Decayed World: Guide to Raise the World Devourer

Vladimir was brought into a world of a novel: Unforgiven world of the depraved. Weirdly enough, he reincarnated into a character that was supposed to be dead. An unfortunate child who met an untimely death. He embarks on a journey to explore the world and find his calling, whatever that may be. The Victorian era in the golden machinery age is faced with a decade long war where he meets several characters of the novel destined for death. Some deserving while others, simply unfortunate. As an orphan, Vlad knows well the life of the unfortunate. The bitter taste of reality and the sheer unfair class and hierarchy system. All this and many things he hates are brought to light. The details he missed while reading are now more clear. This is his new reality. Vladimir knows the fate of this world. Such a sinful god forsaken world is only destined for destruction. He also knows the judge of that. The mysterious final boss living in a secluded place waiting for the time to come. The moment of judgment and the beginning of rapture. *** ‘While I don’t want to do this, I have little choice in the matter. I have to save my own skin, and the only way to do that is to grab the thickest thigh which is also the most dangerous… what a predicament!’ he lamented. Vlad stood outside of the opened iron gates with an imposing aura. He raised his head and stared ahead and took a step forward with an unwavering smile. “I know on the other end is hell, an abyss, the devil's layer and my worst nightmare! However, it still holds strong magnetism over me, my body, my soul. I can’t resist. I am only human, at least I thought I was.” Disclaimer: The cover art is not mine. Chapter 5: Unforgiven World of the Depraved.

I started to remember all the book's details.

Its name, as it suggested was the 'Unforgiven World of the Depraved'.

The trilogy that would now be my reality.

A broken, messed-up world within its pages would be my world.

Ah, they never give you life insurance for this loss when you read a web novel, now do they?

I am beginning to think there were better choices that they could have decided on rather than this, which I have little to zero percent of surviving.

This body I am possessing is neither the protagonist nor the extra. It is the cannon fodder that was discarded early on.

Given the math or the chances…not that I am good at it… there is little to no chance at all. A little around 0.001%.

Yup.

I was fucked.

But... there was one being who was said to have survived.  I mean, I don't imply that I want to, but if there was a thigh to hug then, his thigh would be the thickest.

Cough! Cough!

Ahem, I mean safest.

In other words, the one who destroyed this world is ultimately also the only one who survived until the end.

Imagine the bursting of a planet more than four times Earth's and the reconstruction of it from dust particles and water and air until it is completely renewed.

From there on, life would take the same beginning as the creation story. This was the fate that awaited this world.

He survived this. If there was a safe place at that time, then by his side would be it.

However, I was curious about why the world was doomed as so.

It couldn't have been so bad right?

I only ever read the tragic ending of many, there was no reason as to why it was so…

Ah, I know!

I was gonna explore the world and find out. But before that, I have to pay my fines for possessing this body. I would take revenge for it and make those who tarnished it pay, and those who cursed at him apologize.

This was a good start.

Now…this mess.

There was blood all over and guts and limbs too. A disgusting sight so much so that my nose was suffocating.

I was not staying here for long.

I stood up and from the memories I walked to a wall that was like every other white tiled wall. This was designed to be soundproof as of what I read from the former's memories.

Didn't they know that too much white was going to drive someone mad?

Anyways, the camouflaged door was on this wall.

Creak!

"What an ominous sound."

The outside was different from what I was expecting. It was like any other building it seemed like I had stepped into another world entirely. I glanced back to confirm the white room was indeed not my hallucination.

So, this was my first step to surviving in this damned world.

After navigating the building, I found that I was stranded in a three-story building in the middle of nowhere.

As far as my eye could see, there was not a trace of humanity in sight.

So I came to wonder…maybe killing all those research-obsessed psychos wasn't such a good idea after all.

'How should I leave this place?'

I couldn't see myself walking such a long distance with no sense of direction with such short legs. I would simply be sending myself on a one-way train to death by starvation.

In such hot weather too.

Definitely, not!

I decisively walked back into the building and looked around for any potential clues for a way out of there.

The first floor. It seemed like it was the food area and gathering area where these lunatics would meet and eat. There was a good enough portion of food to last a while.

Going up the second floor, it seemed to be the sleeping quarters. They each had a private room so I can assume from the single rooms.

There was a total of seven rooms.

Each was crudely decorated and simple, neither materialistic nor luxurious. Couldn't they treat themselves better?

It was a wonder.

Sigh!

I stared at the second last door on my inspection. In truth, I wasn't expecting much of a difference from this room either. It seemed hopeless and break as the rest but I had set myself to do a thorough inspection.

Creak!

Again with the ominous sound. I had just taken a step in when I felt something going my way at a very fast speed. I possibly couldn't react to that since my brain wasn't even fast enough to register this.

Swiish!

Ting!

I blinked and realized something was in my hand.

Oh, a bullet.

Then I blinked again at the dark room which was now as clear as day. I realized I could see every little detail within the shadows of this room.

Including the woman with an incredulous face opposite me in the darkest spot of the room.

I dropped the bullet and walked in. If you are wondering if I was surprised, then I hate to burst your bubble. I was calm as ever.

There wasn't so much to think about right now. Given that this body could kill five people within an instant, then catching a bullet shouldn't be a surprise.

I was curious about how I did it, but that wasn't going to distract me right now.

"Hello, Maam. I mean no harm. Just listen while I talk nicely and put down that pistol. Let's be civilized, shall we?"

I said raising my hands in a defenseless position, cutely pointing at the gun with my pinky finger. We held eye contact for a while but I was a patient man.

The woman who had her weary gaze at me shifted to my hands them to my face and body….

I looked down, Oh…I was naked.

"Ahem, could you not stare?"

I was slightly flustered. How come so far I remember being without clothes?

I could confidently stay in position if I had my former mature body and let her stare but as matters stood, I was nothing more than an immature kid.

How would I know I didn't have them when I wasn't feeling cold?

I realized there was one thing I had overlooked.

I mean, I was still a child…thus explaining my child's high-note soprano voice and why that woman seemed taller.

All in all, I didn't have any assets to show off.

There was so much I realized within that moment that I felt so overwhelmed.

Pissed off too.

She was beautiful too…

Sigh!

Fate was giving me the worst of luck most recently.
