Chapter 28: First Encounter Between Father and Daughter (Part Two)

Alice was busy paying the ticket vendor and didn't notice Helen. Helen accidentally let go of the balloon she was holding, and it happened to land near Grayson, who was inspecting the third floor.

He wore an expensive tailored suit, the fit making him look exceptionally handsome and tall. What was different this time was that he was wearing a three-piece suit in deep black, giving off an aura of mystery and elegance that matched his deep, unfathomable gaze.

In an unprecedented move, Grayson stooped down to pick up the balloon near his feet. He watched as a pink little figure ran towards him.

Helen reached Grayson and before she got too close, his assistant tried to stop her.

A sharp look from Grayson made the assistant feel a sudden chill.

Due to Helen's small stature, she could only reach out and tug at Grayson's pants. "Uncle, thank you for picking up my balloon!" Her warm and sweet voice filled the air.

Grayson felt his heart melting. Those who knew Grayson were aware of his severe cleanliness obsession, never allowing strangers to approach, let alone a strange child.

Other children would be scared off by Grayson's cold demeanor and wouldn't dare come close; some might even cry. But not Helen.

Helen strangely felt a sense of familiarity with this uncle. She thought he was very handsome, even more so than the dads of her classmates at kindergarten.

Grayson crouched down to Helen's height and handed her back the balloon. "You're welcome, little one!"

"Thank you, Uncle!" Helen's sweet and affectionate voice made Grayson inexplicably happy, causing the corners of his mouth to unconsciously lift.

His assistant and the accompanying group were astonished. The outside world knew Grayson as cold and ruthless, but who would have expected to see this tender side of him? It was the first time in years that his assistant had seen Grayson smile, a gentle smile.

The assistant looked at the little girl and felt that she carried an aura similar to their president's between her brows. If the assistant didn't know Grayson so well and his aversion to romantic involvements, they might have suspected that this was a suppressed affection Grayson harbored.

Grayson looked at Helen with an indescribable sense of familiarity. Involuntarily, he thought of Lena's smiling face. This little girl's smile was just as infectious as Lo Yi-Yi's, making Grayson feel at ease. He wondered if he and Lena would have such a cute child in the future.

Grayson unexpectedly envied the parents of this little girl. They had such a lovely daughter.

Grayson gently picked up Little Nian-Nian, cautiously, afraid of frightening the child. Helen boldly grabbed Grayson's shoulders, resting her head lightly on his chest.

"Little friend, what's your name?" Grayson asked.

"I'm Helen. Mom and Auntie call me Little Helen, and you can call me that too, Uncle!" Helen replied, almost drooling. Grayson took out a handkerchief and wiped her mouth.

This scene shocked the assistant even more. Helen clung to Grayson as if he were her father's shoulder. Having never experienced paternal love from childhood, she longed for her father to hug her every day.
