Chapter Nine: The Start of a Grand Story!

Main Character Pov~

I was currently in front of the giant door that led into the Great Hall of the Ancient Shiny Crystalline Steelix. In my trench coat, with a decent sized silver backpack. I put everything I could have salvaged from the Old Wooden House in the mountains in my inventory, The Steelix already told me to pick what I had wanted, it was better in the use of someone's hands rather than catching dust in the Old Wooden House.

I gazed at the gate with my golden eyes as I stepped forward towards it. I had three poke balls tied to my belt, containing three Pokemon which were Shiny Groudon, Shiny Aggron and lastly Rookidee.

The giant door began to slowly open up as the wind brushed past my face, making my crimson hair flow in the passing breeze.

Once the Gate fully opened, I stepped forwards and stepped into the Great Hall, where I saw the Old Steelix waiting for me.

The Giant doors closed behind me as I greeted the Steelix.

" Hello there, Mountain Chief. It's a pleasure to see you again. I came here to inform you that I will be departing today, it's about time I go on my journey now that the year of training is finally over." I declared as I walked towards the Steelix.

" Ah, I see. I assume you're here to bid your farewells, or is there something else you would like to ask of me?" The Steelix inquired curiously.

" Ahem, well yes actually. I do have a question. I was wondering if you knew how I could get out of this mountain range and which route I should take to the closest human settlement." I coughed and asked the Steelix who adopted a thoughtful look at my question.

" Yes, there is a way out of this massive mountain range. The closest human settlement is one and a half weeks' worth of foot travel away its fraught with many dangers but knowing how powerful your newly evolved Aggron is and considering that you have the power of the Mighty Lord Groudon at your disposal, I wouldn't have to worry about you. It's located in the Johto Region and goes by the name Silver Town, its located close to the nearby Silver Mountain Peak. Many Pokemon from Johto and Kanto meet and mix in this particular Border between regions. Some even migrate from parts of Hoenn."  The Steelix spoke of the closest settlement in a neighbouring region, the Johto Region.

" What about the closest settlement in the Kanto Region?" I asked the Steelix, I didn't want to go the Johto Region just yet.

" The Kanto Region, huh? Well, the closest city is Viridian which should take around roughly 3 to four weeks depending on how fast you are on foot.  There are some small towns in the outskirts of this mountain range but most of them are isolated and have nothing much to offer. Come on top of my head. I will show you the general direction you must take, from above the mountain."  The Steelix said and I nodded and used an Aura-Enhanced Jump into the massive Steelix's head and created a massive Aura Shield.

The Ancient Shiny Crystalline Steelix immediately took us out of the Great Hall and went to a specific direction and dug us upwards. In a sizeable amount of time, we eventually reached our destination.

We eventually busted out of the ground and found ourselves in the Snowy Tundra Mountain's highest peak point much higher than where the wooden house was located.

" You see that Dormant Volcano over there? Do you know why Pokemon always avoid it?" The Steelix asked me a question that seemingly came out of nowhere but had piqued my curiosity the moment I came here. I noted the massive dormant Volcano which was the largest peak on this whole gargantuan mountain range. I couldn't help but shiver as I saw the gloomy clouds and the seemingly corrupted atmosphere.

" I have been always curious about it." I replied to the Steelix.

" It's a Pokemon Graveyard, filled with an Aura of Death and Terror. That Legendary Pokemon, The Yveltal I told you about a year ago, it was the cause of that massive destruction that made any Pokemon stay far away from that place. Only the brave and powerful go there, its a constant battlefield cursed by the God and Personification of Death itself." The Steelix sighed in what seemed to be sadness, as if though recalling something terrible from the past, before speaking again.

" Of course, even though the Yveltal left this mountain range centuries ago, this place was left in tatters ever since. That dormant volcano is fraught with disasters, the area doesn't just stop at the Dormant Volcano's Range but also the nearby mountains surrounding it, its all a massive Pokemon Graveyard filled to the brim with the aura of death. You want to go to Virdin as quickly as possible? You must pass through or around that dormant volcano first to reach there, it will take you three weeks if you go through that dangerous route, I know of a less dangerous route that will take 5 weeks if you want to take a safer route." The Steelix had ended the explanation with complete seriousness in his voice.

