Chapter 35 Warm Inside

Lena's hand paused on the door handle, not saying a word, and then she opened the door and went out. Her long-dormant heart was beating wildly like a fawn.

Returning to the ward, Lena saw Grayson lying quietly on the bed, eyes closed, as if nothing had happened. Only the rustling of leaves outside the window could be heard. Lena tidied up the thermos, approached the bedside, checked the IV drip, and sat down.

Sleeping Grayson didn't have his usual seriousness. The orange light spilled down, casting a soft glow on Grayson's face. Lena's lips curved into a colorful smile, her mind wandering as she looked at Grayson who had his eyes closed.

Suddenly, Grayson's fingers brushed through her disheveled hair, sighing, "Lena, you're getting more and more amazing!" His big hand gently pulled her waist, bringing Lena onto the bed. The two squeezed onto the small hospital bed. Lena was about to speak but was kissed forcefully.

Grayson's breath infiltrated every part of her, quickly making Lena's tense body soft, like a pool of spring water melting in Grayson's embrace. After the kiss, both of their breaths were a bit erratic. Lena's face was as red as if she were burning.

Raising her eyes, she met Grayson's deep and restrained gaze, as if trying to draw her in. Lena quickly lowered her head, unconsciously playing with her clothes, afraid to look directly at Grayson.

"Do you know what I'm thinking right now?"

"What are you thinking?" Lena responded.

Suddenly, a hint of ambiguity appeared in Grayson's eyes. His lips moved close to her ear, and his voice sounded, "I want to spend the night with you."

Lena's face blushed even more. What a sly man!

She struggled to get off the bed, but Grayson's big hand pressed down, pulling her into his arms.

"This is a hospital..." Lena's voice grew quieter, only audible to the two of them.

"Don't be noisy," Grayson hugged Lena tightly, glancing at the IV drip.

"Stay with me."

Lena's heart was beating wildly.

Through the window, one could clearly see doctors and nurses bustling about outside. Lena nervously looked at Grayson, only to find that he had closed his eyes, his hand tightly encircling her waist, keeping her within his reach.

Lena turned her face to look at Grayson. His warm breath tickled her face, making her itch. Although her clothes were clean, there were creases at the cuffs and collar.

Warm!

After looking for a while, Lena, who was not sleepy at all, gradually fell asleep.

A dreamless night!

When she woke up, the sun was already shining outside. Lena stretched her legs and arms, vaguely remembering that she had slept with Grayson on the hospital bed last night.

Looking around, she didn't see Grayson's figure. Had he been discharged?

Lena got up, washed up, and changed her clothes. Just as she pushed open the bathroom door, she saw Grayson coming in from outside, carrying a paper bag containing breakfast.

Lena awkwardly scratched the back of her head.

"Good morning..."

"It's not morning anymore. Why are you still so disheveled, and your sleeping posture is still so bad," Grayson said.

"Such a smelly man, I could die if you didn't tease me!" Lena murmured helplessly.

Breakfast was Lena's favorite buttered salmon croissant. She hadn't expected that after so many years, Grayson still remembered. Vaguely remembering, when they were in school, Grayson would go through great lengths to buy Lena's favorite croissant, queuing up early in the morning despite the distance.
