"He has gone crazy," muttered the City Guard with a two-handed long sword.
"Chief, it seems he is not planning to use that instant kill on us. I guess we will hold back utilizing our aether, then," murmured the City Guard with a hammer in his Chief's ears.
The Chief nodded.
The City Guard intended to lower his voice since he was afraid Lucas would hear it, but he was not aware of Lucas' heightened senses.
He could hear it clearly similar to someone talking in front of him like normal.
So he heard what the City Guard had said.
It resulted in Lucas having a grave countenance.
'It seemed they sold me off.' Lucas thought to himself.
But he was not sure who was the one who betrayed him.
It could either be a single person or all of them.
Lucas had to consider if they were hostage too.
But, even if they did, the fact they betrayed him without hesitation showed their lack of gratitude to him.
