Chapter 18: First time

Sofia had no idea what to think where every one of her clubs was acting like someone who doesn't wanna see the person they hate the most.

" Don't you think it's good to have more people? I mean...that was our motto in the first place, right? ", She asked awkwardly, her voice shrinking as she reached the end.

Everyone started looking at her weirdly. One of the members stepped ahead and crossed his hand together as if they had so many complaints about it and right now was the right time. " Sofia! What do you think we get so many recruitment letters every day? You didn't forget that you are the cause of it, right? ".

They were annoyed as to how people keep disturbing them every day when it's written on the entrance door that they don't wanna pull any more people into the club, it's frustrating how they always end up making new trouble for all the Reading Club members.

Now that they spoke of the real reason, Sofia was feeling a little guilty. They weren't blaming her or anything. It's been busy in the club since last week, everyone is exhausted. They just need someone to vent their frustration on, and she was the perfect person.

" You guys need to get some rest. I will talk to you all later. Where's the boss? I need to see him ".

Sofia changed the topic as she directly asked about the club leader. They looked kind of baffled after seeing the whole change of behavior.

" He is at the end of the room, you can see him staring at the ceiling ", Said a girl.

Sofia said nothing and just made her way inside. Everyone got back into what they were doing earlier and let her know how precious and dear she was to the club leader.

Even though their club existed inside the library, it was big from the inside to fit more than two hundred people...it was vast from the inside and mind losing, more like a puzzle that's yet to be solved...

" Boss! Leader...where are you? ".

Sofia walked inside the maze and was looking around as well as kept watch on her surroundings. As she walked in, the place became even more strange but she didn't get scared and kept walking.

Until...she reached the end of the place, there it was...a perfect big window and a man was standing there.

" Leader! ".

The guy turned around and smiled at her...but only his eyes smiled, because his whole body was tired, the eye bags under his eyes were visible, he was no less than any monster at the moment with scary facial features.

" What brought you here? ".

" I think you should relax first. Please! have a seat ".

Sofia turned around as she saw two chairs and dragged them to him, and patted the chair's bottom..." Here! Make yourself comfortable ".

Alfred was struggling even with his balance at the moment and was unable to walk properly. Sofia walked behind him and supported him...she helped him sit on the chair and then sat down herself too.

" Thanks. Go ahead...what do you wanna discuss with me? ", He came to the point directly.

" Leader! I am here to recommend someone. I know that we are rejecting freshers right now. But...shouldn't we give a chance to those who want to become a part of our activity? ".

Sofia was trying hard to convince him and looking at Alfred, he was way too tired to listen to her, but was still respecting her.

" What's his gender? ", Alfred asked as he reached his hand to grab a bottle of water.

" He is a....boy ", Sofia touched her ear with her right hand as he asked her about her gender.

The water bottle slipped out of his hand when she said Boy and he looked at it with his eyes widened in shock. " A boy? ".

The bottle that slipped out of his hand made a huge noise but then went silent after a moment. But Alfred kept staring at her as if he was looking at some strange creature.

But just a moment later, he sat straight with his hand around his chin and supported by the table beneath his hand's elbows.

" Umm! It's like this. His name is Enzo and he is my junior. Not like I know him from before but it's like he is a cute guy with a nice personality. He asked me about how many clubs there are and asked me if there was any place where he could find peace. So I told him about our club. He has a nice personality, he won't ever make you regret your decision, I promise ".

Sofia explained everything to him since she didn't want him to have a bad impression of Enzo. She was doing it for the better by not saying anything unnecessary.

Alfred said not a single word for some time and just bit his lips three or four times before opening his mouth, " Do you know? It's the first time you have recommended someone and that to the opposite gender. I will interview him myself since you are the one who is pleading for him. But...It's not guaranteed that he will become one of us as I am still against having no new members in our club this year ".

She became happy after listening to him and smiled at him. Even though he said he won't be guaranteed but it's also true that he will personally look into this matter and handle everything about Enzo himself.

" Thank you so much, Leader. I have faith in you and I believe that you will be fair. So...where is the test? ".

She was trying to acquire a little bit into it since he already said that he was accepting her proposal. She was tapping her fingers on each other while waiting for him to speak up and tell her the next schedule.

" I will tell you when I decide. For now...please leave. I was to sleep right now and having you by my side is equal to having a headache. I think you will keep bothering me with your annoying question if I let you be ".

He was already feeling exhausted and having her around was really tough and nerve-wracking. Because she is something who always has questions in her mind and there's only a time left when she will ask them...

Sofia chuckled and tried to keep quiet as he was nagging her. " Alright! Leader. Please have a lot of rest. I should take my leave. Please inform me after you conclude, I will wait for the good news from your side ".

He waved his hand towards her, telling her to scram. She rise from the chair and made her way out from there, leaving him all alone there as he sunk into the temporary sleep state in front of her.

Looking at him...he was really exhausted and so does everybody in the club who are working on the coming project.

She came out of the library and went directly to the nearest shop outside of the university. At first, she brought some sweet chocolate bookies from the shop. These are the cookies that Rose likes the most and she always brings those with herself everytime she goes home.

After buying the cookies, my eye searched for the restaurant which has the best spicy noodles on the menu and went there immediately.

It was hard to acquire the food that Rose demanded as that restaurant was kind of famous and one has to reserve first.

" We have noodles, we have Cookies. Let's go home, she must be waiting for me at home ", With that thought in mind, she went home.

She reached home and entered the house. There was no one around and everything was quiet. For a moment she thought she was at the wrong place but then went straight to Rose's room.

She stopped in front of the room and was about to knock but then stopped midway. " It's better to just enter instead of alerting her ", She thought and went inside without a prior notice.

" Little sweety! Sister is here ".

Rose was wide awake and hid her cellphone inside the bed sheet immediately as she heard the footsteps. But when she saw it was her sister Sofia, she took a sigh of relief and patted her chest to relieve herself.

" Sisso! You scared the hell out of me. I just had a mini heart attack you know ".

Sofia chuckled and went to her bed and sat down immediately and pulled rose into her hug with another free hand. " What were you doing then? Did I tell you to put away your cellphone and rest? ".

Sofia planted a soft kiss on Rose's forehead and presented the cookies and noodles that she brought with her.

" You were waiting for this, right? Here's your food. Now that I have completed your wish, won't you give me a small kiss? ", Sofia gently pleaded to have her sister place a kiss on her cheek as a reward for what she did for her.
