Chapter 2: His enchantment doesn't work on her

Sofia could sense the rapidness in both her and his heartbeat, it was as if they both were carrying a sense of excitement without knowing it.

"S...stop coming close to me, I beg...please ", Her thoughts were in chaos. But not a single word reached her tongue or vice out. She was telling all this in mind...begging him to stop.

It was a moment when Enzo Realised something. He was standing so close to her, his bloodthirsty eyes were visible that even a person from afar could see.

Even the woman before her was capable and could see his bloodthirsty red gem eyes, but why is it not working?

His charmed...his magic spell. Did it fail?

There's a special thing about vampires, a sacred secret that no one knows about. The world was unknown about this little secret.

Vampires are known for their bloodthirsty nature, they are Devil and sucked the life out of fragile bodies. A creature who knows nothing but to take the innocent's lives and turned the world upside down with their chaos.

However, every vampire possesses a sacred skill, a talent, or a spell that makes them unique from each other.

Enzo also has a special skill, a spell. It's the kind of thing that makes everyone treasure him. No...the moment someone meets his eyes, they fall in love.

To date...no one has ever escaped his love spell. No matter how crude or soft the person is, as long as their eyes meet, he or she would get charmed by him. As much as this skill seems favorable, Enzo had gotten into trouble because of this spell many times.

There was never a single accident when someone didn't fall for his charm. But why now...why is this woman unaffected? why is she not behaving strangely? Why?

" What's wrong with this woman? why is she still sane? did the spell fail? ", Enzo was shocked.

He couldn't understand...why this accident was happening.

" Woman...are you...are you okay? ", He spoke in his ghoul-like cold voice, it almost made Sofia go into a shiver. But then...something felt different.

The terror in her heart started to disappear after hearing his voice. Their voices sounded similar, she had heard them before...many times. " Why...I can't feel scared anymore. This voice... it's too familiar. I have heard it many times. Somewhere in my head, but where? it's too familiar ", Sofia could help but try to remember.

Her body warmed up, she was no longer cold or frozen by terror. The fear in her heart started to evaluate suddenly...it was escaping. Even she was unaware of it. She wanted to see his face...it was important.

" Who are you? ", Sofia trembled, she had no idea why she stumbled or felt sad. The tears started rolling from her cheeks suddenly, she couldn't hold those tears.

Enzo creased his brows together in suspicion, how dare a mere human ask her who he was. No...how dare she stand there like a normal person when the situation was this worse. What was that question on the top?

In no time, Enzo grabbed her by the waist and pulled her close to him. " Human! Do you know what the situation is? ", Leaning his face closer to her ear, he whispered lightly.

Sofia felt chills down her spine but the tears continued to roll down as if there was no end. Enzo felt shocked when he grabbed her face and felt warm water on her face.

" Are you crying? Are you scared? ", He smirked.

The possibility...someone could cry for him never appeared in his mind before, nor was it right now. He merely thought she was too scared to face him. Plus...he was about to suck her blood.

A life that human treasures from the moment he takes a step into this world were about to get destroyed within a few seconds soon.

" You won't kill me, I am sure of it ", All the fear and anxiety piled up in her heart shattered and disappeared, she could feel nothing but a sense of security in his arms.

Hearing that...Enzo was shocked, he pushed her away immediately. He found her in a weird state, there's no way she was sane...or to be more accurate, she was weird or maybe way too smart.

Sofia wanted to see his face, she found him familiar. Yeah! she couldn't see his face...but he felt like someone she could lean on. But right now, it's not the time to think about all that. Her top priority should be fleeing from here. Since there was a distance now...

Sofia thought nothing and started running towards the route she came from, it was important to save her life.

" He was someone I felt most secure with. I just saw him for the first time today. He only held my waist for a moment, but it gave me butterflies, pain, anxiety, and a feeling I can't express in words. What happened to me earlier? I lost myself for a short moment ".

Sofia felt weird. This feeling...what was she thinking at that moment?

She was running from him. And Enzo...he kept looking at her, not moving from his place but looking at her running figure. It was weird for him too. His prey was running from him, escaping his cage. And he...instead of stopping her, threatening her, or sucking her blood, was just looking at her and feeling amazed as to why he can't sum up his courage to get her back.

" What a weird human ".

He kept looking in her direction. Until someone scared him by coming from behind. " Enzo! What did you do this time? You killed that human...", It was Lucas who shook him from her thoughts and brought him back.

" He is not dead. There's still a little life left in him. If you bring him to the hospital in time, he can be saved ", Enzo answered nonchalantly.

" There you go again. You know what? You are weird...you pile up the mess and dump everything on me. I am done with you ", Lucas scratched his head, it was disturbing and frustrating that it was him who had to clean up after Enzo all the time.

" You know it, It's been months since I drank fresh human blood. I was just walking from this alley and smelled the enticing blood...That human being served himself to me. It wasn't my fault that I ended up drinking his blood. You can't blame me ", Enzo answered looking at the dried-up human who was on the corner.

Lucas looked at the human whose blood was sucked by Enzo just a moment ago. He was all dried up, his face looked like a pale monster. But Enzo was unaffected. As is...it has nothing to do with him.

" Alright! I Understand your wise thoughts. Let's do this, you go back to where you were going and I will handle this in your stead. Even though it's a little hard, yeah... it's my fault to leave you alone. Please return ", Lucas couldn't help but taunt him.

Enzo was supposed to go somewhere as he had some plans with his friends. But the situation turned worse. And now...who knows if he can turn to them or not? They were supposed to meet fifteen minutes ago. And now it's late. The meeting time had ended.

" Take care of everything then. I should go ".

He was about to walk away when Lucas stopped him and grabbed Enzo's hand. He turned around..." Bro! Are you sure you wanna meet people like this? I mean...look at your facial features and that eye color. Hide your fangs and eye color. Or else...you will scare people. I beg you ".

Lucas did not know what to do with Enzo. Even though Enzo was thousands of years old, he was still like a careless child, the one who knows nothing about his safety and goes around. In the end, his nanny needs to look after him.

Enzo immediately hid his fangs and made his eye color turn into a normal black color. He then looked at Lucas with his cold gaze...Lucas immediately let go of his hand.

Enzo said nothing and walked away leaving everything in the mess.

On the other side, Sofia finally exited the dark alley. She was now standing on a street full of people, she felt alive seeing everyone around her. For the first time in her life, she realised how nice it is to have people around her. She felt full of life...

Her face was full of sweat, she was really scared right there in the alley. Her heart which forgot to beat for some time felt lively.

" What was that? What happened? ", She doesn't want to remember what happened there...but her mind was telling her to remember everything.

" Sofia! stop...stop thinking about all the ominous things. Remember, you have a meeting today. And...you will never meet that Devil again ".
