Korra smiled at just how simple those kids could be. It's been years since she last had this much fun. She's far older now, but still, the adrenaline rushing through her veins as she plays this little cat and mouse still hasn't changed. Ever since she ended up in this new world, she'd finally managed to find joy in living a normal life. After all the years of fighting, she finally managed to find peace. No more responsibilities. No more fighting. No more Avatar.
Although, life could get pretty bland sometimes, she still enjoys the cycle of everyday living. She even managed to set up a small veterinary clinic in the middle of the city. She still remembers all those lessons she had with Katara and taking care of animals is far better in comparison to taking care of ungrateful people. And although this world had its fair share of bad guys, it's good to know that it has its own protectors as well.
Speaking of which, Korra senses behind her, making sure the two brats are still following her. She's seen them a few times on TV fighting crooks and some super powered humans every now and then. But it was out of pure coincidence meeting the one called Ghost-Spider. She remembers bumping into the young girl one time in a coffee shop, only for the place to be attacked and a hero to pop up and beat the bastard. She wouldn't have even noticed except for the part where she can identify a person based on their footsteps, something she learned from Old Lady Toph.
Well, I'm done warming up. Time for the main even, she thought to herself. Korra turn the corner before immediately using her abilities to help her jump to the rooftop. She watches while the two panic and search for her all around the alleyways. Both little heroes then climb to the rooftops and that's when Korra sneaks behind them to have her fun.
'Suspicious of what?' she says, making sure to be as intimidating as possible. She giggles as the two of them suddenly leap away, ready for a fight. 'Sheesh, you're too nervous. Relax a bit, will you'.
'Who are you?', says Gwen, the one in white.
'I'm Korra', she answers.
'Who are you really?' she asks again.
'I already told you. Korra's the name'.
'What's your last name?' asks the one in black. That one's name is Miles, Korra remembers.
Gwen looks at the guy who just shrugs. 'Why were you watching us?'
Korra grins at that. 'To answer both questions, one, no last name, and two, I was curious. It's not everyday you get to see superheroes in action. Did that clear things up?'
'I guess', says Miles. He seems to relax a bit while, Gwen on the other hand, just stiffens up some more.
'Not for me'. Gwen jumps towards her with both fists already up in the air. She throws a punch but Korra quickly steps back. She tries to sweep her leg but the other woman just as easily jumps over the attack. Gwen throws a flurry of attacks and Korra parries them one after the other. Finally, Korra pushes Gwen, making her loose her balance and fall towards Miles who catches him.
'You gonna help me anytime soon or what?'
'What? I was waiting for the signal', he answers.
'Me punching was the signal'.
Miles shrugs. The two of them slowly walks to either side of Korra, readying themselves.
'I'm ready when you are'.
They both run towards the doctor simultaneously, Gwen sweeps for the leg while Miles aims for Korra's torso. However, they didn't expect for Korra to jump over the sweep attack while catching Miles' arm before jumping over him and giving him a kick to his backside. Gwen runs at her again, with a kick aimed at her left side. Korra blocks it with her shin before giving the girl a quick jab. Miles quickly returns to Gwen's side as the three of them trade blows.
Korra grins. Her heart hasn't beat this quick for ages. The joy of the fight slowly engulfing his whole body. She blocks their attacks, then grabs them both by the arm and throwing them to the side. 'Come on, kids. Let's keep going', she says, her breathing barely even changed. 'I haven't felt this good in ages'.
The two heroes nods to each other as Korra pumps her arms. This time, Korra makes the first move. She leaps in between the two of them, throwing a punch towards Miles and a kick at Gwen. The two block her attack. Korra pulls Miles and throws him at Gwen. Now, it was Korra's turn, throwing a flurry of blows that the two could barely respond to.
'That doctor is pretty strong', Miles tells Gwen. 'Why is it that all the doctors I've known so far can easily kick my butt'.
Gwen dodges another punch but just before Korra could pull back her arm, Gwen manages to snap a string of web on her wrist. 'Miles, do the other one'.
Miles realizes what she was doing and snaps some web at the doctor's other wrist, sticking it to her torso. The two of them begins wrapping her in webs until she ends up looking like a cocoon.
'Whooo', grunted Miles. 'Why didn't we think of that earlier?'
'I dunno. Adrenaline, I guess', Gwen says.
Both of them are panting, already exhausted for the night. Korra, however, is just getting started. The two watches with amazement as they watch Korra spread her legs and rip the webs covering her lower body. She then stands up before fire ignites from inside the cocoon and burning whatever is left wrapped on her.
'Geez. That's pretty disturbing. You do that to everyone you fight', Korra says while flame engulfs the palm of her hands. 'Well, that was pretty fun. But this is where it ends'.
Korra leaps between the two, and before they can even react, she pinches the side of their necks. Both heroes go limp and fall to the floor. 'Really glad Granny Mai taught me how to do that'.
Hi peeps. This is my first time writing in ages. I used to write on Wattpad but life kept me busy and I pretty much forgot the plot for my stories.
I hope to get back the skills with this one then maybe return to those stories. Probably even put it here.
Hope you're liking this so far.
