9 Chapter Eight:

Main Character Pov~

Finally, an entire year had passed since we had completed our training and now, I was standing in front of Lairon, Groudon was far behind me, watching from afar. His apparent immense size and presence now were undoubtedly proving to be too heavy for anything who feels it for the first time. Groudon was actually trying his best to keep his immeasurable reserves of power hidden but he was simply too strong. Groudon had become a true force of nature, in the last three months his power had tremendously grown, and he had finally stepped into the realm of Myth and Gods.

" Good work so far Lairon, you finally reached the Level 200 mark. Now that's it's been a whole year lets evolve you into an Aggron." I said congratulating Lairon for all the hard work he had put during this whole year, He was currently Level 200, which he had reached last night. Just in time for the year to end.

I also grew a bit taller as I was now 17 years old, I was 6 feet and 3 and a half.

I wore a dark black trench coat, black gloves and black boots. These clothes belonged to the old trainer of the Ancient Steelix, he really loved the colour black apparently.

I had both my Shiny Groudon's Master Ball and Shiny Lairon's Ultra Ball attached to my brown Pokeball belt and had a grey backpack that some other important stuff.

" Lairon." Lairon nodded with respect as he thanked me for choosing him as my Pokemon last year, he then excitedly grinned at the thought of finally evolving and becoming an Aggron.

I took off the rope Everstone Necklace from Lairon's neck and stashed it inside my backpack and stepped a safe distance away from Lairon as the Shiny Pokemon began glowing, causing everything around him to darken as he began to undergo his final evolution stage.

He grew double his size and continued growing as his shape slowly shifted from a Pokemon who is on all fours to a Pokemon who stood on two legs. His size becoming extremely larger as he did so.

I gaped seeing his new form as the Aura emanating from this Form was pretty overwhelming if I wasn't used to it by now, being around a creature like Groudon kind of numbs your instincts from screaming out in fear. Especially since Groudon's Aura is extremely compatible and friendly with me and Lairon, or Should I say Aggron now?

I said as the light show finally ended revealing Shiny Aggron in his full glory.

" ROAR!" Aggron let out a deep and powerful roar as it shook the entire mountain, his Aura now being somewhat comparable to the Ancient Crystalline Shine Steelix, but Aggron's Aura was weaker than his which makes sense considering he only just evolved.

I smiled in satisfaction as I brought out a Mega Bracelet and put the Aggronite on it went towards Aggron with excitement.

Aggron's eyes widened as he felt a strange connection between him and the Mega Stone form as he comes in close proximity to the stone.

" It's time to place this on you, buddy. You have earned it!" I said as I placed it on his wrist, the size of the bracelet naturally morphed to match Aggron's as it fit on his arm. He was really huge now! More than double his previous height.

Immediately as I finished that thought both me and Aggron felt a connection form as both the Keystone and Mega Stone on our respective Mega Bracelet's shone as I felt a mystical thread connect both the Mega Stone and Keystone as the connection between me and Aggron deepened even further.

The Shiny Aggron looked at it with complete joy as he grinned widely and looked at me with a mischievous look and appeared in front me and hugged me.

" A-Aggron, I-I can't b-breathe..... " I said as I began to gasp for air as I felt I was being crushed by his bear hug. After a couple of more seconds, he let me go as I panted taking in all the air deep into my lungs.

I chuckled at Aggron's attitude, that was his way of showing gratitude. He was a very chivalrous Pokemon after all.

I observed Aggron's current stats and allotted the points once more as he levelled up from evolving but it wasn't as big of a level up as before.

I couldn't help but admire and grin in excitement at seeing his current stats.

' Not bad Aggron. Your freaking powerful as hell now!' I thought excitedly as I looked at the Shiny Aggron's stats.

Look at this beautiful masterpiece!

I finally have a fully evolved Non-Legendary Pokemon on my team.

I felt my Pokedex beeped and took it out as it notified that my Shiny Lairon evolved into a Shiny Aggron and began speaking.

" Aggron the Iron Armour Pokemon, Aggron is a Steel/Rock type Pokémon and the final evolution stage of the Aron and Lairon Evolution line. Aggron is a large, bipedal, dinosaur-like Pokémon with a steel-plated body. Its head is topped with a pair of curved, pointed horns. It has blue eyes, a large tail, and claws on its hands and feet. It is described as a very territorial Pokemon; it claims an entire mountain as its own.

