Chapter 2- Rebirth?

As Kain admired the beautiful sword in his hand while looking at it, suddenly a blue screen emerged right atop the sword, giving its description.

'W-wha- a system? no way...' Kain was extremely shocked seeing the descriptive window and the notifications given by the system.

'If this is for real, then.. Status?' Kain called out in his mind excited to see if he could actually see his stats.

Then, just as he was expecting, a blue screen suddenly materialized in front of him.

'Woahh- It actually worked, I guess those +30 next to the stats are the boost I got from the sword, dang.. It's really overpowered' Kain was overwhelmed by the happiness he felt from being able to actually see a system and getting such an overpowered sword.

'hmm... most of the stats are self explanatory, I guess intelligence determines the amount of Mana, or that's what I conclude from the many novels I have read and 1 intelligence increases Mana by 10 probably' Kain thought as he closed of the Status window and stared back at the sole 'person' who was eaten before, now starting to twitch and slowly turning into a zombie.

'Well then, off you go' Kain commented as he decided to give the new arising zombie a painless and swift death with his new found strength and sword.

"clang" A rather loud noise was made as Kain cut through the zombie's head like cutting through butter and even broke the floor with his sword showcasing the enormous strength he now possesses.

'Holy hell.. now this is what I call Overpowered heh' Kain was rather pleased with his strength, despite having made a loud noise which may attract zombies.

Suddenly, right after Kain had his second kill the number on the right corner on his field of vision, which was stuck at ① suddenly turned into ② while the 30 minute countdown was 28.

'Wait wait wait... am I being timed to kill off as many zombies as I can within 30 minutes?!' Kain was shocked at this sudden thought.

'If so, I need to move quickly' Kain has an idea of what the end result could be after the timer and he definitely didn't want to waste even a second as it would mean 1 less zombie killed within the left over 28 minutes.

Kain without caring for any noise he might make, opened the door of the store and stepped out in the street. Where he stared at the many zombies outside who were just standing still and waiting for any sound they hear to locate their prey, and their wish was fulfilled as Kain opened the door with a forceful motion.

'Well here I go' Kain silently readied himself as he ran to the closest zombie to him who was also trying to find him, yet Kain moved at a speed that was too fast for the zombie to even react at, so he did what he needed to do, he had beheaded it.

Kain looked at the zombie that was coming from his right side and threw his sword right at its head.

'Bullseye' Kain exclaimed inward at his successful throw as the sword penetrated through the head and even killed another zombie that was behind it.

One notification after another appeared proving that he had a successful throw as he killed one zombie after another with a single shot.

'Bruh.. Im liking the fact that im actually getting stronger and getting something from killing em but this might distract me. System, turn notifications off until I turn it on, if possible..' Kain internally sighed while asking the system as he moved toward another zombie ahead of him in hopes of testing his actual strength.

[𝑵𝒐𝒕𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑻𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒇𝒇 𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒍 𝒇𝒖𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒅]

'Oh thank god' Kain gave a sigh of relief while stepping to the side to dodge a zombie and punch its right side of the head.

"crack" "arghhhhh" The zombie grunted as the force behind the punch cracked its skull and sent it flying resulting in it hitting a steel garbage can and making a dent on it.

'This feels so nice' Kain thought gleely as he ran toward his sword since he didn't want to dirty his hands, and while going there killed off a few zombies that were approaching him.

"clang" "grrrhhhhh" "arghhh" "tnnnn" Were the only noises heard as Kain mercilessly continued to slaughter any zombies in his path while trying his best to avoid getting bitten by any of the zombies.

'I should get going now, since there is no more zombies here' Kain spoke as he was surrounded by tens of zombies that lay dead.

'Wait... I think im forgetting something .-. ' Kain was suddenly hit by the revelation that he forgot about his family.

'Ah crap- my lil bro's are in school at this time and that place would definitely be crowded.. hang in there brothers' Kain silently prayed as he started running toward his brother's school which was on the path that he takes to go home from his high school.

As Kain continued to run toward the school, he glanced at the timer that was still counting down.

Now the timer was down to 17 minutes while the number of kill count has risen up to ④③

'That's too low, I want to at least make it cross a century before time runs out' Kain set a small goal for himself as he continued to mercilessly kill any zombies in his path, rising his kill count.

'Also, now that I think about it my sword Starlight was said to be ranked Epic- What are all the ranks?' Kain suddenly remembered and asked the now 'quiet' system.

'hoh this is cool, my sword is pretty strong and cool just like me I suppose' Kain silently praised himself.

Due to Kain already being more closer to his brother's school than his house at the time of the outbreak and along with his supernatural-like speed, he made it to his brothers school in less than 3 minutes.

'Now this is what I call an actual zombie outbreak' Kain sighed inwardly looking at the many 'students' around the street and of which were mostly packed in front of a certain deli due to being rather popular as it was right in front of the school.

'Well.. I would love to go right there and kill them all but it could get dangerous even for me if im surrounded and somehow get scratched.. sigh' Kain thought as he silently killed off the zombies that were near him.

'Wait.. system- My durability is rather high, can I withstand the virus from these Stage 1 zombies?' Kain suddenly thought of the most efficient way of killing, which was just going in the middle of the crowd without fearing of turning into a zombie from bites, since he didn't wanna kill these guys little by little and waste his precious time.

"Muhahaha- Now... shall we dance" Kain spoke while unable to hold his devious laughter as he ran towards the crowd without any fear nor hesitation.
