Chapter 26

Shadow's POV

I don't know what I'm going to do.

I've got no plans, and there isn't something I want to do.

I decided to walk towards the same arcade that Kunai went to yesterday.

I did everything Kunai did and entered a VR capsule.

I entered the same game that Kunai had talked about.

I had to make an account for myself.

It seems that for some reason we can't use each other's accounts.

I entered and I chose my weapon.

I also used a mask that looked like a crow, since my nickname in the game was Crow.

I quickly entered a match with chains on my hand.

It is a weapon that I wanted to try using, so I just chose it.

The person in front of me seemed to use a short sword.

Once the countdown reached zero I threw one end of the chains at my opponent.

He tried to block it, but I stopped the chain before it reached him.

I then threw the other chain I had to his stomach.

This one caught him by surprise and actually hit.

After the chain hit, threw the other one again directly to his face.

That decided the match.

I kind of like how using the chains felt.

I jumped to another match, this time using a different strategy.

I just wrapped the chains around my arms.

This time I would go for melee range instead of attacking from a distance.

I quickly won the match by blocking every attack that came my way and by counter attacking every every chance I got.

After trying those two methods, I exit the arcade.

[So you won your matches?] (Kunaigai)

'Yeah, how did you know?'

[You came out way too quickly.] (Kunaigai)

'Is that so? How long did I take?'

[Around 10 minutes, I think.] (Kunaigai)

'How long did you take?'

[Around half an hour.] (Kunaigai)

After finishing my conversation with Kunai, I started exploring the city.

Since it was now day time, the whole scenery looked different than when Kunai was exploring.

'I don't know what to look for at the moment.'

{Why not speak with me for a moment then?}

'Huh who are you?'

{You can call me Wolf.}

'Oh. So you're that author guy.'

{Yep, that's me.}

'So what can I ask you? I don't have any questions.'

{Well, if you ever do, you can ask me.}

'Okay.'

[Wait, are you talking to Wolf. Switch with me for a second.] (Kunaigai)

I switched with Kunai for a second.

I wanted to know if I could get something from this Wolf guy.

'So...one question.'

{Yes?}

'Can you give me music from my old world?'

{Yeah, I can. Do you want me to send you some songs?}

'Yeah, I do want some songs. Can you attach it to my techno wolf form?'

{I'll just do this...There you go. I sent you some songs.}

I went through the playlist of songs.

It had many songs that I loved, and many songs that I never even heard of.

'Perfect. Thanks.'

{No problem.}

I then switched with Shadow again.

'I'm back, and I still don't have any type of questions.'

{It's okay. I'll get going now. I don't know if people are close to finding me, but I'm not sticking here long enough to find out. Until next time.}

Wolf then left.

With that over with, I went back to the apartment.

I switched back with Zero once I got back to the apartment.

'How are we going to decide the schedule for who's going out?'

[I don't mind if I don't go out as often as you guys.] (Shadow)

'What about when we need you?'

[In that case, yes.] (Shadow)

[If you wake up early in the morning, hand over the body to me.] (Kunaigai)

'Why during the morning?'

[I want to work out in the morning.] (Kunaigai)

'I see. In that case, put on some type of alarm.'

[I'll just wake you up at five in the morning.] (Kunaigai)

With that decided, we went through the rest of the week, and finally, the day for our first job came.
