Eternal Veins: Bound by Blood and Love

"Why all this darkness?" It has been haunting my mind for an eternity. I've treaded through its depths for a while now, yet I hold onto the conviction that there's always a glimmer of light at the end of every daunting tunnel. I keep moving forward until I finally come across an old castle, its darkness as impenetrable as ever. I recognize this place as the recurring backdrop of my dreams. This is where the vision always halts, the vision that's been with me since I was a 16-year-old girl. And now, as a mature woman, I've decided that today is the day I'll step inside that ancient castle, seeking answers to the mysteries that have plagued me. ..................................... "Now that you know who I am... do you still hold love for me?" His voice is calm, his expression unreadable. "Yes, I still love you," I respond, my heart unwavering. "No matter your identity, my heart remains bound to you. I yearn to spend the rest of my days wrapped in your embrace."

chapter 4-4 A night with a drunk man

...

He took advantage of me, and before I could voice my objections, his drunken state overtook him. I couldn't catch him in time, and we both tumbled to the ground. As he burst into laughter, I suddenly realized that my hand was resting on something... hard. I was mortified.

"Jessy... taking advantage of me?" he said, his words slightly slurred as I attempted to help him up. "I don't know... what you're talking about," I pretended, quickly opening the car door. "Get in!" I urged, giving him a gentle push. Climbing into the car myself, I asked for his home address, but he didn't respond. It soon became apparent that he had fallen asleep.

Noticing that his address had been programmed into the car's navigation system, I began to drive him home. With some effort, I managed to help him into his house. His mother assisted me, and together we guided him to his room. "Mama, I'll take my leave now," I said, feeling a mixture of exhaustion and discomfort.

"Daughter-in-law, why not stay and have dinner here?" she suggested warmly, but before I could respond, my phone rang. It was my father on the line. He sounded urgent. "Where are you, daughter? Listen, it's dangerous for you right now. I've tried calling Alex, but his line is not connecting. Stay with him for tonight until things are settled." Papa's instructions were clear, even though I didn't fully comprehend the situation.

We had dinner, and later I was given a new dress to change into. "Jessy, you'll be sharing a room with Alex," she casually mentioned. My eyes widened in disbelief. "What!? But this house is so big. Isn't there a guest room?" I questioned, feeling flustered. "Yes," she replied, but her evasive answer hinted at something else. "Mama, please, I can't share a room with him. He's a man," I protested, my cheeks turning pink. "Meaning?" she inquired with a knowing smile, leaving me red-faced.

With no other choice, I reluctantly entered his room. He was sleeping soundly, and I examined every corner of the room. There was only a single wing chair and one occasional chair. Gently, I moved him to the chair, removing the blanket from him. As I lay down on the bed, exhaustion took over, and I drifted off to sleep.

However, I woke abruptly when I felt a cold touch. To my shock, Alex was already in bed with me. Reacting instinctively, I grabbed a pillow and started hitting him. "Wake up, shameless man!" I scolded, my heart racing. He protested, trying to take the blanket from me, but I pulled it away. "Stop! Stop! I'm a woman!" I exclaimed, my embarrassment growing.

"What? This is my room," he retorted, but it was clear that the alcohol was no longer affecting him. I managed to pull him off the bed again and wrapped the blanket around myself. "Stupid lady," he muttered, his voice faint. I smiled and watched as he settled into the wing chair. Before I knew it, sleep had claimed me once more.

Waking up with a smile, I greeted the morning and went to the window as was my habit. "Good morning, wild cat," Alex's voice broke the silence as he emerged from the bathroom. Irritated, I looked up, only to find him in a towel, his upper body exposed as he dried his hair. Flustered, I hid beneath the blanket, urging him to put on some clothes. He didn't respond, causing me to sneak a glance. To my horror, he was about to remove the towel. I dashed out of the room, chastising him for his shameless behavior.

"You're too full of yourself, wild cat!" I heard him shout as I fled his room. Our breakfast passed awkwardly, and he eventually drove me home. My bodyguards surrounded me as I entered my room, where I noticed an unsettling atmosphere. "My lady, it's safe in here," James reassured me, his voice full of concern. "What's happening, James?" I questioned, puzzled by the urgency in his tone.

"Listen, my lady, don't leave your room for now. Your father is in a meeting..." James hesitated, his words leaving me intrigued. I walked over to the window and saw my father escorting a man to our car park. Suddenly, the man looked up, and our eyes met. It was Mr. Lucas. He smiled and smirked at me, sending a shiver down my spine. In fear, I quickly closed the window, my heart pounding.