Its iron horns grow longer a little at a time. They are used to determine the Aggron's age. A special behaviour of this species is that Aggron's that have gouges in their armour wear them with pride and regarded as precious mementos from all battles it had fought.

Aggron is surprisingly protective of its environment. If its mountain is ravaged by a landslide or a fire, this Pokémon will haul topsoil to the area, plant trees, and beautifully restore its own territory. Long ago, there was a king who wore a helmet meant to resemble the head of an Aggron. He was trying to channel the Pokémon's strength. This Particular Aggron is currently caught and is a rare Shiny Pokemon." The Pokedex ended its extremely long explanation with a beep, my Aggron who was close to me was curious as to what other members of its species do and lent an ear to hear everything the Pokedex was saying.

I put the Pokedex back into my Trench coat Pocket and looked at the Shiny Aggron.

" I am going to rely on you a lot for the foreseeable future, Aggron." I told the Aggron with a smile as it puffed its chest and said, 'Leave it to me!'

Aggron then asked if we could try Mega Evolution, I smiled as I told him we could! What better time to try it than in the wilderness of this massive mountain range?

I was also excited to see what Mega Evolution was like.

I stepped back once more and raised my bracelet.

" Brace yourself, Aggron!" I said as I prepared myself.

Aggron took a battle stance as it stomped the ground, shaking the whole mountain.

I poured my spirit into my stance as I asked the Keystone to activate Aggron's Mega Evolution.

It ended up working, or I think it did as I felt the souls of me and Aggron phase through each other as Aggron roared into the sky and began the Process of Mega Evolution, the sky Darkened, and the Atmosphere became extremely heavy as Aggron's Aura Exploded alongside my own, I didn't feel overwhelmed by Aggron's Aura, rather I felt we were in complete and utter harmony as our bond became something physically and spiritually more powerful as we felt a deep connection that combined our wills and exploded in a radiant blazing fury of raging aura.

Aggron's becoming less of a Rock Type and more Steel Type as he is transforming, losing his Rock Typing but becoming even more powerful as his Steel Type Power elevated to immeasurable heights.

The weather became hectic as the light from Aggron's evolution, and our combined spirit and aura had illuminated everything around us, the Pokemon below the mountain wondered what was happening as the weather became extremely chaotic.

By the time we were done, the clouds in the sky vanished as if they were not there as a massive pillar of aura erupted from Aggron, rendering him not visible to anyone watching.

After a few more seconds, everything calmed down as Aggron underwent Mega Evolution, he was more armoured and even bigger than before. His power was ridiculously massive as it eclipsed the power of the Ancient Steelix Mountain Chief.

I raised an eyebrow, only Steel huh? Mega Aggron is a Pure Steel - Type so it makes sense. This whole process kind of made me sort of become one with Aggron for a moment so I experienced his extreme Steel - Type Power as our souls connected.

' Holy, that's really extremely powerful.' I said as I stared at the Mega Shiny Aggron in amazement.

The Mega Aggron himself was astonished at his current level of power. As I read through everything, I noticed how there was a new writing on the screen.

' Mega Evolution Mastery?' It seems that our current mastery is only 1. It makes sense I guess, we can only Mega Evolution for 30 minutes now huh?

" AGGRON!" Aggron roared as he was now cheering and laughing in joy as he was extremely excited about this new power.

His Health was over a million in this form, which undoubtedly made him a powerful force to be reckoned with.

Aggron was now testing his new power by blitzing around and using new attacks directed towards the sky to cause minimal damage.

In the meantime, Groudon who had been watching this whole time had come and congratulated Aggron on both his Evolution and Mega Evolution, even if the Mega Evolution was temporary.

Even though Shiny Mega Aggron was extremely large as he completely dwarfed me in size, he was still small and tiny compared to Groudon who had finally reached his adulthood, whenever Groudon walks and patrols the mountain all Pokemon who see him bow and kneel before him. They treat him like a god, Legendary Pokemon like Groudon are treated with extreme respect and reverence by all Pokemon.

Snapping me out of my thoughts, a screen appeared notifying me of something...

Those are some fairly decent rewards if I am being honest.

Around 50 more Rare candies and a Pokemon of Choice Ticket? All of this because I had gained a Mega Stone and a Keystone and Mega Evolved a shiny Pokemon....

