She had been in cahoots with Strome all along.

Andrew cowered, sweating profusely as he trembled from my hardened grip. "Hiln…"

I had expected it. I had to have. It had been incredibly naïve for me to even think he was fine after what had happened. But still, the shock of it all caused my eyes to sting with tears and I pushed Andrew away from me. The old man stumbled backwards and fell to the ground. I stepped back from him, wobbling on my feet as a scream choked within the base of my throat.
