"What exactly is your problem?" Kristen asked as her inner self couldn't stand being messed with.
"I actually have a lot of problems that you can't deal with so let it be. Now tell me what is bothering you, I might consider helping you." The confidence in his voice is very evident.
"How sure are you about that?" Kristen scoffed. Two can play this game, she thought, keeping her guard high.
"Depends on your problem, if it is worth my interference or not. I don't take up petty cases like 'Oh, my mom shouted at me' or 'My boyfriend cheated on me.' It sounds silly to me."
"It sounds silly to me too. People like you are all words and no action so please stop bothering me." She stood up, ready to go into the crowd.
Sitting there with that man was only pissing her off and cutting off her chances to find the one for whom she came. She can't afford to lose the man once more as it has already been four days on Earth with no clues. She was pushing the drunken people who were clinging to each other with no sense in the world. Her sense of smell seemed to have faded in such a place that everything was unclear. Kristen groaned as she closed her eyes, trying to focus better when someone pulled her hands.
"What the..."
"Hello, pretty... would you like to have a dance with me?' A random guy asked, practically sniffing at her.
"No?" She answered pushing him off.
"Oh come on, I know you are not with anyone so what is the deal?" His brown hair was literally covering half of his face, all sticky and wet.
"Mister, I am busy so please excuse." Her knuckles were turning white from clutching tightly at her dress fabric to not punch him.
"What else can make you busy in a club? Don't be so hard, baby."
"Didn't she already say a no to you, brother? Or do you want to force yourself on a girl in my place?" A strong hand stopped the tipsy man who was about to hold her yet again.
"Ohh, leave m-my hand... you are hurting me." He squirmed, trying to pull away his hands.
"Wasn't this what she told you a couple of seconds ago?" He asked, pushing the girl behind him.
"What is he trying to do?" Kristen muttered under her breath cluelessly.
"I w-will get going. I am sorry. Aghhh." He cried out feeling his hands getting twisted.
"Leave him, that is enough," Kristen spoke as she tried to pull the man away.
"This is my place and the only thing which I disapprove of is assault and drugs. Looks like you broke both of my rules." He spoke, still glaring at the man.
"Oh leave him.. what is even your name?" Kristen asked not able t pull him away, seems like she has to take out her power.
"Never come in front of me or else you know how it would be....it would be very bad, trust me."
.
.
.
"Are you fine?" He asked, pouring a glass of water for her.
"Except for the fact that you overreacted and got in between, everything else seems to be fine." She rolled her eyes.
"Oh, I was just being a gentleman."
"What is your name?" She asked, sipping on the cold water which he provided.
"That is a great question. I go by many names and you can call me anything that suits your taste. I will add that name to my list." He playfully smiled at her, leaning on the glass counter.
"Will I ever get a direct answer from you?"
"Fine fine, my name is Lucifer." He introduced himself which made her choke on the water.
"L-lucifer?"
"Mhmm." He nodded his head proudly while a straight smile was plastered on his lips.
"Lucifer as in the Devil? Like in the books? I m-mean from hell?" She asked again not able to recognize him as one.
"Ahha, you are quite impressive. Thank you for catching up so soon."
"What do you mean? Is this a topic to play around with? Do you know the seriousness of what you just said?" She asked, glaring at him.
"I am not playing around. Come on, it is my name and why would I lie about it?" He asked curiously which sealed her mouth.
"Hmm." He definitely looks like a brat who causes trouble so the name suits him too.
"So what is your name? Not like I want to know but it would be rude to just know my name." He spoke.
He always got a way with his words, it is annoying but when it is coming from him.... it is surprisingly charming.
"I am Lilah." I introduced my earth name as planned.
"Doesn't suit you. You look like an angel but of course, an angel on Earth is a fallen angel." He said as if he was reminding himself something.
"Even you don't look like a devil to me. The name doesn't suit you."
"Well, people tend to say this a lot to me but trust me, their visions change sooner."
What does that mean? He made it sound like a warning and I felt something run down my spine hearing his hoarse voice. Lilah was drinking the water as if it was juice because the alcohol from earlier nearly got her insides crack like clay. He kept his drink on the counter and walked to the other end of the room, picking up a cluster of keys.
"Do you want to come to my room?" He asked with a gentle smile.
"For what?" She asked back.
"I am not going to hurt you. As you saw, I already have got a beautiful girl all for me." He assured her.
"The last thing that would happen in the would-be me being scared of you." She scoffed, getting up as her self-respect was poked once again.
"Wow, a fierce one."
"Lead the way, Mr. Lucifer." She spoke or it could be the alcohol in her that was doing the talks.
