Saunders sighed to himself, gripping the control stick of the jet tightly as he activated the door to a close. He took a backward glance at Abby, who was slowly regaining her composure and looking around the refurbished fighter jet.
"Welcome," he said only to her, while increasing the altitude of the jet.
Saunders knew Levi had to face those forces by himself. Even though the normal bullets of a fighter jet can harm a Kyburn, he didn't want to take the risk. Those creatures, or rather, his brothers, are extremely fast and agile. He would be putting Abby and himself in harm's way by releasing a couple of bullets their way.
Abby stumbled to the cockpit, and from the windshield, she could see Robert's aircrafts disappearing into the horizon. Her heart was heavy; she had just lost her two sisters and her family.
