The Great Escape

Gu Xijiu could not agree with Di Fuyi's suggestion. "No way!" She understood that it was the best solution, but she could not simply leave them here to die. The elders had been very kind to her. Whenever there was something nice to eat or wear, they would definitely keep it for her. Lovingly, they treated her like she was one of their own. The entire clan respected them. 

These elders were desperate to make it out and see the world out there, too. If she really abandoned them, they would not survive on their own. Gu Xijiu took a breath and answered firmly, "Let's think of some other way."

Di Fuyi absolutely understood her concerns, so he agreed. "All right; we shall try other ways."

While they were having the discussion, a loud, doleful cry could be heard. The sound was a little childlike but was equally prominent. Gu Xijiu's expression changed abruptly. Tightly, she held onto her sword and warned, "The leader of the beasts has emerged!"
