SINGLE MOTHERS

With the maids gone, Katherine then bent down to Annabel's hight and said, "Would you allow me make your hair for you?"

She said with a sweet and lovely smiled. Upon hearing that, Annabel nodded in approvement as she stared at Katherine dazed.

No one in her entire life have ever smiled at her with such caring eyes before. It felt like she was in heaven.

She didn't know why but she felt like crying and hugging the beautiful woman who was standing in front of her.

Her smile was gently and sincere, no matter how many smiles she had gotten from the maids, Kate and Mike...and sometimes Rena.

None of them could match up with that of Katherine's. Was this what they call the smile of a mother?

She thought as she stared at Katherine with her beautiful blue sky eyes.

After some time, Katherine was finally done performing magic on little Annabel's hair.

Katherine asked for a mirror and a maid quickly went to get it since she was a little scared of Katherine.

She was sweet but she also had this type of Aura and eyes that showed that she wasn't someone you wanna get into a fight with.

The maid brought the mirror and gave it to Katherine. Taking it, Katherine gave it to little Annabel to see her beautiful hair and Annabel gasped at how beautifully it was done.

"I love it!" she said with a bright smile plastered on her small-cute face.

Upon seeing the happy look on Annabel's face, Katherine smiled and said, "I'm happy you love it... it's my first time making a child's hair. Although I don't have a daughter, I still do it for my friend so I guess I learnt a little about braiding."

Katherine said as she stood up straight and dusted her trousers as she looked down on the little girl who won't stop staring at her with eyes of admiration.

"What's your name?" Annabel asked cutely.

Smiling, Katherine answered, "My name is Katherine, and yours?" she also asked.

"It's Annabel, thank you for making my hair for me...I really love it. One day, I'll make yours too." She said as she grinned widely.

Hearing that, Katherine wanted to burst into laughter but she just patted the girl on her head and Annabel wrapped herself around her legs like a baby.

Mike who had witnessed all this had a smile visible on his face. 'Interesting...she had managed to win his daughter over within just ten minutes.'

He thought coming down the stairs. Annabel was a sweetheart but she was picky about everything, most especially the people she knows or make friends with.

Seeing how she had wrapped herself around Katherine. It looks like she is now madly in love with Katherine and won't let her go.

He sighed! poor Katherine hasn't yet realized what she had gotten herself into.

Upon seeing Mike coming down Rena quickly stood up and walked towards Katherine, pulling Annabel forcefully from her.

"What nonsense are you saying? you wanna be an hair stylist...what a stupid word to say. You have only one career and that's to be an actress like your mother got it." Rena said bitterly.

"I will never have my daughter making hair for low class people especially single mothers." Rena said and didn't regret it one bit.

Hearing that, Katherine just stood there dazed and speechless. Mike who had heard Everything Rena had said was already boiling up inside.

How could she say that, did she have no conscience.

A little confused, Annabel asked, "Mommy...who is. single mother?"

Hearing that, Rena was about to answer the question before she was then interrupted by Mike.

"Well darling, a single mother is actually the most hard working and loving people in the whole wide world." Mike said to his daughter.

"They love and take care of their children all by themselves and they are very hardworking, than some women who all they know is how to seat down all day and create drama."

Mike said, directly talking to Rena and she rolled her eyes at his words.

"So, Single mothers are amazing because they do both the job of the father and mother at the same time." Mike said sweetly.

Hearing the words of her father, Annabel smiled and said, "Really Papa? that means that Katherine is amazing." she said.

And upon hearing that, Katherine laughed and Mike laughed along with her as they all ignored Rena who was burning up in anger and embarrassment.

Not being able to take it anymore, she left the room for them and went upstairs and then the loud sound of the door closing was heard.

With Rena gone, it felt like they all sighed in relief as Mike then said, "Why did you come here? I was just about to come pick you up." he said.

A little taken aback, Katherine said, "If I'm not wrong, isn't it I who's supposed to pick you up since you are my boss."

Hearing that, Mike sighed and the said, "We should get going now."

Nodding, Katherine then turned around to leave but was then held back by a small and warm hand, "Do come by and visit again, I would really love to have you around and show you my doll collections."

Annabel said cutely and hearing that, Katherine smiled and kissed the girl on her forehead before the leaving.

Seeing the chemistry between them made Mike happy. Smiling, he hugged his daughter goodbye before then leaving with me Katherine.

In the end, they didn't have their breakfast....