Once quests like these were completed you couldn't receive the rewards for the Bonus and Extra Bonus Objective unless you actually did them from the first time around, so you cannot loophole into doing these Extra Bonus Objectives from these hidden missions and expect to get the rewards.

To be fair, I was already extremely satisfied with what I had gotten from this. This gives me time to think about what Pokemon I wanted to summon and catch, I think I should go with a Pokemon that has a lot of evolutions to make it so that as it levels up, it's Potential will increase.

The Pokemon of Choice isn't as good as it sounds, I was given limited options and even a limit cap on the Potential, which is fine. I can work with an AAA - Rank affinity, I can increase it with training. I just need to pick a Pokémon that will be extremely useful to me for the future.

I looked at Groudon and decided to observe him next, he was truly ginormous it was like looking at Godzilla, that's how huge he was. The sheer pressure of his existence and voice made everyone tremble before his majesty.

This was bound to be interesting to see.

Yup, he is a total monster, isn't he? Those Stats speak volumes already without me having to say any word. He wasn't even a Level 400 + yet which was the lowest level requirement for a UX Ranked Pokemon.

I noted as I saw Aggron and Groudon talk about having a sparring session to make Aggron get a feel for its new Mega Evolved strength.

Both Groudon and Aggron will undoubtedly continue to grow stronger as time goes on. I just wonder how powerful Groudon will become once we find a Red Orb and he attains a Primal Form.

Questions for later..... But it was safe to say that Shiny Groudon is the undisputed number one Pokemon I have. He is on a whole other league compared to Shiny Aggron and despite the fact that Shiny Mega Aggron. Mega's receive three times boost on top of their stats and become complete monsters, they still paled in comparison to Legendary Pokemon. My Aggron was fair example as it was undoubtedly one of the strongest members of its species so that's another thing to consider.

A Level 200 Pokemon was considered a cataclysmic natural disaster of a Pokemon as it could bring an entire nation and civilization to ruins, let alone a Level 200 Pokemon who can Mega Evolve. Only Top - Tier Champion Level Trainers have Pokemon of this calibre and most of them only have one, and even fewer of them can possibly Mega Evolve.

I wonder what will Groudon's stats look like when they reach 450 +. Because that's probably the strength level of an average Groudon, Primal Groudon was another matter entire. If Mega Evolution tripled the power of Pokemon, what would something like Primal Ascension do?

Gigantamax, Primal Ascension, Terastallizing, Mega Evolution and Origin Forms were all things that can fairly be considered overpowered trump cards to have. Right now, I was really tempted to try and catch another Legendary Pokemon, probably something in the EX-category.

It will really help me balance the power vacancy of my team a bit more, currently I had two Pokemon and they were Shiny Aggron who could go Mega for thirty minutes and Shiny Groudon.

The vacuum between them left by the huge power gap needed to be filled with a Pokemon to provide a decent training partner for both Groudon and Mega Aggron. If Aggron trained with Groudon it would just end up with a one-sided massacre as Groudon always knocks Aggron out with one attack.

I saw Mega Aggron spar with as it rushed forward and tried to attack Groudon with a Metal Burst attack and get immediately curb stomped as Groudon comically smacked its tail on Aggron without even using a move sending Mega Aggron down a massive trench as his Mega Evolution wore out in an instant as he fainted.

Seems like even as a Mega Aggron is receiving the same treatment. Groudon isn't even trying. I noticed as I rushed towards Aggron to check for any injuries but seems like he was fine, he just had a massive bump on the head. Just a good rest will make him feel better, I withdrew him back into his Ultra ball and put it back on my belt and sighed.

I went towards Groudon who looked disappointed as Mega Aggron didn't even last 5 seconds against him.

" Groudon, we will have a new member added to our team soon. We also need to get prepared. Tomorow we will leave on our journey." I explained to the Groudon who looked really disappointed and bored at how the match ended.

" A new team member, eh? It's about time. It was getting boring with just me and Aggron. I heard official teams had six Pokemon so I can't wait to meet him, but for now I will take a nap." Groudon replied as he yawned, his yawn causing a massive violent breeze.

" I see, I will take care of everything myself them. You can go inside your Pokeball." I said as I withdrew him and put him back inside the master ball.

I was planning on paying the ancient Steelix one last visit before packing everything up for our journey, but I guess I can make a detour and summon my Pokemon of Choice first.

