ONE SMALL STEP

"Catherine! Where are you?!"Alexa called.

"She's with Titus."Curtis said.

"Still? She's been with him since yesterday."Alexa said.

"Actually she came back...for three seconds, then left, so yeah, she has still been there."Curtis said.

Alexa groaned then said,"We have to get her ready for her first day at the camp."

"Don't worry mom, I'm here."Catherine said, behind them.

"Finally, you are.. Catherine, is something wrong sweetie?"Alexa asked.

Catherine looked at her mother then hugged her and cried in her arms and Curtis also came over, just as concerned as Alexa.

Her siblings, who had been waiting in the car, also came in, bored, then attended to her when they realized her plight.

Catherine looked at her parents, with tears in her eyes, then said,"Titus said he hated me."

They were shocked.

Curtis asked,"Why? Did you do something?"

"No, all I said was that I loved him then he just pushed me away and said he hated me and never wanted to see me again."She said.

Curtis started growing furious then Alexa said,"Cool down teapot and Catherine, I think it's more complicated than that, try finding out what's wrong."

"But he doesn't ever want to see me again."She said.

"He didn't mean that, he was just emotional. I can't go with you as this is an issue between you two, you don't have to go to the camp today, just reconcile with him, okay sweetie?"Alexa asked.

"But...but what if I only make it worse?"

"I know you won't, and send this to him for me."Alexa said.

"What?"

Alexa kissed her on the cheek and placed something in her hand.

She smiled then vanished, then Alexa told the triplets to get ready but Curtis was still angry.

Alexa kissed him on the cheek then asked,"Do you feel better now?"

"Maybe, try that again."He said with a smirk.

She kissed him on the lips with a smile then he said,"Maybe a little longer."

She was about to kiss him again when Ricky said,"Aww come on, now?"

They laughed then went to take them.

Titus had been sulking in his room since Catherine left about fifteen minutes ago.

He then heard his door close and looked back to see his mom.

He frowned then said,"I want to be alone."

"Aww honey, weren't you a little hard on Cathie?"She asked.

He looked at her, shocked then asked,"Didn't you hear what she said?"

"What did she say?"She asked.

"She said ana kur a."

"What in the who now?"

"It means I love you in Wathamban."

"Wait, isn't that the language of..."

"Khala Wathamba, she's from there, the same people who destroyed my tribe and made me the last living Alpha, she said the same words my mother said to me before...before she was struck by lightning from one of their soldiers."He said.

"Aww honey, I don't think she meant it. Maybe she isn't like that."She said.

"And how would you know? She was just like her tribe, using her lights to hurt people before we got close, but that isn't happening anymore."He said.

She hugged him and said,"Don't worry, it will be alright, everything will be..."

"...fine, I didn't mean to hurt you."

"What are you doing here?"He asked, frowning.

"I came to say I'm sorry, but not for what I said, I really meant it, I came to say I'm sorry for what my people did, my family is also on the run from them since my grandma was treated like an experiment and my family was almost brainwashed by the chief just a month ago, please, don't push me away."Catherine said.

Titus then said,"Get out."

"But I just..."Catherine began.

"I said get out!"Titus yelled.

Catherine nodded but walked closer to him then kissed him on the cheek and placed my family's symbol on his hand, she then said,"My mom said I should give this to you, it's my family's symbol, it stands for the saying in my grandfather's language, ' Leave the past in the past and look forward to the future '... I think it will help with the situation."

She then vanished then Titus looked in the direction she was at, then he looked back at the symbol as a golden tear dropped on it, then it glowed...

Catherine was at the camp the next day when the instructor introduced a new student then she looked at him as he sat by her.

He looked at her then asked if something was wrong then she shook her head at the sixteen year old.

She just sat down then looked out the window to see snow and sensed frost writing on her desk,"I'm also sorry, I was just very close to my family, and hated losing them, but not as much as I hate losing you."

Then the boy to her side smirked then turned into Titus then asked,"Liked my surprise?"

She hugged him then he kissed her on the lips and all the people in the class cheered for them...

I was spending some alone time with Alex at a bar and all eyes were on us, especially those of women, with some even making attempts...on me as well.

I had to instill fear and shyness on them using my light in order for us to have some peace then realized Alex was looking somewhere.

I had already sensed it and looked in that direction to see a gorgeous woman with fair porcelain skin, long, curly auburn hair and the most beautiful features I had seen in a woman not in my family.

She was the only one who hadn't tried her luck.

Alex was mooning over her then I smiled and pushed him forward then he asked,"What?"

"Go get her tiger."I said.

He looked at me as if I had made the dumbest demand ever then said,"I can't control minds."

"But you literally controlled the minds of every living being on the planet...in your sleep."I said.

"That was different."He said.

"You don't even need to control minds, girls always chase after you, now walk there before I kick you there."

He frowned at me till I literally kicked him in the back and he stumbled halfway through the bar, then struck a pose to make all the ladies giggle, then he went to the one he had his eyes on.

She was drinking some ' pito ' as he came to sit besides her then said,"Give me the finest drink you have, I'm feeling good today."

The bar tender nodded then left to get his order then Alex stole a glance of the beautiful woman who then turned to him then asked in Ewe,"Is there anything I could help you with?"

Alex smirked then said,"How about you help me to a bedroom? I'm seriously tired."

She smirked then said,"The nearest bedroom is upstairs, the only one that could fit your... attractive physique, is in the jungle."

"Are you daring me to leave?"He asked, intrigued.

"Maybe, are you willing to accept?"She asked, in a voice, smoother than oil.

He leaned over to her then whispered in her ear,"If you can handle me."

He then took his drink and walked away and she looked at him on his way, then smirked and said to herself,"Definitely..."

Alex came to sit besides me and I was grinning widely as I nudged his elbow and said,"You still got it."

"I was terrified."He said.

"But still remained calm, and here she comes right now."I said.

She placed a piece of paper on the table and said,"Call me, and I have a few friends your brother can call too."

Then she winked at me.

I chuckled then said,"I'm married, sorry."

"Oh, I know, bye boys."She said, catching the eyes of all the men as she modelled away.

I was slightly insulted, did she expect me to ever cheat on Anneliese?

Alex was smiling stupidly then I said,"Maybe this was a bad idea, I think she's too bad a girl for you."

"Oh I know everything about her, I've sensed her ever since I was powered up but didn't care before, now I just want a chance with her, that's why I even wanted to come to this very bar, at this time, please just let me have this."He said.

If he knew all her secrets, what sinister shenanigans could she do to him?

I sighed then nodded then he slapped my back, painfully and said,"I knew you'd come around."

I then whispered,"That doesn't mean you should snap my spine."

"Yeah it does, in case you changed your mind."He said then stood up.

I limped to my feet then straightened up as I was healed, then followed my big little brother.
