Chapter 36 You Have to Take Responsibility for Me

The words from last night lingered in Lena's heart. However, Lena still remembered Grayson's mother's words. She didn't want to be hurt again; she couldn't bear it anymore. After breakfast, Lena threw the meal box and paper bag into the trash.

The assistant had already completed the discharge procedures. Driving the car, Grayson and Lena sat in the back. Lena dared not look directly at Grayson, feeling extremely embarrassed, she leaned close to the car window, counting the trees outside slowly shrinking.

"One, two..."

A large hand reached over, unexpectedly pulling Lena closer to the person beside her. Grayson's warm breath gently brushed against Lena's cheek.

"Let go..."

Before she could finish her words, Grayson's thin lips covered hers. Lena's eyes widened in shock, signaling Grayson: there are people in front. Grayson pulled down the partition, separating the front and back.

Lena hammered Grayson's chest hard, trying to break free from his embrace.

"Don't move!" Grayson's voice was low and intimidating. "If you move again, I can't guarantee what will happen." Grayson was a man of his word.

Lena suddenly quieted down like a deflated balloon, pressing against Grayson's chest and not daring to move.

Grayson's lips curved up happily. He took out a cigarette, lit it, and was about to smoke.

"Don't smoke, I don't like the smell of cigarettes," Lena protested in his arms.

"Okay," Grayson indulged her with a smile.

The assistant in the front was not calm, feeling secretly unhappy. "Mr. CEO, when you're showing affection, can you consider the feelings of this single man?"

Life is tough!

The car soon arrived at Lena's apartment building. As they prepared to get off, Lena saw Grayson opening the door on the other side and quietly instructing the assistant before he got out of the car. The assistant then drove away.

"Let's go!"

"What do you want?" Lena crossed her arms and took a step back.

"Don't worry! In public, I won't do anything to you."

"If you want to, you have to come home," Grayson leaned close to Lena's ear and said.

Lena's face immediately turned red.

"Why are you blushing? It's not like we haven't done this before," Grayson teased Lena.

"You jerk!" Lena roared inwardly.

"Are we leaving, or should I carry you up? I'm very willing to do that," Grayson extended his hand as if to carry her princess-style.

Terrified, Lena ran into the building like a streak of smoke, with Grayson leisurely following behind.

As soon as the elevator doors opened, Grayson strode in. Lena hid in a corner of the elevator, trying to stay as far away as possible. Grayson's presence was too overwhelming.

After entering the apartment, Grayson casually hung his suit on a rack, loosened his tie, and sat on the sofa. Lena, belatedly reacting, asked, "Why are you at my place?"

"My stomach ache is because of you; you have to take responsibility for me," Grayson said wearily, closing his eyes.

"No, my place is too small; there's no place for you to sleep."

"Don't you have a bed in your bedroom?"

"My place is too small; it can't accommodate a giant like you."

"I said if it fits, it fits."

"I sleepwalk at night; I might scare you!"

Lena persisted with various excuses. Irritated, Grayson pulled Lena over and sealed her incessantly chattering mouth with his own.

"Damn it! Kissing me without any warning! What do you think you're doing?"

Lena looked at the quiet woman in his arms.

What an unsettling woman.
