CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

"Pak!" Elder Le grande slapped Desiree's face.

"Disgraceful brat! Look what you and your father has caused. The news has made the company's stock to fall. Is this your way of paying me back for allowing you to use my Family name? Ungrateful wrench!" He said as he smacked her face once again. Desi fell to the floor. Hot tears rolled down her cheek.

What was happening? Her name had been smeared by the public. She was no longer fit to be the national goddess. What game was she even playing at? This people were hell bent on making her life meaningless.

"Get out of my sight with your useless mother!"

"Bang!" Desi slammed her fist on the table.

"Elder Le grande! I would allow to be beaten, killed and destroyed by you. But I will not allow you to call my mother useless!" Desi exclaimed.

Everywhere froze. No one in the Le grande family had ever spoken back to Elder Le grande. Daphne sneered at the corner. Yes! She wanted grandfather to destroy her pretty little face. She dared talk back at him? She was asking for death!

Elder Le grande was shocked but it was quickly hidden. The little girl had not addressed him as grandfather, but had called him 'Elder Le grande' does that mean that she has severed her relationship with him?

He didn't want to admit it but he felt pain.

Desi walked out of the house with her mom and slammed the door.

The household bodyguards wanted to go after them but they were stopped.

Outside the Legrande household.

"Desi, do you not want to associate with the Le grande's anymore?" Vanessa asked.

"No mom"

"Mom I want to take serious decisions that might affect my life forever. Are you willing to stand by me?"

Mrs Le grande hugged her daughter.

"Of course baby girl, mummy's going to support you."

Desi opened the car door for her mom, and helped her get into the passenger seat. She made her way towards the driver's side and sat.

She smiled to herself. She was sure that her name would be a mess on the internet. Everyone hated her now. She was the daughter of a criminal.

She scrolled through her contacts and dailed a number.

"Hello Kim, prepare a press conference for me. Invite all media outlets." With this, she ended the call and drove off.

Kim was frustrated. She didn't know what to do. She had been dailing Desi's number and the call wasn't connecting. And now she called on her own freewill to ask her to prepare a press conference? What was she trying to do?

It didn't take long for Kim to prepare the conference. A lot of people were present. Some wanted her to apologize. But, for what?

Immediately Desi walked into the conference room. Reporters flooded her.

"Miss Le grande is it true that your father is a jailbreak?"

"Did your father really embezel his company's funds?"

"Miss Le grande, are you not ashamed of showing your face in public again?"

The security warded off the reporters, till Desi made it to the front stage.

Everyone was quite, eagerly waiting to hear what she would say.

"Good afternoon. I wish to apologize about the news on my father." There was a slight mumur from the crowd as everyone retold their own part of the news.

"Call my father a Thief, a Criminal, a Disgrace, and a Coward. He is still my father and I love him. And I Desiree Le grande is not ashamed of him. I don't need any body's permission to love my father. The media can crucify him all they want but it still won't stop him from being my father."

There was absolute silence. Reporters could be seen crying. Everyone was touched.

Kim smiled to herself as she watched the little girl she managed. This girl was a Queen. Irrefutably. She was the best.

"And lastly I wish to announce that I would be withdrawing from the entertainment industry."

Boom!

The was an uproar. This news would sure make the headlines.

Flick! Flick! Flick! Camera's clicked. It was as if everyone awoke from their reverie.

What was this? The national goddess was leaving? Right after she stole everybody's heart.

"But.." Her voice was heard again.

"I will be back, not as the national goddess but as the International goddess!" She said and stepped down the stage. Just like that she took everyone by surprise.

The security made way for her while she walked to the exit. Kim ran as fast as she could to meet up with Desi.

Desi was already in the car when she caught up with her.

"Thank you, Kimberly." she said and drove off.

In Kinston's corporation.

The door of the CEO's office swung open and a lady in black walked in, together with a man who seemed to struggling with her.

"Sir, I tried to stop her but she insisted and fought me."

Humphrey hurriedly explained.

Michael looked up from the pile of documents in front of him and saw the determined face looking at him.

"You may leave Humphrey." He said and dropped the document in his hands.

Humphrey made a swift bow and left.

When he left there was silence in the room. The man and woman engaged in an intense gazing contest. Till he broke the silence.

"I had expected you to come sooner than this. You sure do have an enduring spirit."

"If I ever find out that you abducted my father so that you could twist my arms to accept your stupid offer, trust me Michael Kingston I won't think twice about killing your child."

"Is that a threat?"

"Well, rest assured I didn't do it. I'm not that petty."

"Good for you Young Master Kingston." She opened her bag and brought out a document.

" I adjusted the contract. It's now a three year contract because I want to wean my child by myself. Don't forget your own part of the offer. Deal with the Le grande household. Help me find my brother."

"Of course Miss Le grande."

"Lastly, no one should ever know we are married apart from our immediate families."

"I agree to all your conditions Miss Le grande."

"Then shall we go to the Civil Bereau Young Master Kingston?"

"After you Miss Le grande"

The both drove to the Civil Bereau and within a matter of minutes, they were legally married.