I brought out the Pokemon of Choice Ticket and used it as I thought of a Pokemon I wanted.

Immediately the Ticket turned into dust as a Pokemon materialized in front of me.

" Rooki?" It was a Rookidee, the first evolution stage of a Pokemon that goes by the name "Corviknight" it's one of the best Pokemon's to come out of the Ninth Generation in my opinion.

Its first evolution and second evolution stage were pure flying type, but the final evolution was a Dual Type mix of Steel Type and Flying Type. The Good thing about Rookidee is that the final evolution, Corviknight its not only the largest Non-Legendary Bird Pokemon but also the strongest.

I really liked this Pokemon and figured that it would be extremely rare to non-existent in the Kanto Region, so I had caught it.

My appearance had caught Rookidee's attention as it tilted its head cutely as it saw me before looking around confusedly.

I walked to it and knelt down and brought out an Ultra Ball.

" Hello there, Rookidee. I know your confused right now, but I wanted to ask you if you could be part of my Pokemon team? You see, I am planning to become the most Powerful Pokemon trainer in the world and to do that I need extremely powerful Pokemon like you. I already have two other Pokemon who would love to meet you, what do you think? Do you want to join my team?" I had asked the Rookidee the ultimate question as it tilted in head in confusion before adopting a thoughtful expression, I felt it think about my offer with serious consideration.

An entire minute had passed as the Rookidee finally flew up and tweeted as it told me that it would join me if I promised to help it evolve into a Corviknight someday.

" Of course, that's been my goal from the very beginning you see. But to ensure maximum growth you need to wear this necklace; it will help stop your evolution until the time is right." I told the bird Pokemon as it looked confused but nodded as it realized that this would probably make it even stronger, so it reluctantly agreed as I put the Everstone necklace on its neck and touched the bird Pokemon with an ultra-ball.

The Pokedex beep as my capture registered in its system.

I used this moment to observe the stats of the bird Pokemon as it rested in the Ultra Ball.

I was satisfied by its overall stats; I mean she still had a long way to go. Our current Pokemon & Trainer Bond also definitely needs some work. But by the time this Pokemon is a fully evolved my affinities with Flying Types will undoubtedly increase significantly.

Now everything is coming together nicely, I have three Pokemon on my team.

I brought out Rookidee and told it that I was going to introduce it to its new teammates.

The Rookidee nodded as it seemed excited to meet its new teammates. Little did it know, what kind of monsters I had on my team.

This Rookidee itself was quite impressive, considering that its a Level 75 Pokemon which are quite rare to come across in the wild.

But the moment I brought out Shiny Groudon and Shiny Aggron the Rookidee almost fainted in fear as it felt the aura and power of these monsters. After calming it down and introducing them to each other the Rookidee's eyes shines in complete admiration as it gazed at both Groudon and Aggron who seemed interested in the newcomer at first but slowly lost interest after seeing how weak it was. But they gave it a nod of acknowledgement as they trusted my judgement into adding this Pokemon into the team.

I was planning to train Rookidee along the way as we ventured across the region in our journey and left its training to Aggron who got along nicely with the bird Pokemon.

They spent hours together as Aggron kept talking about this past year and how it grew under my training and became as strong as it was. now.

The Rookidee seemed to look at me in a completely different light as I felt its respect for me skyrocket as it heard of all the stories from Aggron. Groudon merely went back to sleep, so I sent him back to inside Pokeball. She was extremely nervous around Groudon and always remained a safe distance from the gargantuan legendary Pokemon whenever he was nearby.

The only ones in this mountain who approached Groudon directly were me, Aggron and the Steelix who maintained his stature as the Mountain Chief but showed extreme respect and reverence for Groudon. Everyone in the territory knew of Groudon's existence by now, he was considered a Guardian Deity of this territory after all.

I smiled and chuckled as I went inside my house as it had become night-time, All the Pokemon were back in their Pokeballs.

Well, seems like I can't visit the Steelix today. Time really flies back really fast, by the time I noticed it, it was already too late as it had become too late.

Tomorrow morning will be the time I start my journey and leave this mountain I have been in for this past year. I will have to visit the Steelix too. He surely knows of a couple ways to get out of this mountain range as fast as possible.

Though, maybe I could find a new Pokemon to catch if one of them piques my interest.

' For now, though. I have some packing up to do.' I thought with a sigh as I had too much work to do.
