Chapter 8 : A Normal Day at Shrek Academy

Waking up in an unfamiliar environment, it took some time for me before remembering that I was now in Shrek Academy.

As I stare blankly at room very spacious room, I could help but think about how I end up here. Honestly it was pretty shameful.

As the second Prince of the Star Luo Empire and title contender to the throne of the Star Luo Empire, it would be far more logical if I currently lived in the the Star Luo Empire's Castle. But because of the cruel heir competition and my old cowardice, I flew away. Leaving behind even my fiancée.

All of this because I was afraid of my older brother, Davis. But running away also allowed me to encounter someone that may have change my life. A monster born with innate full Soul Power as a food Soul Master :Oscar!

That guy, even though he was one year younger than me, and just reach the level 20,he was stronger than me!

Even now, I still had some difficulties in accepting that a food type soul master could actually trash around a Soul Beast type Soul Master.

I met that 'monster' in Radle City. One of the city near Star Duo Forest. At that time I was in a bad mood for having just escaped from the Empire through the forest. So when he and I accidentally bumped into each other in this busy street, I could help but fight with him to vent my anger.

At first, when I saw that he was a Food type Soul Master, I had lost some of my will to fight. But then, we fought. And I learned what it mean to be a frog at the bottom of the well.

Taking out his sausage, he elongated it to transform it into a bo staff. And with his martial arts, he was able to defend against my attacks. The most outrageous thing however was when he use the oil present in his sausage to carry out elemental like Soul Skills.

His oil had boil effect, take fire, and even froze itself! That wasn't taking account the natural slipping effect of oil in general, which make it impossible for me to hit him effectively every time I landed a hit at him. So in a few move, Oscar beat me until I could barely move.

Even though losing against an auxiliary Soul Master was humiliating, I still convinced about this defeat. But it also almost made lose confidence against myself. After all, as a war type Soul Master with a top notch Martial Soul Soul Beast, losing against a sausage Soul Master just mean that I was a trash.

If it wasn't for Oscar to show me the direction to get stronger and made me see that as long as my determination was enough, I could obtain my wish, I don't know what would I be or where to go.

But from the little I saw in this Academy, choosing Shrek Academy was the right decision.

So after grooming myself, and went eating in the cafeteria with the my 3 other classmate, we followed Ma Hongjun to the Cultivation Ground and entered in the library.

Honestly I was a bit puzzled by this arrangements. Isn't there an opening ceremony or something? Or better yet what are we doing here? Not being able to contain my curiosity, I asked Ma Hongjun who answered a bit embarrassed.

"The Dean think that welcome ceremony in general, but especially when there's only three of you this year, is just a wast of money. So he didn't do it. Honestly, the Dean is good and generous everywhere, but when it comes to money, believe me in saying that he's really stingy with it. If that guy could gain money and never spit it out in his live, he would do it without hesitation."

...That honestly wasn't the answer I was expecting. And looking at the others and their dumbfounded face, I don't think they did too.

"But well, it's not really important, so don't pay too much attention to that. As for what we're doing here, well you are here to receive your future books that will guide you in your cultivation. "Every new Shrek Academy student will be grant 2 self created Soul Skill by the Academy, not counting the cultivation techniques of course. And this is, where those bracelets Soul Guide are used. Because other than protecting you from the security system, those ID Soul Guide, or IDSG also scan your body periodically. The information it gain through this scan is then registered directly somewhere in a Soul Guide create especially to gather and stock all informations of the Academy. Then when you want to chose the best Soul Skill for you, with the information that Soul Guide gathered, it will give you a list of all the Soul Skills that fit you the most through this Cristal Soul Guide."

That was another surprise... Honestly at this point I should just learn to not be surprised by all of this anymore.

Actually it may be because I was too tired yesterday so I didn't react, but what the hell! Can a Soul Guide do all those things?! And more importantly...

"Hum... Little Brother Hongjun, your amazing Big Brother Xu Fengshi has a question for you. Where did you get all those Soul Guides?" Asked awkwardly Xu Fengshi.

But we all decided to ignore his way of talking and just focus on Ma Hongjun to see how he'll reply to the question we all wanted an answer to.

"Initially, I was going to go bring you there after and explain it to you at the same time at that time, but well. Actually all those Soul Guide weren't found in ruins or something like that, they were all created in Shrek Academy by the professor and the Dean after the Dean learned how to create Soul Guides.

So the reason this Academy has so many different kind of Soul Guide is because we created them ourselves. Moreover, if you want to learn you won't have to worry about it, because learning about Soul Guides is a must in this Academy.

And don't worry about not being able to learn, after learning a mental technique, learning Soul Guide became very easy."

Suddenly I don't know why, but I suddenly remembered the Dean's words from yesterday. 'What other Academy have, we have it too, and what they don't have, we also have it.'

"Shrek is indeed the best Academy." I couldn't help but sigh.
