there is no more sora.

My heart ached. I loved Remi more than anyone else; she was my salvation when I needed help. I could not keep up with this act for much longer. Why was I continuing to ruin everything that people built up for? I should have just killed the king and been done with it, yet I killed nine members of the Elite 10, and now I have the one person I love more than anyone else in a chokehold, being embarrassed in front of the entire city. I never intended on things turning out the way they did. I didn't want anyone, not even the kingdom, to think I was a monster.

Nowhere is safe for me. I would rather let these people kill me, yet the thing keeping me alive was the curse; there are only so many times it can bring me back to life. My soul has suffered immensely, having to bear the constant death. There are not many souls in the world that would be able to put up with it; that's what the King said, which is why it has to be someone like me. I no longer had any choice but to do so.

As we stood there watching, everyone went into panic mode as I dropped Remi to the ground.

"Do you not understand what this means when the strongest mage gets overpowered by the very person who challenged the pillar? Do not waste your lives for such a weak king; where is there any safety? If he can do that, do not make this a repeat of a previous nation." The citizens started to get riled up. I stepped forward towards Remi, who looked like a weak, broken puppy, but before I could take another step towards her, a man came before her, protecting her from my presence. Looking at him from top to bottom, it was none other than Enzo. He came back, it seems. The one who stood behind him was Rayne; the three of them are here, it seems. As everyone ran away from the scene, the four that remained were Enzo, Remi, Rayne, and myself. I stopped engulfing my face in Oblivion Magic and showed them my face, Enzo, for the second time, as I made him forget who I was.

Remi's Perspective:

"Sora...?" I muttered. I could not believe what I was looking at; it was Sora. Is my brain playing tricks on me? Or am I starting to hallucinate? If that's the case, this hallucination needs to end now. "Stop fucking with my head; is this some sick joke?"

The person claiming to be Sora replied, "Would you have preferred him to have died?" The voice he was emitting, his face, his aura, and his body language were all unmistakable proofs that they were really the Sora I knew. His demeanor and his clothes were all different from the Sora I know; did I not know Sora well enough?

"I'm sorry it had to be this way; the three of you fought to live in my name, and I spat on all of you by becoming the very same thing I hated." Sora said as the tears welled in the corners of my eyes. "YOU FUCKER! Why would you do this to us?" I screamed, unable to process that Sora was still alive and yet he was evil—pure evil. The Sora that I grew to love betrayed me; he betrayed all of us. I saw his hand held in the shape of a claw, claws stained with the blood of the king. He killed him. How am I supposed to forgive that the person standing before us is not Sora, not the one I fell in love with?

"Your Sora died; this is just a monster who killed a human being wearing his skin. Is there a reason for your cowardice? We need to take him down while we can," Enzo said coldly towards Rayne as his magic energy enveloped his entire body.

"Enzo, please just stop." Rayne cried as a hand touched her shoulder, His soft, comforting gaze, his words, "Rayne. It's me; don't cry; I won't hurt the two of you, not after all the work and effort you put into loving me and who I once was. I've changed now—not by my own will, though. However, I want the two of you to trust in me, and I promise you the pain will never arrive." Sora replied softly while approaching me while I stood in between Enzo and Rayne. I did not want to show him a sad or scared face; no matter what happened to me, I was determined to defeat the monster in front of me, no matter what it took. Even if that meant I had to kill him, he'd finally find the peace he sought.

He has killed enough of the lives that we've taken together. I cannot remember much, but our stories ended here. "Stop." Enzo screamed before placing his foot forward. The magical power that Sora contained was tremendous. One shot of his breath attack was more than enough to take our lives; in addition, the atmosphere was brimming with mana. We all felt how little mana we possessed against that tremendous magical force of his. I took in a large gulp and fired off a blast from my right hand to create an opportunity for them.

"Sora, please, THIS IS NOT THE PERSON THAT I LOVED SO LONG AGO! What could have possibly happened in two years?" I began to sob once again.

The next second, his scythe came into existence, and a wave of pressure filled the surroundings around him. I sensed the enormous magic that was forming in his palms and the intense black, red, and blue color emitted from him. Within a second, I sensed the presence of hundreds of dead people that swirled around him. He pointed the end of his blade towards the three of us, and like an arrow being fired out of a bow, I felt like the bloodlust coming from his blade was enough to kill me instantly.
