DC: The Wildcat

A man who will have to punch and kick his way through the DC universe with no powers. Seems like a pretty cool idea. It isn't.

This is crazy.

Eddie. POV.

"The cub finally comes to the den." An Angelic voice filled my ears and I struggled to open my eyes. Every part of my body weak as if I lost all of my muscle. I groaned and threw my arms forward causing me to sit up. Finally opening my eyes, I looked around a saw a fire. It looked as if I was in a cave.

"I would suggest laying back down." I turned around in the direction of the voice and saw no one. I huffed and slowly stood up, leaning forward and placing my hands on my knees for support.

"Thanks for the advice but I'm good. I got a magic goddess to fight." I took a step forward but stopped. I was frozen.

"I have not given you permission to leave." As much as I would try, I couldn't move. A twitch in my fingers was all I could manage. Then a soft pat filled the cave, then another, then another. Until a great feline was at the entrance barely being shown by the fire's light. Light bounced off of it's whiskers and traces of blood was shown on it's muzzle.

"This is new."

"Very new." The cat purred back at me, and my eyes widened. It stepped out of the light and the soft pats of it stepping around me, worried me. "This form is one I rarely take when introducing myself." A blinding light forced me to close my eyes. As I opened them a small woman was next to me, looking over my body. "What a specimen you are. They don't make them as big as you where I come from."

"Who are you?" A light chuckle was what I got out of her.

"Don't be silly. You know me, so does your Ted and your mother. Though neither have seen me…visually. I met with each of them for a time." I was still confused and by the look on her face she saw my confusion. "Don't be so dense. Not a very hard equation for you to solve." She huffed and turned back into the great feline. Midnight black and piercing eyes. "I was the first. Though many have followed in my footsteps. A fighter, a survivor, a killer, a predator." As she was speaking smoke covered the room and I was transported to another place.

Another time would be the better description. Tents of the Native Americans were placed around me, and I saw many people going about their day. Women were weaving baskets or carrying herbs and barriers while the men were cheering around a fire performing a chant.

"What the hell?"

"Hell was not introduced into America yet." The mysterious woman said from beside me.

"What am I watching?" I looked up at the sky and it was so blue. So full of nothing. The trees looked strong and the dirt felt wet from underneath my toes.

"A memory, from a long time ago." As she said that a man dragging a woman walked through us, they were yelling at each other. In a language I couldn't understand. The woman that was being dragged and the one beside me were identical.

"That's you?"

"Not so dense after all." The bickering continued and the many people around us stopped what they were doing and looked at the commotion.

"What are you guys arguing about?"

"If I could hunt with the men or not. Silly in today's society, a major issue in mine." As she was talking a smile rose on her face. "Come we have much to do." She turned and walked away from the main tribe.

"What?" I turned to look at her, and she just rubbed her eye while flicking some dust off her hand.

"Come on. We don't have all day." She smirked a little bit. "Well we do. We have as much time as it takes to make you better then you are." With that she turned and proceeded to walk. I caught up to her fast.

"I can handle myself."

"But you could be better. Learn the ways of hunter, all that jazz." I raised an eyebrow.

"For someone born during Precolonial America you have an interesting vocabulary." The smirk rose.

"Unlike the others I keep updated on the ongoings of my country."

"The others?" She froze for a moment.

"I wasn't supposed to tell you that yet." She shrugged. "Oh well. Let's hunt." As she said that she sped forward deeper into the forest, leaving me in the dust.

"What the fuck is going on?" I walked into the forest, smacking branches out of my way and stepping over small streams and rocks.

No one is going to believe me when I tell them this.

Supergirl. POV.

"It appears he is in a dreamworld of some sort. Locked in his own mind by himself or an outer being. I could attempt to release him but I do not know if it will damage him." Martian Manhunter spoke from over Wildcat.

What a weird name.

"Thank you J'onn." Wonderwoman spoke from beside me. Her lasso was still around Wildcat's body.

"Of course." Martian Manhunter nodded and walked away but stopped at the door turning so half of his face was in view. "A meeting will commence in 10 minutes regarding our new member. Again, It is a pleasure to meet you Supergirl."

"Yeah. You too…" I whispered in response. He left before I could get a word out. A hand was on my shoulder.

"He does that on occasion. He's a busy man." I shrugged.

"It's cool." She gestured to a chair and I sat down.

"So tell me. How did you come to earth?"

"By a ship?" I shrugged and she smirked.

"I figured as much. Why wait until now to come out as Supergirl?"

"Kal and Batman told me to wait, until I became better accustomed to the sun's effect on me."

"Batman?"

"Yeah. Wait, he didn't tell you? Did I say Batman? I think I said Bateman. Yeah Bateman." I crossed my legs and held unto my knee with an uneasy smile.

"You're a terrible liar. Similar to your cousin. I have to assume your mission is similar to Kal El's."

"I was actually sent to protect Kal. Time warp kind of threw me for a loop." I let out another nervous laugh.

"Protect?"

"Yeah. I was born before Kal. Since my ship entered a worm hole I was stuck there for awhile. Then I landed on Earth to find out my little cousin isn't so little anymore."

"That must have been difficult for you?"

"It was. But It was great to know he was still alive and thriving. I don't mean this in the wrong way but it's nice to have someone who experiences the same things you do. Walking on eggshells type of stuff."

"I understand your meaning. Only Kryptonians fully understand Kryptonians."

"Yeah. I guess."

"That is all I needed. Now, we must figure out a way to return our friend here to his former self."

"Didn't the Manhunter just say he couldn't do anything?" She smiled brightly.

"He couldn't perhaps but I know a multitude of magical individuals who can." Her smile dimmed slightly. "And some I would rather not resort too."