I felt a very bad aura coming from that place as I saw it in the distance.

This is one of the reasons I chose a very Powerful Flying Pokemon like Corviknight, once Rookidee fully evolves into a Corvisquire and Corviknight I will be able to fly across the mountains with ease. but right now, Rookidee is too small and weak to carry me around like that for hours on end. I could have flown around that whole place without having to go deep inside of it.

And both Groudon and Aggron were massive - tank Pokemon not built for quiet and peaceful travel even if they are ridiculously fast and could carry me for almost forever and dig underground but it could cause a lot of earthquakes and cause Pokemon habitats to experience massive aftereffects.

Not to mention the amount of panic Groudon can cause by merely existing, its chaotic and mighty Aura is so dense and powerful it makes any Pokemon faint on sight. That's why he has to constantly hide his aura so in the end it was too unethical to use Groudon and Aggron for travelling.

So, I am resorted to this. I chose Rookidee out of flying types like Pidgey, Spearow, Pidove, Starly, Skarmory, Taillow, Wattrel, Pikipek and Fletchinder for a reason. Rookidee's final evolution Corviknight's are not only rarer but also far more durable and powerful than other of the other flying types as Corviknight's are said to be solely dominating the skies of an entire region, when introduced to a new area in a new region they immediately take place as the most dominant force, unless they are taken to areas where Flying Pseudo-Legendary live.

I could have gone for a Charmander, which is even better than Rookidee and is a flying type of Pokémon in its final evolution stage as Charizard is more powerful than Corviknight, but the ticket didn't allow me to pick starters, pseudo legendries and etc. Hell, I could have gone for a salamence as I really needed a decent Pokemon that could fly around. I am grooming Rookidee to become a Powerful Corviknight that can help me travel massive distances in very short amounts of time.

" You know me old man, I am not afraid of danger. Plus, I have Aggron and Groudon on my side I think we could definitely handle some danger easily." I told the Old Steelix with a grin.

He chuckled.

" That's why I brought this up in the first place, if I didn't think you were ready, I wouldn't have told you about it." He spoke with a solemn tone as he shook his head.

" That's very sneaky of you, don't you think?" I said as I raised an eyebrow.

" If it means keeping you young ones safe than so, be it." The Steelix retorted back.

Over the year me and him sort of became friends, which makes sense why he is worrying so much about me.

" Alright, one last question. How big is this Graveyard exactly?" I asked curiously.

" It's the size of a small chain of mountains, about 50 mountain peaks wide give or take." He said as I observed the far away enormous dormant volcano surrounded by dozens of smaller mountains that were a bit smaller than the mountain, we currently were on the top off.

This whole place was filled with mountains of all shapes and sizes in all directions.

" I see, well I think its time I start my journey. Could you take me down of this mountain first though?" I asked the Steelix as I rubbed my neck in embarrassment as I didn't feel like walking all the way down this mountain as it was too cold.

" Fine." The Steelix said with sigh as I jumped back up on his head and he went down the hole we came out from.

He began travelling through the tunnel system as riding him felt like riding a massive and long underground driller. I do feel sorry for comparing him to a machine, but I was being honest in my thoughts. It was still amazing seeing Pokemon dig and travel underground with so much ease and little difficulty as if they are in their natural element, maybe because they are in their actual natural element.

I sat on his back with a self-made Aura Shield protecting me from the debris for another sizeable amount of time as we slowly travelled down the mountain. Eventually though, we made it through the mountain and came out of a cave on surface level, we encountered a few other Onix and Steelix along the way as we travelled down.

" Thanks for the ride, Chief." I thanked the Steelix as I hopped off of him.

" No problem, remember to not cause any trouble when you walk through the mountains, and you will travel swiftly without a hitch. Just remember to not stay or wander around a territory for far too long. Some Pokemon don't like it when humans wander their territory for too long."  The Ancient Steelix gave his last piece of advice as I began walking into the woods.

" Don't sweat it Chief, don't worry I wouldn't do anything out of line and cause chaos in Pokemon Clan territories." I said as I nodded in gratitude for everything the Ancient Crystalline Shiny Steelix had done for me and went on my way.

