten so big!"

I smile and look down at the red-haired woman. Devyn walks over to us, hands in the pockets of his black slacks. I stiffen at the smell of a demon and tighten my hold on Kilo who rubs my lower back and whispers, "It's okay. He's with Devyn."

Relaxing under Kilo's touch, I observe the demon standing behind Devyn. I guess he does not look too bad. I follow the demon's intense gaze to Devyn who is standing in front of me with a small smile.

"Thank you for saving us," I bow my head slightly.

"Thank Denzyl. He is the one who found you," Devyn points to the demon standing behind him.

I bow my head to the demon who tilts his head in response. Turning my attention back to Devyn, I realize he has not aged a day. "You look the same," I observe.

Devyn nods. "It's a long story." He motions for us to sit before adding, "So, what happened? Why did you fall?"

Kilo and I sit before filling Devyn in on Aklys and the demons' plan to capture me. Kilo remains mostly quiet. I can tell there is something on his mind, but do not pressure him as he stares at our interlaced fingers intently. Instead, I rub circles into his hand as I tell our story.

Devyn, Denzyl, and Miren listen tentatively as I talk, stopping me here and there to ask questions. They are mostly silent when I finish.

"There is more to this than it seems," Miren breaks the silence.

Devyn nods in agreement. "You can stay here for as long as you need," he offers kindly.

"Thank you." I tilt my head in thanks.
