Unwelcoming Return (2)

The shadow disappeared down a hall. "Where did you take him!" I asked.

Brown was shaking. "We need to get out of here. That thing, it's not something we should deal with right now." He said.

Brown turned and sprinted down the hallway. He was leaving me? How could he do that to me, how could he leave Sora like that.

"You can't just leave Sora!" I yelled.

"Don't worry, I'm sure Sora will be fine. For now we need to leave." Brown said.

My blood boiled. "If you're so confident, then why are you running away!" I shouted.

Brown ignored my question and continued running. How could he just leave Sora like that?

In a last ditch effort to chase the shadow, I ran down the hall where it disappeared. I didn't care if I got lost, I didn't care if it was dangerous. All I cared about was saving Sora.

As I ran through the darkness, I couldn't help but think about what that shadow was. Did Sora have a hidden power that could create such a terrifying entity? How could I not have seen this coming? How could I have let this happen.

"I swear, I won't fail you, Sora. I will protect you." I said.

I came to a dead end, where was I supposed to go now?

As I stood in front of the wall, I thought about what I could do to get past it. My Atmokinesis was the first option, but I was afraid of hurting myself more than saving Sora. The second option was to destroy the wall, but it didn't seem like anything could break through it. It was almost like someone was purposely trying to keep me out. I tried every way I could to get through the wall. I hit it, I smashed it with my strength, I even used my fire against it, nothing was working. I started to lose hope, Sora could already be dead for all I knew.

Again, the force was too strong.

"Why won't you let me save Sora..." I whispered, tears streaming down my face.

Sora's life was at stake, and I was failing him.

But then, the shadow reappeared.

"Get away from Sora, you monster." I said.

I didn't have a weapon, but I was going to protect him with my life.

The shadow didn't attack, instead it moved behind Sora and lifted him up, before disappearing again.

I decided that my best option was to follow the shadow, it seemed like it was trying to help me, so it was worth a shot.

I started walking down the dark hallway, unsure of what was going to happen next. After a few minutes, I noticed a light up ahead. I quickened my pace and soon reached the end of the hallway. To my surprise, there was a massive gate.

"I'm coming, Sora. Just wait for me."

I pulled the door open, and stepped through the threshold.

What I saw inside took my breath away.

Before me was a massive room, filled with rows upon rows of shelves. On those shelves were countless vials and bottles, containing liquids and substances I had never seen before.

And in the center of the room was a table, and on that table was Sora.

"Sora!" I shouted.

"Leo, get out of here. It's a trap." He said.

I didn't care about the trap, I just wanted to get Sora out of here.

I ran over to him, and started untying his ropes.

"Stop. You're gonna make things worse." He said.

But I didn't listen, and continued to untie him.

Suddenly, a dark figure appeared behind Sora.

"Get away from him." I said.

The figure ignored me, and grabbed Sora.

"Let go of him, now!" I shouted.

Once again, the figure didn't respond.

"Please... Don't take him." I begged.

"Sorry, Leo. But there's nothing you can do. This is what's best for both of us." The figure said.

Sora struggled, trying to escape the figures grip.

"You're wrong." I said.

"How so?" The figure asked.

"Because I'm not going to let you take Sora." I said.

The figure laughed. "You can't stop me. Sora will come with me. He will be mine." The figure said.

"No. Sora belongs to himself. Not to anyone else." I said.

The figure shook its head. "That's not true. He is mine." The figure said.

I stepped forward. "No, he's not. You're a liar." I said.

The figure grinned. "And you're a fool." The figure said.

"You're a liar, and a thief. You stole Sora. You're the real thief here." I said.

The figure shook its head. "Wrong. I'm not a thief. I'm a murderer. I've killed more people than you can count. I've killed children, women, men, elderly. Everyone is equal on the chopping block." The figure said.

"No. You're lying. You're a liar." I said.

The figure smiled. "No. I'm not. And the sooner you accept that, the better." The figure said.

"Then, you're going to die. Because I will kill you. For Sora's sake, I will kill you." I said.

"NO LEO! STOP THIS AND GET OUT OF HERE, HE'S TOO STRONG FOR YOU!" Sora pleaded.

I didn't care about what Sora was saying, all I cared about was taking down this man right here and right now.

"Tell me who you are," I said.

He chuckled, he laughed like a true psycho. "I am nobody, you can call me The Voidwalker."

It can't be... he killed my father and sister 7 years ago, WHAT WOULD HE WANT WITH SORA?

"You bastard, why are you doing this, what do you want with Sora?"

"Ah, yes, Sora... a name that has brought me great power, and now... you have brought him back to me, I would say thank you, but it's not necessary."

He was going to kill me, and he was going to kill Sora. I couldn't let that happen, not when we had gotten this far.

"Give him back, NOW!" I shouted.

The Voidwalker grinned, he had a sick, twisted grin. "Never. He's mine now." He said.

My anger was starting to boil over, and my powers were going crazy. I needed to calm down, or else I would lose control again.

"What are you going to do with him?" I asked.

The Voidwalker shrugged. "Whatever I want. He's mine now, and no one can stop me." He said.

"I'm going to stop you. I'm going to kill you." I said.

"Oh yeah? Then how are you going to stop me? With your pathetic powers? They're useless against me. I can control them, and bend them to my will. You're nothing, but a bug to me." The Voidwalker said.

"That's what you think, but I will stop you. I'll kill you." I said.

"You can't kill me, I'm a god." The Voidwalker said.

"You're a demon. A monster. A freak... YOU KILLED MY FAMILY 7 YEARS AGO! I WON'T STAND FOR THIS!"

The Voidwalker's eyes widened, and he smiled. "Oh, so that's what this is about... I knew there was something about you. You're that boy who lost his family, aren't you? Well, I'm sorry to tell you, but you won't be killing me. I'm far too strong. And even if you did manage to defeat me, you wouldn't be able to get Sora back. He's mine now."

"You're sick, you're twisted, you're evil. You're the devil, and I'm going to send you back to hell."

The Voidwalker laughed. "Oh, how cute, you think you can hurt me? You're nothing but a child. A baby. A weak, pathetic, little child. You don't stand a chance."

I couldn't believe it, this man had killed my family. He was the reason my life had gone downhill.

"Why did you kill my father and my sister? What did they ever do to you?"

"Because, I could. Because they were weak, and because they stood in my way. They were fools. They didn't understand the true power of darkness."

"What the hell are you talking about?"

"The true power of darkness. Oblivion Magic is the power I wield. The power that is within all of us. The power that will destroy the world."

"The true power of darkness? What's that?"

"It is the power that gives us our strength."

"Fuck your power, catch these hands." I said as I raised my hands in a fighting position.

"Leo, stop! Don't do it!" Sora yelled.

"Don't listen to him, boy. Fight me." The Voidwalker said,

I threw a punch at the Voidwalker, but he dodged it.

"Not bad, not bad. But can you keep up?"

He threw a punch at me, but I dodged it.

"Yeah, I can."

I threw another punch at him, but he dodged it again.

"You're not bad. Just kidding!" He said as he uppercut me into the ceiling.

I gasped for air as the hit took the wind out of me and that's when I realized the true unhinged nature of The Voidwalker, of course I knew he was strong, but to be this strong, I might die.

I started thinking of a plan to escape, but The Voidwalker's words interrupted my thoughts.

"Now, it's my turn." He said.

He threw a punch at me, and I barely managed to dodge it.

"What's the matter? Can't keep up?" He taunted.

"Fuck off."

"I would, but I can't. I need Sora, and I need you dead."

"You won't get him."

"We'll see about that.