I noticed how I felt a bad nasty aura as I gazed into the direction of the Pokemon Graveyard.

~1 week later.

I watched as Aggron instructed and trained Rookidee as we laid camp for the day. It's been a whole week since I left the Steelix and Onix territory where I had been staying for the last year.

It's hard to believe, I had been in that place for roughly over a year and now I am finally travelling outside across uncharted and unknown lands. So far, nothing had been happening except the casual encounters with normal Pokemon, most of which had low Potential which didn't pique my interest.

I have been laying down camp every night, during this whole week I would let Aggron and Rookidee travel with me for protection. With both of them around I didn't have to worry about wild Pokemon especially with a Champion - Level Pokemon like Aggron around.

Groudon however was always in his Pokemon, he didn't complain as he slept inside the Pokeball all day long. I never brought him outside as he was simply too big and had a ridiculously powerful aura that would undoubtedly alert the nearby Pokemon Clans as we travelled and make them either come to us or flee their own territory.

As we drew closer and closer to the Pokemon Graveyard I couldn't help but feel all the aura of Death and Terror as it leaked from that place.

So far travelling had been going without a hitch as we neared the Pokemon Graveyard the Steelix spoke of, if we wake up at 6, we should arrive there by 12 o'clock morning. That place was just over hill, we couldn't see it but there were dark clouds hovering over the place, these clouds seemed to never move as they covered the entire mountain chain that was the Pokemon Graveyard.

As we went deeper and deeper into the direction of the Graveyard, we noticed how fewer and fewer Wild Pokemon could be seen.

Crossing the entire Pokemon Graveyard in by itself should take around a week and a half, and another half a week to reach viridian forest and pass by Viridian City.

My goal is to catch alteast one or two Pokemon but so far, I had no luck, I didn't find any Pokemon I wanted, I did find a few good Pokemon like Houndour and Tyrogue but their potential was too low for my taste, I did scan them though.

You can't blame me for being picky, I had standards.

Another thing I realized was that I won't be able to participate in this coming league as it was already two weeks into January and by the time we arrive at Viridian it would be already February which would leave around 3 -4 months to complete the gym circuit. Tobias who had could have possibly had an entire team of Mythical and Legendary Pokemon and only used his Darkrai for all his battles was stated to have completed the Sinnoh Gym Circuit which is probably as big as or bigger than Kanto in record time which is roughly three months. I didn't think I had enough time to cross the entire region in three months, the Pokemon World was massive the only reason humans in this world could cross long distances is thanks to their super-human physique that has adapted to the craziness of this world.

I knew nothing about the geographics of the Pokemon World so I would have a hard time navigating around on my own. So, it should be obvious that travelling across the region will take a long enough time on its own. So, I would probably have to skip this year altogether before properly making my debut across international television. I would undoubtedly gain massive popularity just by going through the Gym Circuit as these battles are also broadcasted by the league.

Pokemon Leagues by themselves are broadcasted world-wide. I think I should wait before participating in the Kanto league or any league for that matter. Becoming famous was a big deal, but it also signs a massive target on your head for trainers who always want to prove themselves and evil organizations. I had Aggron yes, but who knew what kind of tricks those organizations had up their sleeves.

I don't know how to feel about revealing Groudon to the world considering that I don't know how people will react to a trainer who has a Shiny Legendary Pokemon on his team.

Moving on, I was impressed with Rookidee's rate of growth, during this week its level soared from 75 to 85, that's ten whole levels in a week. It also seems to have picked up Aggron's habits as a training addict and even some of his morales.

Which is not necessarily a bad thing. But God, there is two of them now!

This week I got to spend a lot of time with Rookidee. She got used to me and Aggron and is sort of a die-hard fan of him now. So yeah, that's a thing now. Aggron's No.1 fan is Rookidee.

She will probably evolve during this trip into Corvisquire, or that's what I am hoping for. That's kind of what this whole training with Aggron is all about.

" Rookidee, Aggron come here food is ready!" I said cooking some food, it was a special meat plant that Aggron found with his ridiculous sense of smell.

