Awakening Day

Loud thunderous noises were everywhere. "Grrrrrr!" dragons' roar could be heard. The air itself was trembling as a twirl of energy was all over the world as some people could be heard fighting at the distance. It was like if the world itself was about to collapse, it was a true Apocalypsis.

"Don't worry, mum would protect you" A strand of golden hair, a beautiful and warm smile but a sad one at the same time accompanied by a small kiss over my forehead "I love you" Some humid feeling fell over my face, tears.

"RENSHI!!!!!!"

I opened my eyes seeing a cute boy with spiky black hair and big eyes with long eyelashes "Wulin stop pushing!" I shoved Wulin away who had wakened me up with his shouts and pushes.

"How could you be asleep on such an important day?" Wulin said waving his arms "Today is the day, today we will awaken our spirit!" he said excitedly.

"Yes, yes. But could you be more careful next time? Try some subtlety in waking me up" I complained.

"It never worked before." Wulin made a big grin "You have a too profound sleep, brother"

"Touche" I scratched my head knowing that he was right. It could be some fire outside with people crying madly and I would be able to keep sleeping. "I'm already awake. Let me prepare for today. You can go to have breakfast before."

"Don't take too long!" Wulin said before leaving my room towards the dining room.

Without Wulin, the tranquility returns. I touched my forehead remembering the sensation, the warmth and sadness of the dream "Again the same dream" I sighed. That smile and kiss, I had dreamed of them since I could remember, becoming a recurring dream.

I stood up and stood over a mirror, there my image is reflected. Soft short black hair, long slashes with a very white skin, showing a cute face that hadn't lost its baby fat. I am very similar to my brother Wulin, our biggest difference is our eyes. Both of them are black, but his eyes are big and round while mines are sharper, giving Wulin a cuter image. People says that with our eyes closed, we are very alike, difficult to differentiate.

I quickly start dressing, wearing a blue shirt and pants with a white sweatshirt.

6 years had passed since I was reincarnated over the Douluo Dalu world by that lazy God. God had kept his promise and had reincarnated me as Wulin's brother. Seeing our similarities it was clear our relation, being both twins. Now, I am named Tang Renshi and for what it seemed, I would be quite handsome int he future.

These 6 years had been kind of boring. As a little boy, my movements were highly restricted, not being able to do anything impactful, some light exercises to make a little stronger my body and not much. I was a very normal people in my other world without any martial art knowledge and too frightened to really train and stress my little body. As physically I was restricted, I tried to obtain information about the world, specially wanting to know the changes in this world respect the novels, but again a problem occurred. I didn't have access to such information, the most were child books and it was difficult to differentiate what was fiction and truth in them. For what I know, this world is very similar to my last if you take away the spirits. Being technologically very similar, having modern services like electricity and home appliances with a mix of cultivation artifacts like inventory rings.

I made a quick look over the mirror and went towards the dining room. There, a table full of food was already prepared, Wulin plus two adults already being sat around it.

"Clean your hand before eating, Renshi" A middle-aged woman warned me. She had dark blue hair and while she wasn't a peerless beauty, she had a special charm in her.

"Yes, mum!" I answered cleaning my hands and sitting next to Wulin.

"Nervous about today?" A middle-aged average man with short black hair and black eyes asked "You must have been so nervous last night that you couldn't sleep, finally falling asleep late" He smiled at me.

"It might be the case" I diverted my gaze, he was completely right.

They were Lang Yue and Tang Ziran, my new parents. Having listened some spoilers in my last life, I knew that my true parents would be Tang San and Xiao Wu, Lang Yue and Tang Ziran being my adoptive parents. However, for me who had my last life memories, they were much more my parents rather than my biological ones. In the end, they were the ones that cared for me as I grew, not even remembering Tang San and Xiao Wu.

They are very caring and good parents, always putting priority on Wulin and me, striving at maximum to make sure that we didn't miss anything. With their cheerful nature and affection towards me, they had made it very difficult for me to not love them. By now, I already accepted them as my true parents, much more than the bastards that called themselves that in my life last, better not talk about them.

I had never had a brother or sister so Wulin was a great chance, a good one. He was so cute, always trying to imitate me who really learned it all very quickly thanks to my past life memories. Having such a cute brother, it was difficult to not love him, me treating him like my little brother.

