Delight Highschool

'I would rather be a little nobody than to be an evil somebody.' The story of a boy who transfers to an elite highschool in Seoul. Junseo could've never imagined how much his life was about to change when he transferred schools. But 'change' doesn't always refer to as positive... "I'm used to it. It doesn't hurt..." "Why don't you just die already! You're just a waste of air." "They will pay for it. And we will make it happen." [Note: I do not own the cover. image source- Pinterest]

13. A 'fun' game

The next day I entered the school feeling a bit better after yesterday's events, which seemed to have made me a bit energetic. Midterms are from tomorrow so I guess there's no sleep for me tonight because I haven't fully focused on my studies since I was running to save my life.

I silently walked to my class with my phone in my pocket, recording the whispers and insults.

"Wouldn't it be better if he quit the school already?"

"I know, right? If I was him, I wouldn't have transferred to another school in some foreign country."

"It's a pity... If he wasn't their 'target' I would have asked him to be my boyfriend."

"I don't know how someone as dumb as him got into our school."

"Maybe he hooked up with one of the directors? Or even the Principal!?"

"That might be true! When did you get so smart, Yunho!"

"Oi, Junseo! Wanna hook up with me? I'll give you the best time of your life!"

I heard numerous whistles and laughter from both girls and boys. If I'm not wrong, one-third of the students were openly supporting Daejung and enjoying the mess he created. The other students paid no mind to me and went on with their work, probably because they didn't want to get their hands dirty by getting tangled with Daejung.

Ignoring all that I sat in my seat reading my handwritten notes for tomorrow's exam. Today is a physical education test where we'll be evaluated on one game chosen by the P.E. teacher. The class representative usually takes down points of every game and gives them to the teacher.

Colorful handwritten notes always helped me to remember things better. So here I am, rereading them. I made this last night by staying awake till 4 am, after all, I can't afford to lose this scholarshi-

I felt some cold liquid fall on my head and a white substance dripped down from the strands of my hair which ruined my notes. The ink in the notebook was smudged and unreadable.

...There goes my 7 hours of hard work.

Looking up I was greeted by Sungyoon who was cunningly smirking down at me. He held a carton of milk upside down in his hand.

"Whoops! Sorry, my hand slipped", he stated followed by my classmates' laughter.

Sungyoon's friend jokingly slapped his shoulder saying, "You and your clumsy ass-"

My face was void of any emotion and refused to let out any sound. I sighed while picking up my notebook and tossed it in the trashcan before going to the washroom to clean myself up.

So apparently, our class representative, Jungwon is responsible for carrying out today's game. Which, fortunately, is basketball. The game was about to begin before Daejung interrupted.

"Hold up, hold up. Let's play something more interesting today."

Somehow, I don't have a good feeling about his 'interesting' game.

"How about the target ball", Daejung continued.

Cheng excitedly clapped his hands. "Your ideas are the most fun! What are the rules?!"

"It will be one person against the whole class. If you hit them with the ball you get 1 point and if you hit their head then 5 points. Everyone needs to score at least 5 points. The target of the game will automatically pass with an A+ grade."

I'm dead-

"Then who will be the target", asked some random student.

This is when Cheng decided to butt into the discussion. "Hey Junseooo~" he sang before speaking up in a bubbly way. "You're new right? You probably won't get the rules well. You can be the target and get a straight A+!"

"Great minds think alike. If anyone else wishes to take his place instead please raise your hand." Said Daejung.

And as expected, no one raised their hand.

I just need to dodge... It can't be that hard to avoid one ball, right?

~~

I take that back. Daejung is much more cunning! Here I am standing in the middle of the circle my classmates made. Dodging FUCKING THREE BASKETBALLS!

I kept leaping away from the ball just to let another hit me. That's gonna bruise badly...

"Hey! Get serious already."

"Yeah yeah whatever... I'll just go for the head and get over with this."

I heard some random students talk among themselves and before I could react the ball hit my head hard making me hiss and stumble to the ground. I clutched my head where the ball had hit and turned to glare at the culprit.

"Woops guess I used too much strength", said Daejung with a smirk as Cheng acted like he was scolding him for being 'careless'.

I hope that I'll be able to get home in one piece without any broken bones...
