CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE

Michael was almost getting at the middle of his breakfast when he heard the ruffle behind him. He knew that it was Desiree. She never misses breakfast. It's not that she wanted to be the punctual wife. It was because she loved her food more than every other thing.

He heard her pause in her steps. He knew it was because she hadn't expected him home. She walked to the table and greeted him. Taking her position she started dishing out immediately.

When she placed the food in her mouth, she savoured the taste. "mmmm." she nodded in response to the delicious meal.

She called on the Burtler, who came to her immediately.

"Get me the head chef." The Burtler went to do so. Soon the head chef followed him looking nervous and sweating. He had no idea as to what awaited him.

He bowed his head lightly to the master of the house and his madam.

"Who prepared this meal?" Desi asked. She looked sternly at him, making the man think that he had committed a very serious offense.

"I... It.. Was... Me, madam." he stuttered.

"How much is your salary?" She asked again. This time around the poor chef lost it and burst into hot tears while throwing himself on the floor.

"I am sorry madam. I promise to be more careful the next time I prepare the meal. Please madam don't cut my salary. My wife would throw me out of the house." He cried.

The last line had brought laughter to Desi's face as she thought of his wife throwing him out of the house. She loved that woman instantly!

"You haven't answered my question. How much is your salary?" She asked.

"30 thousand dollars madam." He answered.

This made Desi almost choke on her meal. A glass of water was passed to her by the Burtler who was oblivious of what his madam was doing. In fact, he feared for his job too!

Michael Kingston really had a lot of cash to throw away. How could he pay the cook 30 thousand dollars? Well since he wanted to waste it. She would help him.

"Your pay would be increased to 40 dollars. Burtler, don't forget to keep reminding your master for it."

She had only completed what she wanted to say when the chef wept with joy on her feet.

"Madam, you are the best. I wish you and master a blissful marriage and multiple children."

Desi "...."

Multiple children? Was this a well wish or a death sentence?

"It's okay, just leave." At this the Burtler rose and left not without giving his favorite madam a profound bow. He wept like a child while leaving. He rushed to the Burtler and also hugged him. The Burtler stood transfixed, not knowing how to react.

"That was quite a show." She heard Michael speaking to her.

"Yeah..." She said.

"So, do you have classes today?"

"Yes I do."

"Alright then, we would be leaving together. In the same car."

She was amazed at this. He was already dressed for work. And she hadn't even brushed her teeth.

"Won't I make you late?" she asked.

"I have all the time in the whole world to wait for you."

She blushed at this because she had read a different meaning into what he said. She left the table and went to prepare.

Michael waited earnestly and decided to go to the room and know why she was delaying. He opened the door and looked into the room seeing no one around.

He stepped in. Looking around the room, he noticed the recent changes that happened.

He loved it. Then, his eyes fell on the table beside the bed. He picked up the book on it.

"HOW TO HAVE SEX FOR THE FIRST TIME"

Just then Desi stepped out of the dressing room surprised to see Michael in her room. What shocked her even more was the book in his hands.

"Nooo!" She screamed and rushed forward to grab the book but he was faster. He raised the book above his head. Desi was tall but just for a woman. Her height was nothing compared to Mike's.

"So, you are virgin?"

Desi's cheeks turned pink with embarrassment.

Why was this guy so blunt with his words.

"If you wanted to know about sex, you would have come to me. I'd be glad to teach you."

Desi wanted to reply but found no words. She was praying secretly in her mind. She didn't want him to find the second book.

"And I was here thinking you were one hell of a seductress. Didn't know you were a novice."

That was it! Desi grabbed her car keys and dashed out of the room. She wasn't going to let that guy embarrass her!

When she finally left. Michael came down with the book and gave it the Burtler. The Burtler wondered why he was given such a book. Did the Master think he hadn't done it before? He asked in his mind until he heard him say.

"Burn it."
