Chapter 14: Westzel Royal Magic Academy’s Festival

Spirit Arts are particular type of magic where one can use the powers of spirits to amplify their own. Spirits are classified into: Elemental Spirits and Soul Spirits , Elementals are spirits defined mostly by their given attributes while Soul spirits are those whose souls have fused with the natural energy of the world becoming Trancedent beings.

On the 5th day of the 11th month of the Holy Divine calendar (5th November), students of the Academy were announced that in 2 weeks the Festival would be held and that it would last for 5 days. During that period students would be given leave from classes so as to enjoy the festivities.

The festival would involves a magic exhibition to be shown to the public. Magic experiments, Duels, Class competition and Entertainment were open to all, in other words anyone was allowed to participate under the condition that they were either invited by the Academy's administration or a student.

For the Class competition, students with the highest practical skills were selected. 3 student were to represent their respective classes. And Isabella along with Frank von Dreg Wellberg, second son of the Wellberg Ducal house and Stephany von Riese Enfilia, first princess of the Enfilia Kingdom were chosen for the first-year's Class 1.

As the days went by, preparation for the Festival progressed at a fast pace. Isabella and the two nobles strategized on how to win the class competition. "Princess you are mostly specialized in long-ranged attacks right?" asked sir Frank, "Yes my specialty is long-ranged and I'm pretty confident in my light and wind magic." Answered the princess. "Hmm if our opponents are in close range we might need support and that's where you Windsor come in with your Spirits Arts we can flank them." Suggested Frank, "Okay I'll do my best." Answered Isabella.

"No need to be so tense around me just relax I may be royalty but I still know how to treat such rare talents like you after all royalty has a duty to nourish and promote talents to their fullest potential. And sir Frank it seems we can trust you to deal with combat tactics as expected of a war hero's son such as you." Stated the princess, "Thank you for the compliment Your Highness." Exclaimed Frank, "Thank you for your consideration your Highness." Said Isabella. "I would have preferred to have additional support but the rules state that we can only add a member as long as they are not affiliated with other class and events and that also involves the guest but we will have to do with this." Said Frank.

"Hmm, what do you say?" asked the princess, "Even if we adopt a three-man formation the best combination would have been at least 2 close-range attackers and one long-range but it is the opposite in our case. So we have to be able to vary our attack patterns depending on the situation. Miss Windsor is in a sense an all-rounder so they might try strategies to hinder our respective strength but with another person it would allow an increase in patterns. And if they match our pace the better." Developed Frank.

"I see the more people there are the more variables we can add to our advantage." Stated the princess, "Exactly" affirmed Frank. Hearing this, Isabella speaks up "If what we need is a second vanguard, I think I can think of someone." And as two direct their attention towards her, they both agree to let her bring that person in. The next morning she headed towards the inn Ace was staying at to ask him to join them.
