Chapter 29: Lena Scolds and Cries Over Little Helen

Alice turned around after buying the tickets and couldn't find Helen. She was so scared that she broke into a cold sweat, leaving the popcorn she had just bought untouched, pushing through the crowd to find Lena.

Lena came out of the restroom and immediately saw a group of well-dressed people not far away, looking like some leader inspecting the area. As she walked closer, she realized it was Grayson.

Lena was so frightened that she was about to hide when she saw Little Helen running towards Grayson from a distance.

Alice, in a fluster, also ran out of the crowd and saw Little Helen nestled in Grayson's arms. Her jaw dropped in shock.

Spotting Lena hiding behind the crowd, Alice approached her quietly. She whispered, "What should we do now?"

At that moment, Lena couldn't think clearly. Her mind was filled with prayers to God: "Please don't let Grayson recognize me. Please don't let him realize that the little girl in his arms is his daughter."

Alice looked at Lena, who seemed absent-minded, and sighed. "You go inside the theater and wait for us. I'll go get Helen." Alice shook Lena, who was in shock, and handed her the just-bought tickets.

Lena finally snapped out of it. She knew she had to leave immediately, not letting Helen and Grayson see her. Lena hurried into the theater and hid in a inconspicuous spot.

Little Helen lay in Grayson's arms, feeling soft and warm. Grayson was completely taken aback.

He had never felt such a strong emotion before. At that moment, he was convinced in his heart that he wanted to have a child with Lena and spend his life holding her in his arms!

"Thank you, Uncle," Little Helen said, then planted a kiss on Grayson's cheek.

"Uncle, I have to go now! Mom and Auntie will be worried if they can't find me!" Realizing that some time had passed and her parents might be worried, Grayson reluctantly let go of Little Helen.

"Goodbye, Uncle!" Her innocent smile brightened.

The little pink figure slowly ran towards the ticket counter, getting further away from Grayson.

Grayson watched as Little Helen ran farther and farther away, hiding away his long-lost smile and reverting to his usual cold demeanor.

Alice, seeing Little Helen run off, quickly left as well. She picked up Little Helen and headed towards the movie theater.

"Little Helen, how does Mom usually teach you? Didn't we say not to run around? What if you got lost? Do you know how worried you made Mom just now?" Lena scolded Little Nian-Nian with an angry face.

Seeing her mom so angry, Little Helen was about to cry.

Alice couldn't bear to watch anymore. "Alright, stop scolding her. You scared the child!"

Alice hugged Helen and comforted her, "Our Little Helen is the best, no more running around in the future, okay?"

Little Helen, with tears in her eyes, nodded in agreement, looking pitiful.

"Hey," Lena looked at Little Helen, feeling guilty. She realized she had been too worried and scared Little Helen with her attitude just now.

Lena took Helen in her arms and gently kissed her on the cheek. "Mom apologizes to you, okay? Mom shouldn't have scolded Little Helen."

"Mama hug, Helen will listen to Mama and won't run around anymore!" Little Helen snuggled in her mom's arms.

At that moment, the movie was about to start. Watching her favorite cartoon, eating her favorite popcorn, the little one burst into giggles again.

Lena shook her head. A child's world is so simple. One second they're crying, the next they're laughing.

Thank God for bringing such a smart and lovely little angel into my life.
