Chapter 38: Teddy

Taesung POV:

"Taesung-ah, are you okay now? Do you feel good?" The head chef of the restaurant asked me.

I never had the chance to have a real family. But these people had always considered me as a family member. I was really grateful for that. As soon as the head chef heard, I had caught the cold, he made his amazing cold buster soup for me.

I nodded and smiled at him, "Thank you, Sir. It was delicious."

He smiled and patted my shoulder, "Anytime."

I bowed to him and went to do my rest of works. I worked the whole day and time passed away in a few blinks. Noona always said, I paid too much attention to my work. Maybe, maybe not. The work didn't seem boring since my head was always filled with Noona's thought though her thoughts distracted me a lot. Although I doubted that the owner minded at all, because he looked happy when he commented, 'Taesung-ah, you look very happy nowadays. What's going on?'

Now I had someone who waited for me, I had someone to whom I could get back at the end of the day. I was looking forward to seeing that day, when I would get back to her, to my home, and she would accept me wholeheartedly. Someday, when we would have kids, a little house, a perfect home.

I smiled at my own stupidity.

' Kids, huh? I didn't even tell her that I love her.'

It would be a lie if I said I didn't want to have kids with her. I adored children and I very much wanted to have my own children, with her. Only her. But where was she now? I had been waiting for Noona to come since we closed the restaurant. She wasn't coming. I got worried so I called her.

"Hello, Noona? Where are you?"

Noona replied, "Taesung, I am helping a friend to complete her assignment. It will take some time. You should get back to home. I will be late."

I frowned. It wasn't unusual that she was helping. But there was something off, something was different. Her tone wasn't usual.

"Ah, okay. Noona, I will wait. Take your time, okay?"

She sighed. I could sense her smile. "Okay. Don't worry about me."

"Okay." I hanged up.

What was I going to do now? We also closed the restaurant. Maybe I should take a walk.

No, I had a better idea. I lost a bet against Noona a few days ago. I promised to buy her Teddy. I could buy it now for her.

So went ahead. I knew there was a toy shop nearby. It's funny, she still loved teddy. I asked her, why was that. She said she had a habit of hugging a teddy while sleeping. That's why she wanted a teddy. No, I was not going to be jealous of a mere teddy, but I would make damn sure of replacing that teddy as soon as I would confess to her. She would only hug me. Only I would be her Teddy.

After buying the biggest teddy in the whole shop, I was returning to the restaurant. I hoped, by now Noona had finished helping her friend.

When I was returning, I saw something that broke my heart into a million pieces and shattered my every dream. I felt a throbbing pain in my chest. It was suffocating. I couldn't breathe. I felt dizziness.

' No, it can't be. She can't do this to me. No, I am misunderstanding. But she lied, she said she was helping her friend. She said she was with a girl. If it wasn't true, if she wasn't doing this, why would she lie?'

She obviously lied because she was on a date with her that same friend. She was hugging him in front of a pub. She was hugging another man.

I couldn't feel anything. All I felt was blankness in my mind. The huge teddy fell on the ground and I started walking but didn't know where I was going to.

Fahami's POV:

"Umm, Fahami, would you like to have some coffee with me?" He was pleading with his eyes.

"Okay, sure." I smiled a bit at him to assure that I would go with him.

Though I agreed for coffee, Hyunsu took me to a pub. I couldn't protest him because he looked miserable. It seemed like he didn't know what he was doing. I didn't know what to say to him either. Still, someone had to start the conversation.

"Hyunsu, wha..."

"What do you wanna order?" He didn't let me finish the sentence.

It felt like I was thrown off track.

"Ahh, yeah, sure."

I ordered for steak, fries and coke. Hyunsu ordered for soju. Before I could finish my entire meal, he swallowed four bottle sojus. Alright, something was definitely wrong.

"Hyunsu what happened?" I could hear concern in my voice. Well, his behavior was very concerning.

As I asked, He started laughing hysterically. That laugh wasn't a happy laugh. He laughed but I saw pain in his eyes. His next action proved me right because he started crying. He was sobbing. And I sat there, completely dumbfounded. I didn't have a single idea what was happening and how to handle. If he didn't share with me about his problems, there wasn't any way for me to help him.

So I did the best thing I could do then. I held his hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. "Hyunsu, tell me, what's wrong?"

He looked at me and said, "Fahami, my parents divorced each other. That filthy cheater divorced my Eomma. My Eomma loved him with all of her heart, and what that cheater did? He fucking divorced my Eomma."

He wasn't looking at me, he wasn't looking at anywhere. His eyes looked blank. I didn't know how to console him, what to tell him. I sighed and traced small circles in his palms to calm him down.

I didn't stop him from saying anything else. I gave him the chance to let it go. He started opening up, sharing his sorrows which he didn't do with anyone else.

There was no way I could drag Hyunsu to his house. Besides, Taesung already called me, and he was waiting for me. So I texted Haewon and asked him to pick up Hyunsu. We were waiting outside for him.

"Fahami?" Hyunsu called my name in a desperate tone.

I turned to him, and before I could say, 'What' suddenly Hyunsu hugged me.

"Hyunsu, what are you doing?" I was shocked. I could kick my enemies balls without batting a lash, but I couldn't misbehave with a friend.

"Please, I need you. I need you Fahami."

All I could do at that moment was, consoling. So to console him, I hugged him back.
