I fight a Skeleton Knight

We tore through the night sky. The wind slammed on my face as Atreigon carried me to where he had found a gateway to the hidden supernatural society. The gateway was in a forest north of Mayfair. He said that it was in a form of a pine tree and that only supernatural and mystical creatures could go through.

The sky was rather calm, with clear skies and a cold breeze, luckily I had my jacket on. The plan was to find the girl, figure out what was going on and come back home.

"We are here," Atreigon mentioned as he dived from the sky and dropped me into a canopy of tree branches that slowed down my fall before falling flat on the ground.

Ouch, I cried. Atreigon flew into my backpack and shifted into a cat.

"Did you have to drop me off like that,"

"I can heal you master in case your hurt," the cat sounded so emotionless.

I sighed, 'Just show the way, Atreigon," I said.

The cat moved its head left and right, "Hmm…I think left,"

"You think?" I felt like kicking him,

"I am following my instincts master my instincts have never been wrong," he said,

I had no choice but to listen to him. So I turned left and we began our journey through the forest. I had done enough research on creatures and their abilities and I have been learning the basics of sword fighting thanks to  Atreigon.

And now since midterms were done it's about time I go find out what the hell this all means for me. I had a feeling this curse that Sandra put on me meant more than just me being a progenitor or an elf.

After walking for thirty minutes. I finally caught a glimpse of the pine tree Atreigon had been speaking of. It was a bit far with very green leaves that looked like they were shimmering under the twilight sky. I increased my pace due to excitement only to hear a sudden rustle in the bushes close by.

I immediately hid behind a tree and waited to see what had just made that noise. It could be a bear or anything at this point.

--I glanced behind only to see it was a moving skeleton in silver knight armor.

"What the…."

"Skeleton knights, I didn't expect them to be here," Atreigon whispered. At times he and I shared senses like sight, so whatever I see, he also sees sometimes because our bond wasn't very strong yet.

"What are they doing?" I asked keeping my voice down.

"They protect the gateways, including this one. Souls of dead human souls who were punished to protect and serve the supernaturals,"

That gave me an idea, 'I need to switch,'

"Right now?!"

"Yes, right now."

"Okay,"

Atreigon burned up and I was changed into my fey form. which I had now come to know elven version.

"What's your plan?"Atreigon asked sounding a bit hasty,

"Watch," I said confidently and jumped out of hiding and all the skeletons turned like zombies that have been starving for so long.

--They didn't even bother to move, they just stood still because I was a supernatural being at the moment.

We both started to walk through the collection of skeleton knights as we head for the pine tree.

But we stopped when the skeleton knight suddenly stood in front of us. It was bigger than the rest and held a huge sword in its left hand.

"You do not belong here. Elf," it said in a very deep and terrifying voice.

I started panicking, and said, "What! do I look like an elf to you," I don't even know if it could see through those empty eye sockets,

It raised its sword and pointed it at me, and all the other skeletons also drawled out theirs.

"You die here trespasser," it spoke then swung its sword at me,

I ducked, then ran passed it heading for the pine tree. It was just a few meters away. Something grabbed my ankle, pulled me down then dragged me back to the giant skeleton to face my end.

Atreigon, I yelled

Then a black sword appeared in my hand. I used it to cut whatever that was pulling me. Then stood up with both my hands on the hilt.

--The air shifted and more skeletons started appearing from nowhere. One attacked from behind and kicked me in the back, I stumbled forward then changed position to fight it.

I hit with a lightning blast, that seemed to not work because of its armor.

It snarled, "Trespasser!"

And then they all attacked at once.

Absolute terror ran through my body. A flash of adrenaline knocked in and a blue force of energy erupted out of my body. It was like a bomb had gone off because all the trees along with the skeleton knights were thrown away in different directions. The ground also exploded outwards leaving nothing but me alone.

Only one skeleton remained and that was the big one, it was holding a shield on its arm, maybe that's why it survived.

We faced each other.

'the progenitor's power' it said, 'you stole the progenitor's power.'

The knight's eye sockets grew a fire from the center where the eyes are supposed to be. Then advanced towards me,

The ground was rumbling with each step that it made.

I put my sword forward, but it immediately overpowered me by hitting the sword out of my hand and then punched me.

I went flying into a tree trunk.

--and transformed back into a human. This thing was stronger than the minotaur.

I stood up as all my injuries healed, and then put my hand forward and cast a spell that created multiple magic circles behind me.

The skeleton knight ran towards me.

I rapidly shot multiple fireballs from the magic circles. I hated fire magic but this was a life or death situation. I shot continuously and I didn't care whether I was missing or not. As long as I stay alive, that was enough.

Smoke covered the area and the knight's body fell out of the smoke and crashed right in front of me.

My hands were still trembling. I looked around and most of the trees were on fire.

I was breathing heavily because of the smoke.

'What are you?" the skeleton knight crocked from under, he was dying once more.

'I also don't know," I said to the knight.

"Very well then," he hissed, "you will pay for this human."

The skeleton knight exploded into gold powder and vaporized on spot, leaving behind nothing but the smell of burned meat and his sword.

The other skeleton knights also vaporized. The large one must've been their master.

A green light appeared from behind, and when I turned it was the pine tree. It sent out the green light and cleared out all the fire, regrew the damaged trees.

Like nothing had even happened. But the skeleton knight's sword remained.

Atreigon was still a sword and was in my right hand. The backpack was ruined so we had to leave it behind.

I faced the tree. Then walked right through it.

the next morning. A black range rover sport parked just outside the forest. A tall black man then stepped out and scanned the area. In his right hand, he was holding a tracker that was beeping each second, which meant he was close to what was looking for.

"Have you found the spot?" a woman's voice sounded from the transmission device he had attached to his ear.

He looked at the tracker one more time, then scanned the place one more time.

"Am close," he answered.

He walked into the forest and took off his shades displaying his white eyes, the man was blind. He waved his hands swiftly in the air and the entire forest started to respond to his casting. The wind howled even louder, and the trees shook left and right to a point where they sounded like they were whispering to him.

'--the boy--'

'--he killed the knights--'

Said the whispers.

"Show yourself to me Altera, I am already blind after all," he stated

The wind instantly stopped when a woman appeared behind him,

"Hello, Minister Charles," she said.

She was very pale with pointed ears, with white hair cut to the shoulder level, and a pair of transparent wings attached to her back. She was in a shimmering green party dress with manicured hands and red lipstick on her lips.

"You saw everything?" he asked,

The woman smirked, "Of course, I saw everything, I am a tree spirit after all,"

"Give me details.' he demanded,

"The boy is a human with the power of a progenitor. I saw it with my own eyes when he unleashed it on the knights, he also has a huge amount of magical power," the woman said,

The minister paused like he was thinking about something.

"I guess Christine and Adrian have been keeping important information to themselves. If the old humans discover that a person as powerful that boy exists," the woman over the transmitter warned him. She was listening from the other side.

"It will be war, Charles."

"I know," he frowned. "Inform the parliament and tell them this is crucial,"

"Yes sir,"

She disconnected.