I had come to learn that there are many food resources in the Pokemon World, like special trees that grow meat but those are grown on special areas that are protected. All Pokémon's are usually omnivores and eat both meat and vegetables. Some Pokemon even have a predatory diet and feed on weaker Pokemon.

Pokemon that are usually used for food are Specially Selected Low - Potential ranked Farm Pokemon that are usually herbivorous. It may sound weird to eat Pokemon, but I will try to get used to it. I couldn't believe that meat plants actually existed, but when I tried them a few months ago I was surprised by their taste, they tasted like meat.

I was surprised by all the plants I found in the Encyclopaedia I found from the Steelix trainer's wooden house. The diversity of the plants was so crazy, and it is probably outdated considering it was a book from 200 years ago, so I can only imagine all the crazy plants out there.

Aggron usually used his Aura to keep his body energized and stable. But every once in a while, he loves to eat rocks and metals. He apparently preferred Rocks and Metals over fruits, veggies and meat.

As I was lost in my thoughts, I noticed that Aggron and Rookidee had come and Rookidee began eating as Aggron merely picked up some random rocks from the ground and ate them instead.

Aggron had not levelled up which was unsurprising considering that not only was he focused on training Rookidee but also as a Level 205 it took extreme effort to level up even a single level.

Speaking of Rookidee, this is what Rookidee's stats look like right now.

" Good job on training her so far Aggron, at this rate she will be ready to evolve in about a week or two." I said as I petted the Rookidee.

Making the Shiny Aggron puff his chest in pride at compliment and the progress his student has made in a week.

He loves compliments, doesn't he?

I chuckled as I quickly ate all my food and began laying down the tent.

" Okay I am going to sleep you two, wake me up if anything happens." I told the two Pokemon who nodded, I nodded and went back to sleep in the sleeping bag inside the tent,

~ Several hours later.

I woke up to hearing a massive noise outside the tent and saw Aggron watching as Rookidee fought a swarm of Beedrills and looking extremely injured, half of the swarm was faint as Rookidee fought bravely against the swarm.

I gasped and ran towards Aggron who noticed me and gave a nod of acknowledgement as I ran up to him.

" Aggron, what's going on? What happened and why aren't you helping Rookidee?" I questioned the Shiny Aggron who rubbed his neck.

" Aggron, Aggron." Aggron explained, I understood what he said as his message was translated to me telepathically. He wasn't fully capable of Human Speech yet, so he was speaking to me telepathically.

this what he said.

" While we were standing guard Rookidee was attacked by a swarm of Beedrill, I tried to help but Rookidee told be to stay back as this was her fight and wouldn't forgive me If I interfered, what a stubborn lady she is." Was Aggron's words.

" SHE WHAT? " I said in shock and surprise, she really wanted to do whatever she could to impress Aggron didn't she? I think its more of an effort to gain his acknowledgement. rather than romantic though.

I could see that Aggron was prepared to go in the moment Rookidee appeared to be close to death, Rookidee used roost and seemed to heal up all her wounds.

I watched as one by one Rookidee had took another one down and eventually even used Gust, taking a few of them down except for the stronger ones.

' She learned a new move....' I said surprised that she was able to learn a new move.

The battle went on for 15 more minutes as she took the final Beedrill down before collapsing down after defeating the leader of the Beedrill.

The constant use of Roost and fighting must have really pushed her a lot.

" Rookidee!" I shouted in worry as I went to check on her, I saw her stats and realized she passed the 100 Mark.

" Rooki....." Said Rookidee weakly as she couldn't move, which meant ' Was that a good performance?', before I could reply I heard Aggron speak behind me.

" Aggron."  Aggron spoke saying that she was extremely reckless, but she handled herself extremely well in what could be considered a life-or-death situation, and complimented her strong will and said she did great.

I nodded as I also spoke.

" You did great Rookidee, you deserve a break. I said applying some potions I had thankfully found from the Old Wooden House.

In mere moments after the potions were used, she was fully healed but still looked completely exhausted as she had run out of Aura which is why she couldn't use Roost now.

I took a look at her stats and noticed..... She passed the level 100 mark! Seems like that battle pushed her to her absolute limit and made her achieve a massive Limit Break.  Taking down all these Beedrills must have given one hell of a Exp Boost.

