Promise

"Turns out I missed the rest of the ceremony." I was confused by how long I took to look at Grey. I was getting up from my seat with my parents about to walk home when I thought of something. Confused by what to do now I asked my dad " Dad, what do I do now." He looks at me with a smile that reached each of his ears. " When we go home I'll tell you."

I was about to reply when Astrid came from behind me and scared me asking me " Guess what my beast is." I teased " A chicken" She warned me with a smile " You'll be jealous." I looked at her questioning if she got what I think she did. "A feline," I said with a face full of envy. She smiled at me looking like she had won everything in this world.

We talked for a while till her mom came to pick her up. Finally home, I waited for my dad in the living room after I freshen up. "Ok, Loki I and your mom decide that it would be better for you to go to another city that way you can earn experience on your own in dangerous situations, but only if you're able to use your element. " Dad purposed. I agreed that I should wait till I'm able to summon my ability. "Dad, how will we test my element all of the tutors that check elements are too much money," I questioned knowing we didn't have enough money. Dad opened up a box that was in Mom's hands and pulled out a purple crystal and handed it to me. Surprised I asked, " A testing crystal, Dad how did you buy this."

My dad's eyes looked tired but when he was about to reply mom said " It was a lot of money as you know but just be thankful we were able to buy it for you so hurry and test your affinity." I held the testing crystal hoping my affinity was a wind element. The crystal started to change colors from purple to red to white finally stopping at blue. " A water element, I was hoping for it to be a fire element. Your mom will be teaching you how to use your element since you inherited her element, " my dad gasped. My mom overjoyed looking at my dad laughed," Pay up honey. Also Loki you better go get good sleep, tomorrow will be tiring for you." I went to my room excited but also scared by what my mom said.

The next morning after I woke up and washed up I went to the table to eat breakfast. Mom and Dad were sitting down eating breakfast. I sat down and Mom told me that I should wear something light and flexible because I was wearing jeans and a collared shirt. After I came back I was wearing sweats and a tank top. We went outside to the backyard where my mom pulled a mat out of the shed and told me to sit on it while she sat down behind me putting her hands on my back.

"Ok Loki, I want you to follow my mana with your own while practicing Zynx." Mom calmly said to me. I sat down when I felt something in my body circling my mana core. I'm guessing this was Mom's mana. It started to move down my arms and my body. I used some of my mana to spread it into the parts it has been. It then started to flow down to my legs. After Mom's mana had filled every part in my body started to leave. " Do you understand what I did," asked Mom. " You filled mana everywhere in my body helping me start to make my mana streams." I quickly replied knowing how much Mom had helped me as it is hard to create your mana stream.

" Ok, now on to the fun part." Mom cheered as she clapped her hands together. I have a bad feeling. "It's time for combat training, Loki comes over and stands in front of me." Mom rejoiced as it seemed she loved combat. "I will have you pick a weapon that you will use from now on," She used her water element and changed its shape into multiple items on the floor.

Lying on the floor was 7 weapons. A heavy sword, katana, bow, hammer, polearm, daggers, and an ax. My eyes scanned over each weapon stopping at one. " Daggers, can I use them," I cried out to Mom. "Sure but your gone need to be up close."