From what I knew, in the novel, my parents went away from work while Wulin is at the Intermediary academy and I don't really know what happened to them, not appearing anything even after more than 500 chapters. I want to pass time with them and Wulin as a family, wanting them to be safe.

"Today is your big day. Eat as much as you like!" Mum smiled at us "Let's eat!"

We all started eating, Wulin eating at incredible speed "Wulin eat slower, you are going to choke. We are not in a hurry, the awaken won't start early for you to eat faster."

Wulin blushed, gaining a laugh from everyone including me.

After finishing breakfast, dad took us outside, towards the Spirit Pagoda. In the city that I live in, Glorybound City, twice a year the Spirit Pagoda opens to awaken the spirits of every child that had reached 6 years old.

The Spirit Pagoda was a three floors building with a futuristic setting, wanting to awe everyone that came. Glorybound City was a small city so the Spirit Pagoda here was of the minimum size, the headquarters having more than 100 floors.

Entering the Spirit Pagoda, we were made to wait over a hall. There were a great number of children already waiting and more were coming, all of them with tensed and excited faces. Today was the day that would decide their future. If they awaken soul power, being able to have a prosperous life.

I would like to say that I wasn't nervous, but I was. This was truly an important day. While genetics had a great impact when awakening and with god as biologicals parents, I would have a perfect chance, there was always the luck part. It could be a bad mutation like Yu Xiaogang or even born without soul power.

If I could choose, the best would be something like Tang Wutong, with a beast spirit and the Clear Sky Hammer, letting my initial talent be greater than with a Blue Silver Grass that would need to evolve before becoming truly useful. There was also the Golden Dragon that I didn't know if it would be inside Wulin or me.

"Clap!" I hit my cheeks to calm down. It doesn't matter, I will make use of everything that I can and strive to the top. In this world, only with power you will truly free to do what you want and protect who you want.

I sensed an arm over my shoulder. I turned seeing dad giving me a reassuring smile "Calm down. It didn't matter what is your soul, you will always be my son."

I inspired and expired air and nodded at dad "Thanks, dad"

"Tang Wulin!" An officer shouted, indicating that it was my brother's turn.

Wulin turned pale and robotically started walking towards the officer

"Good luck, brother" I pushed him, giving a reassuring smile. He nodded and walked calmer towards the officer, entering a room.

More people were continuously being called, the hall becoming emptier. Finally, my brother left the room. He had a pale face with a very downcast expression that pained me.

It was normal. If it went as the novel, he is a rank 3 with the Blue Silver Grass, a considered trash spirit. But I know it better, he had a great talent and a long way in front of him.

I stepped towards him, decided to cheer him.

"Tang Renshi!" Before I could reach Wulin, my name was called.

"Go, son" dad said "I will take care of Wulin and cheer him."

I wanted to cheer Wulin, but I needed to go. I sighed and trusted dad, going towards the office.

"You're Tang Renshi?" A man inside the room called with a high-pitched voice "Little friend don't be nervous. Come here and stand over. Let teacher help you awa-" He stopped for a second "-ken!"

Uncared and dirty brown hair, creepy gaze and even creepier smile while doing some strange movements with his arms, snapping his fingers from time to time. Plus his way to talk and voice, it was clear. He was a pervert.

I really wanted to shout it out. If I were to see this man in a dark alley, the first thing that I would think is that my purity is in danger. In the end, I contained myself, knowing that he was necessary to my awakening.

I stepped forward to the formation over the floor.

"Let's start!" he said "Graahhhhhh!" He shouted like a madman as lights shot over his arms and eyes.

'This was supposed to be his spirit? It only makes him creepier, evolving to a shiny super pervert'

Anyway, the formation under me started shining, a warm feeling extending all over my body. It was a warm and pleasant feeling. I closed my eyes, imbuing myself in the feeling.

"Bang!" Light erupted all over my body, my body becoming something like a giant lantern as I started floating over half a meter.

"What this reaction?" The spirit master said surprised, having never seen anything like that.

The light finally disappeared, I landed on the ground. I had never felt better. I could feel my body as it had been reborn, much stronger than before. I slowly opened my eyes as I lifted my right hand. Floating over it, I watched my spirit, a grin appearing over my face. It was a little but beautiful golden hammer, a Clear Sky Hammer.

Following the comments, it's a boy!

His spirit would be the Clear Sky Hammer, a somewhat forgotten spirit as it's usually ignored in favor of another. About some other spirit or bloodline, it would came later.