I allotted the points from the level up and observed her stats.

" You have gotten quite a bit stronger Rookidee." I congratulated Rookidee as it smiled at my compliment.

" I think you're ready to evolve now." I said taking off the Everstone necklace shocking both her and Aggron as I stepped back, Aggron also stepped back as he realized what was about to happen.

Rookidee began to shine as it shone with a brilliant light and began to undergo evolution.

I also received a notification from both the system and Pokedex. I muted the Pokedex temporarily and looked at the system notification.

My Flying Pokemon type affinity went from C to AA in one go! Holy crap.

I switched my attention to Rookidee or should I say Corvisquire as the light of evolution that shone brightly around her dimmed as her evolution process finished.

I watched as the previously 0.6-meter sized bird size doubled, no tripled no! it was even bigger than that! I couldn't help but gape at the massive bird as she underwent a massive transformation, and this was only her second form.

I observed its stats and was relatively impressed by the stats as I allotted the points as it had apparently experienced another level up from the evolution it had experienced.

Corvisquire shrieked as it spread out its wings, its new-found power and aura shaking the forest.

" You look absolutely awesome Corvisquire!"

" Corvis! Corvisquire!" Corvisquire thanked me and Aggron for helping it reach this point.

" There is no need to thank us you earned it! Oh yeah you should put this back on!" I said as Aggron nodded at my statement, meanwhile I put the everstone necklace back on her neck and observed her newfound stats.

" I am very impressed with how much you have grown, Corvisquire." I complimented the raven Pokemon even more as I observed her stats.

She was 2.4 now as a Corvisquire, I wonder how big she will be as a Corviknight? Too back I couldn't check on the Pokedex unlike I did with Groudon because I hadn't 'Seen' or 'Caught' a Corviknight, but their pre-evolved forms.

I could ride on her back right now considering her current size is enough to fit me on her back, but I am very tempted to explore this ' Pokemon Graveyard' I heard about and see more of it personally. Besides I have a feeling that tells me I shouldn't fly over the Pokemon Graveyard Mountain Chain recklessly.

" We should pack our things up and go, the Pokemon Graveyard Mountain Chain is up ahead." I said telling the two Pokemon to prepare themselves to venture now.

I packed up the tent, camping tools and left over foods and plants with Corvisquire and Aggron's help and nodded to Corvisquire and Aggron.

" We are ready to go."  I nodded and began walking and took the lead with them following behind, we were going up the hill where the Pokemon Graveyard should be visible.

As we walked and got closer, I felt the dreadful aura get stronger and more potent the closer we got.

I decided to check my update my status with the ten points I got from Convisquire's level up.

I felt tension as Aggron and Corvisquire looked extremely alert. Corvisquire looked nervous even with her newly attained power, Aggron looked a bit cautious, but he wasn't afraid but rather excited as I saw the thrill and anticipation in his eyes at the thought of a battle. Both me and Corvisquire stuck really close to Aggron as he was our first line of defence. I held the Master ball in belt, I didn't want to use Groudon. But if the situation got bad and Mega Evolution proved to not be enough, I will use him, Groudon was my ace in the hole. My trump card that hid itself as Aggron acted as the substitute trump card.

I could feel the dreadful deadly and fear-inducing aura that seeped from beyond the hill, but I wasn't afraid as I had a Champion - Level Pokemon that could Mega Evolve and a Legendary Pokemon at my side.

' Yveltal must be a really terrifying legendary Pokemon.' I couldn't help but conclude as I felt the dreadful aura that spread fear across my body, His power was so potent that he could affect an area even after centuries had passed.

As expected from the Legendary hailed as the God of Death, Dread and Terror.

I am more surprised by the fact that Xerneas, the God of Life, Tranquillity and Joy hadn't appeared to remedy this place yet. Surely there is more than enough Xerneas's around to fix this place.

Me and the two Pokemon walked for several hours, with the dreadful aura becoming more and more potent as we went deeper and deeper, the sun was eventually consumed by the Dark Clouds that hovered over the terrain.

The constant Dark Clouds echoed with whimsical thunder that appeared randomly every now and then as we trenched deeper and deeper. Eventually the aura got too strong we eventually needed to cover our bodies with our Aura to prevent the Fear and Deathly auras from invading our bodies.

Aggron lost his excited and thrilled look and had a very serious expression with narrowed eyes as we walked, he was ready to jump into action.

Corvisquire stuck really close to Aggron as it flew around him occasionally turned its head around, scouting the area from a higher view.

We eventually reached the top of the hillside as Corvisquire landed next to me looking shocked and scared as it witnessed what laid beyond the horizon of the hilltop.

I walked forwards for a few more minutes and eventually came to a stop as I muttered.

" We are finally..... here...." I felt my heart stop for a second at what I saw.

Beyond the expanse of the forest and hill laid a dark, dull and flattened wasteland, filled with the dreadful aura of death and terror.

But the reason my heart almost stopped was due to the carnage I saw.

Mountains and Mountains of Pokemon skeletons and corpses lay around the vast Pokemon Graveyard chain. The smell of blood reeked as the Graveyard entered our view, there was a clear path of destruction and chaos as dozens of Pokemon Skeletons and Corpses laid around. Some centuries old, others a few decades old and some even a few years old.

It was an extremely disgusting sight of dead Pokemon, that Yveltal had truly ravaged this land.

But the question is, what had angered it so much to cause such endless devastation? Some mountains looked broken to the point of collapse as they barely stood strongly, mere former shells of themselves. The sea looked contaminated with death as it was poisoned beyond repair. The plants were all dead, mere husks of wood that emanated death.

It was all an overwhelming sight to behold. The graveyard seemed endless as it expanded to where beyond the eyes could see.

I gulped as I spoke.

" To think, we would have to go deep into this place and walk for roughly 1 week and half...." I said with nervousness. I didn't know how to feel about going into a place filled with skeletons, corpses and seas of death and blood, good thing I have enough food and water to last me for the trip. As for Rookidee and Aggron, they could use their Auras to passively maintain their bodies.

I wasn't the only person to think about this and speak as my Pokemon had things to say too.

" Aggron." Aggron narrowed his eyes as he agreed with my comment, at first, he was shocked at the sight before him, his eyes filled with his resolve and determination to see this through and conquer these lands with his newfound might that he had worked hard to achieve during this past year.

Some of these skeletons were his own people, Arons and Larion's laid about with some rare Aggron Skeletons laying around. He was now extremely angry and disgusted, he wanted to make the Pokemon or Human responsible pay with blood.

" Corvisquire!" Corvisquire shrieked as it shivered in fear at what it had seen before its eyes, asking if we should really go in there and questioned whether or not such a rotten and dreadful place was actually safe to walk into. She seemed really nervous and fearful as this was probably the scariest thing she ever did in her whole life.

" We can't back out now guys, Aggron prepare yourself in case we need this. Or him...." I told the Aggron as I pointed out my Keystone to him making his eyes widen before nodding, I also mentioned 'Him', referring to Groudon inside my Masterball as I held the Masterball in my hand making Aggron shiver at having to resort to Groudon before nodding again.

We began walking down the hill. Me, Shiny Aggron and Corvisquire. Unknown to us is the dangers that await in the dreadful graveyard. It was undoubtedly going to be an unforgettable experience filled with excitement and the dreadful unknown that dwell within these corrupted lands that have long been abandoned and have been fraught with death for centuries.

Chapter Nine - Ends

IMPORTANT NOTE BELOW!!!!!

Author Note: Do I have your attention? Good because now, I have two completely different scripts for this next chapter, there is one question I have for all of you. Depending on your answers, I will choose which script to go with. Another thing you need to know is he gets a Pokemon this next chapter from both scripts. But a different Pokemon in each script.

The question is: Do you want him to encounter a Legendary Pokemon in the Pokemon Graveyard? The Pokemon isn't going to be Yveltal but a different Legendary. Please answer this question wisely, you can vote either Yes or No, just because there is the option of a new legendary appearing from the first time in this story doesn't specifically mean that he will actually catch a Legendary, but who knows?

Will you choose the boring route or interesting route? I won't tell you which route is the interesting one and which one is the boring one though, I can't wait to hear your answers.

I am really hoping you all go with the interesting route in your voting.
